At the time, Song Qingchun was standing before the canvas, giving no thought to the paint that splashed all over her clothes and body. Then, a motorcycle drove past her while the rider grabbed her bag.

The motorcycle was moving so fast that when her bag was pulled, her whole body was sent flying and landed on the concrete floor. The sharp pain from the fall almost caused her to faint.

When she recovered, she was already sitting on a bench around a hundred meters away from the middle of the pavilion, and the bag that she had seen being snatched away was sitting quietly on her lap.

Song Qingchun was utterly confused. She blinked several times to make sure that her sight was not wrong. I remember falling to the floor and the bag being grabbed... What just happened?

Song Qingchun raised her eyes with confusion and looked around her. Around her were unfamiliar faces at a foreign country; there was no one that she recognized. None of them seemed privy to the dangerous interlude that had happened to her earlier.

Song Qingchun recovered from her daze and was about to stand up from her bench and leave when an elderly woman nearby asked her in Japanese, "Miss, are you alright?"

Song Qingchun had learned some Japanese and could understand the meaning of this simple sentence. She shook her head lightly and used her weak command of the language to reply, "I’m fine, thank you."

"Wonderful... You’re lucky that someone managed to grab your bag back for you. That man was truly impressive. It was also that man who carried you back to this bench for you to rest."

The old woman said a long sentence in Japanese, but Song Qingchun could only understand snippets of it. However, from those snippets, Song Qingchun managed to reconstruct a whole story; a man helped her get her bag back, and that same man picked her up off the floor and placed her on this bench. He even purchased some medicine for her.

Medicine... Even though Song Qingchun could not understand what the old woman was saying as she pointed at her bag, she did open up her bag when the term "medicine" flashed across her mind. She saw a bottle of medicinal ointment sitting in it.

Song Qingchun pulled the medicine out to which the old woman nodded in quick succession. Then she used Japanese to utter a long sentence.

Similar to before, Song Qingchun did not understand what she was saying. However, from her gestures, Song Qingchun could guess what the old woman was trying to say; the man squatted before her to help her apply the ointment before leaving.

Song Qingchun wanted to ask the old lady some questions, but her command of Japanese was not good enough to do that. Therefore, she tried using English. However, the old lady did not seem like she understood English; she shook her head at Song Qingchun with confusion. Eventually, someone called her name, and the friendly old lady bade her "sayonara" before taking her leave.

Song Qingchun, who was injured, decided to return to the hotel. Even though the initial pain was intense, the injury on Song Qingchun was not serious.

The wounds healed quickly, and there was barely any pain left on the second day. They had already scabbed over.

When the scabs all fell off on the seventh day, Song Qingchun took the plane to return to Beijing.
