Limits
The distance between Grey Lizards' base and Obsidian Mountains, was not that large. I would make it in about two days of running. Rushing was not the solution though, I had to keep an eye on my energy just in case. That gave me an opportunity to play around with my new weapon, the new Moon Blade. I started from the dagger form. Utilising the nine hidden blades, I tried a few moves in the open. The power of those blades and the dagger were so great, the ground I aimed at was slashed and diced to smithereens.
"Damn this weapon is good... I can even use it for an upgraded Stringed Hidden Weapons, where my Aura would work as a string. This form fits perfectly for the Art of Hidden Weapons", I said to myself. Before I moved on to other forms, I played around with the dagger a bit more.
This produced some interesting results. I was able to copy most of the other skills with the dagger and its nine blades. All the standard Forms became upgraded versions, where instead of strings, I used my Aura for manipulation. Not only was this easier and faster than manipulating strings, all the skills became stronger. There were limitations of course. I couldn't replicate the mastery skills, such as Sleeping Blades Forest. I could smash the dagger and its blades into the ground, but they couldn't travel underneath the ground like my Auras. That was the main premise of that skill. My Aura would travel beneath my opponent, before bursting outwards from underneath.
Although mastery skills were unavailable with the dagger form, my range became much bigger compared to strings. I could control the dagger and the blades, up to about twenty metres in radius. This was indeed a mid ranged weapon Alicia talked about. I decided to play around with the bow next. "Tsss", "Ziit", "Click, Click, Click", "Swoosh!", the bow appeared in my hand. "This could be my new pastime. The way this weapon changes forms is great!", I exclaimed.
Since I didn't need arrows, I wasn't sure how to proceed. "Do I simply pull the string?", I asked myself. I pulled the string, but nothing happened. 'Hmm, it's not going to take my Aura automatically, I probably need to feed it some', I thought while proceeding to do just that. This time, as soon as I pulled the string, a pale yellow arrow formed between the string and the arrow rest area. "Wow! This really worked, and it wasn't that difficult either", I exclaimed again.
I wasn't sure whether any Elemental Energy was added to the arrow, but that alone was enough for me. There were no targets to shoot at, therefore I decided to shoot into the distance. "Swoosh!". The arrow didn't fly as far as I expected, only about a hundred to a hundred and fifty metres. My expression changed, when the arrow landed, or rather crashed into the ground. "Booom!", a deafening sound travelled through the area.
I quickly made my way to the place my arrow landed, and took a look. "This is broken… How can such a weapon exist?", I asked myself, looking at the sight in front of me. Not only did my arrow create a small crater, the earth became so compact, that I had a hard time believing it was due to my Aura. "Elements!", I quickly realised the reason. The Aural Arrow must've been infused with Earth Element, which made it heavier. Adding in the Domineering Aura on top, the results were staggering. "This bow is comparable to a Scorpion, yet I can hold it in one hand", I mumbled to myself, stunned.
The damage was great due to Earth Element, but what about the other Elements? "Air Element should be present here as well, but how do I attract that instead of Earth Element? Or does the bow chooses by itself which Element is incorporated?", I wondered. I gave it a few more tries, before concluding it was indeed random. Sometimes my arrows would fly a shorter distance, that was due to the Earth Element. Yet sometimes, they would fly a great distance, thanks to the Air Element. "The Air Element is great as well. The range is around five hundred metres, and the arrow pierces right through the ground, like a knife through butter. Adding in my Domineering Aura, the damage is substantial too", I said to myself.
A few more tries later, I finally figured it out. I couldn't really control which Element the arrow would have, but I found a way to distinguish between them. This became even more apparent when I used my Bloodlust Aura. "So, if the arrow has a yellow tint to it, that means it will be of Earth Element. On the other hand, if it's a whitish green tint, the arrow will be of Air Element. By the power of deduction, red tint would mean Fire Element, and blue tint would mean Water Element. This could probably be applied to Nature, Darkness and Light Elements, although I have nowhere to test that right now", I concluded.
The consumption of my Auras wasn't that small, but I could support it for a few good shots. With the bow mostly figured out, I decided to focus on the last form, the scythe form. "Tssssk", "Pak, Pak, Click", "Click, Click, Click", "Pak, Pak, Pak", "Ziiit!", "Pat!", the bow changed into a scythe. 'Fortunately, I don't have to revert back to the dagger form, and then to the scythe form. That would be too time consuming', I thought. The convenience of changing to any form, from any form was great. I approved.
"Let's see what this weapon can do!", I exclaimed, and swung the scythe around me. With each more powerful swing, a silver air blade flew to the distance, sometimes crashing into the ground, sometimes disappearing into nothingness. "Hahahaha, this weapon is great! I feel like this weapon always belonged to me!", I exclaimed. Then something even more extraordinary happened. The hidden blades that made up the main blade of the scythe, separated and flew about in different directions. All of them still attached to the string.
I saw this chance, and spun around like a storm. A barrage of silver air blades flew left and right, as me and the scythe raised a storm. I stopped abruptly, while the four blades returned to normal with a "Clang, Clang, Clang" sound. "So, that's the use of this string. Neat, very neat! I love this new weapon!". The scythe form didn't require my Aura at all, yet it was a very powerful weapon. I couldn't repeat the same with the dagger or bow forms. "The range in close combat is not really that close though. My reach is about three metres, excluding the silver air blades. I wonder about very, very close combat?", I said to myself.
In case of a sword, or even a dagger, I could attack and defend at a very close range. I wasn't so sure about that scythe though. It was bigger, and the blade was positioned differently to what I was used to. "I can stick with the dagger in very close combat, or use the pole. It's made out of blades after all. Perhaps with more use, I will find a proper style for using this weapon, but there is no time right now", I said to myself.
I still had to make it back to Obsidian Mountains. Convince everyone to attack Bramans, and hope that everything would go well. I was certain Crow wouldn't leave Obsidian Mountains without me, but I wasn't so sure about the others. Humans, Lizards and Voltars, we would require them. If they simply marched alone, and lost… We would be in deep trouble.
