Song Qingchun was startled for a moment before she realized the messy state that she was in.

No wonder so many people were looking at me sideways when I went shopping just now.

With a blush rising to her face, Song Qingchun snatched the white t-shirt from Su Zhinian and nodded with a soft "hmm" before rushing upstairs.

...

When Song Qingchun moved out of Su Zhinian’s bungalow, she had pretty much hauled all of her clothes away with her. Su Zhinian searched for a long time throughout the second floor, and the biggest T-shirt he could find was barely enough to cover the lower half of Song Qingchun’s buttocks.

Song Qingchun stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom and tried to pull the shirt down several times before heading downstairs.

Su Zhinian was seated in the living room, watching the television with his legs crossed. When he heard her footsteps, he turned instinctually toward the stairs. When he saw her exposed pair of legs, his eyes were glued to them. He forced himself with great willpower to look away before it became uncomfortable. Then he stood up and walked into the dining room before Song Qingchun.

They assumed their usual seats at the dining table. Due to force of habit, Song Qingchun dished up his meal for him.

They didn’t share any conversation at the table, each busy eating their own fill. However, their eyes would occasionally turn the other person’s way, but when he looked at her, she was eating with her head lowered, and when she looked his way, he was drinking the soup with his head lowered.

This reminded both of them so much of when they were staying together.

Other than the sound of chopsticks hitting on the bottom of the bowl, the dining room was eerily quietly. However, unlike the awkwardness in Su Zhinian’s bedroom earlier, it was a comfortable quiet with a warm, fuzzy feeling.

After dinner, like in the past, Song Qingchun started to clear up the dining table.

Su Zhinian initially wanted to help, but when he grabbed the cloth to wipe down the dining table, he raised his head to look into the kitchen. His gaze swept over Song Qingchun, who was standing at the sink doing the dishes.

She was standing in a half-bent position, and because of that, her T-shirt was raised, revealing her sexy behind.

He stared at that picture for quite some time before realizing what he was doing. He turned quickly away as a pink hue rose to his face.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He then opened his eyes and continued to do his chores. Even though he forced himself not to look that way, his eyes seemed to have a will of their own as they kept drifting toward the kitchen. An inexplicable sense of heat coursed through his body, causing his breathing to turn heavy. He was afraid he might go crazy if he stayed any longer, so he left the cloth on the table and dashed out of the dining room.

...

It was already 7.30 pm when Song Qingchun came out of the kitchen.

The living room was vacated. The television was playing, but Su Zhinian was nowhere to be found.

He had asked her to stay to repay her for her cooking. She was no longer his housemate, so it was time for her to leave.

Song Qingchun stood in the living room for quite some time before taking the steps to head upstairs.

The door to Su Zhinian’s bedroom was open. Song Qingchun peeked in, and it was empty. Then she walked to the study.

Before she reached the door, Song Qingchun could hear the sound of Su Zhinian talking within.

This was a picture that was all-too familiar.

When she had lived at his place, she would hear him on the phone talking about work almost every night.
