The underground maze-like Five Colored Crystal Vein was filled with crossed paths. No one knew how large the underground maze was, or how many crystal ores the vein contained! Standing at the entrance and looking at the web-like underground maze, seeing sparkling crystal ores at every corner, Yang Ling could not help but feel a sense of anticipation for this mysterious Five Colored Crystal Vein!
If the Military Factory that was under construction was the front of the train representing the future development of his territory, then this Five Colored Crystal Mine was the fuel that enabled the train to speed into the future!
As long as he excavated a portion of the crystal ores and sold them for a high price through his Wissen Merchant Association or Harribell’s Boulade Merchant Association, he would be able to quickly obtain many crystal coins. The plan of the various large merchant associations banding together in an attempt to break his capital chain would crumble!
After instructing the Twin-headed Ogre Braska to silence all news about the place and put up even stricter defenses, Yang Ling and Goode began their journey back to Wissen Town. In just a few hours, they had arrived at Wissen Castle without being observed.
“Goode, we must hasten the construction of the Military Factory. I’m giving you full control over the manpower and crystal coins you need!” Yang Ling handed the reins of his warhorse to Orlando, who had walked out to meet him. Behind him, Goode got to work. Now that he had personally made the trip into the Five Colored Crystal Mine, he, like Yang Ling, was full of confidence for the territory’s future.
After sitting in the meditation form in the middle of the Spirit Gathering Spell Formation in the yard, Yang Ling began to observe the changes in his body closely.
On the surface, even though there were no obvious changes to his muscles, they were now filled with an explosive strength. Pulling off a leaf and tossing it out, the leaf flew outward like a dagger, slicing a thick branch into two as if it were tofu. The incision was level and smooth, as if the branch had been sliced into two using a precise machine.
His body had been obviously strengthened, but the transformation of the Wizard Core inside him was even more striking. Its size had expanded by twenty percent, but more importantly, the green orb now had traces of red interlaced within. According to the explanation on the stele, that meant that he was about to break through to the level of mid-level Heaven Wizard. When that time came, not only could he cultivate the mid-level Soul Tampering Technique, he would also be able to learn more Wizard Techniques.
The Wizard Core had undergone an obvious transformation, and the Poison Orb revolving around the Wizard Core had doubled in size!
After silently reciting the Poison Element Wizard Mantra, the Poison Orb started rotating quickly. In that instant, tendrils of black vapor almost invisible to the eye spread out from his ten fingers, quickly surrounding a small tree not far away, seeping into its bark.
Soon, the small tree withered bit by bit, its evergreen leaves rapidly yellowing. As a chill wind blew, the leaves danced in the air. The tree was shaking in the wind!
“The distance of the poison’s attack has increased to ten steps away! I finally broke through the first hurdle!”
Nodding in satisfaction, Yang Ling made a hand gesture and disappeared from where he stood. He had entered the space of the Wizard’s Pagoda and was closely examining the various crystal ores he had transported in.
The Crystal Marrow harbored a massive amount of energy. Ingesting one drop of it would have a greater effect than the Water from the Spring of Life!
Looking at the few drops of Crystal Marrow up close and feeling the majestic, pure energy, Yang Ling hesitated. Without a doubt, he would advance to the level of mid-level Heaven Wizard if he consumed a single drop.
Unfortunately, the Crystal Marrow was too precious, and no one knew if there were any left in the Five Colored Crystal Vein. At his current speed of training, he would be able to advance to mid-level Heaven Wizard even without consuming the Crystal Marrow. Since that was the case, he might as well keep the Crystal Marrow and consume it only if he needed to later.
Yuna, Alice, Sofia...
Even though he was not willing to use it easily, Yang Ling had decided to save a drop for each of the people closest to him. At his current level of ability, he would stand a chance if he were to encounter a sage level fighter, but Yuna, Alice and Sofia’s abilities were not as advanced. It was especially so for Alice. Even though her poison techniques had improved by leaps and bounds, her overall abilities were still too low for Yang Ling’s comfort. The outcome would be disastrous if she were to encounter any danger.
After coming to the decision, Yang Ling left the space of the Wizard’s Pagoda and asked Orlando to bring Yuna and Alice to him, so that they might consume a drop of the Crystal Marrow.
Yuna could feel the strange energy, and she trusted Yang Ling, so she did not hesitate, immediately swallowing her drop before sitting down to meditate, trying her best to assimilate the energy contained within the Crystal Marrow. As for Alice, she looked around in confusion, and then doubtfully at Yang Ling. “Brother Yang, what exactly is this?”
Looking at the young woman who had been training her poison techniques so fastidiously in the past couple of days, Yang Ling smiled and said excitedly, “This is a lethal poison I just made that could allow me to look into the souls of others. After you drink it, I will know exactly what you’re thinking about!”
A lethal poison that could allow him to look into the souls of others?
Alice didn’t catch his joke at first, but she came to her senses when she saw Yang Ling’s teasing expression. Yuna was already meditating, her concentration palpable. Even though she knew that Yang Ling was being facetious, she half wished that he’d been telling the truth. She hoped that she could one day create such a potion. She sighed quietly, and then she drank the drop of Crystal Marrow.
Yuna’s temperature shot up, her face reddening, as soon as the Crystal Marrow passed her lips. But Alice had a completely opposite reaction. Her temperature plummeted, and a layer of frost soon formed on her clothes. Yang Ling did not know if this was due to their differing constitutions, or the different approaches they took in their training.
Yang Ling took the precaution of preparing a handful of Magical Beast Orbs, in the event that either woman needed assistance during their very different transformations.
“Brother Yang, this is wonderful!” Yuna finally spoke, easing Yang Ling’s mind instantly. She slowly opened her eyes, and a tiny orb of purple fire appeared at each of her fingertips, without her even reciting any incantation. The purple fire gave off no familiar energy like regular magical fire. In fact, it emanated no energy at all, apparently, but every flicker gave Yang Ling a feeling of extreme danger.
Waving her hands back and forth gently, and watching the purple embers remain intact, Yuna said excitedly, “Brother Yang, this is a Purple Heavenly Fire, unique to the race of Heavenly Foxes. It is a sign of us having trained to the high-level Magical Tutor. It can incinerate the bodies of our enemies into ash, and even burn their souls!”
Yang Ling was elated. He knew that the Crystal Marrow would have an obvious effect, but he did not expect Yuna to reach high-level Magical Tutor from low-level Magical Tutor after consuming just that single drop. As long as she put in a little more effort, there was a possibility that she could advance to the level of Lesser Sage, or even become a sage level Spellcaster.
Yang Ling was visibly overjoyed, while Yuna was even more excited, unleashing the spells she was most adept at one after the other. Soon, she noticed that on top of her Magical Energy having been greatly boosted, the Illusory Mirage Twin World had also reached unprecedented heights. It could realistically mimic a desert or a primordial forest, teeming with Magical Beasts. The only unfortunate thing was that she still could not tame Magical Beasts. Yang Ling did not know why that was the case.
Alice had also experienced a transformation. She had reached the level of Great Spellcaster, all the way up from Magical Apprentice. Even though she could not cast any spells for the time being, she had a good amount of Magical Energy in her body, and her mental energy had grown surprisingly. Yang Ling believed that she would have much more success when it came to training her poison techniques in the future. But, like Yuna, she also remained unable to tame Magical Beasts to defend herself.
Could it be that one would not be able to tame Magical Beasts without the space of the Wizard’s Pagoda?
Yang Ling could only find one reason for the difference between them, no matter how hard he thought. Without the space of the Wizard’s Pagoda, one would not be able to truly cultivate Wizard Techniques or tame Magical Beasts like a Blood Wizard. He had originally intended to teach the people around him some beginner Wizard Techniques so they could tame a few high-level Magical Beasts to protect themselves. But it looked like the level of difficulty was far higher than he had thought.
Seeing Yang Ling deep in thought, Yuna came to his side and said, “Brother Yang, do you remember the Fatso we met on the way to Montson? Could it be that we are unable to tame Magical Beasts like what you had said because we do not have a necklace that sealed the Green-skinned Condor like the Fatso’s?”
The necklace that sealed the Green-skinned Condor?
Yuna’s idea made Yang Ling think. To some degree, summoning magic and taming Magical Beasts were similar, both of them storing Magical Beasts inside an enchanted space. Since even the half-assed Summoner that was Hans could store the Green-skinned Condor inside the necklace, then it was plausible for one to transfer a tamed Magical Beast into that space!
Then, is there a way for them to create a different space to seal in Magical Beasts?
Once he had faintly grasped the crux of the problem, Yang Ling quickly found a way to solve it. But even though he understood what the summoning spell really was through Hans, he was not sure how he could create a space to seal the Magical Beasts just yet.
He only found a way after sorting through all of the Wizard Techniques he had come across to date, and that was the Imprisonment Spell recorded on the stele on the second level of the Wizard’s Pagoda.
According to the records on the stele, the Imprisonment Spell could make their enemies immobile, as if they were comatose. It could also limit the space of activity of the enemies, like a prison cell. After a moment’s deliberation, Yang Ling reached out to pick up a thin piece of crystal, deciding to give the so-called Imprisonment Spell a try.
Just like the Restriction that allowed him to pull items out of thin air, the Imprisonment Restriction also required a large amount of Wizard Power and mental energy. But, now that he had multiple experiences with Restrictions, Yang Ling was prepared. He carefully controlled the speed of circulation of the Wizard Power in his body, infusing his Wizard Power into the thin piece of crystal as he absorbed the rich energy within the space of the Wizard’s Pagoda, quickly replenishing the Wizard Power and mental energy he was expending.
As a large amount of Wizard Power and mental energy poured into the crystal ore, symbols began to appear on the crystal’s surface, rotating continuously. With every rotation, the thin crystal shrank, contracting bit by bit...
