Chapter 113: Conquest Expert
Chapter 113: Conquest Expert
It was a dark tent occasionally illuminated by the flickering campfire outside. The guards would lower their heads and nod off every now and then.
Whispers could be heard around a few cages.
“Hey, Simaga!”
“Mm.”
“Prepare to escape.”
The group of slaves first liaised with one another before cutting through their ropes with a broken porcelain shard. Tonight, while the merchant convoy was camping here, was the best opportunity for them to escape.
The merchants had just dealt with a batch of slaves who attempted to escape, and that intimidated the others. Due to that, the security was slightly looser than usual.
“Let’s go!”
They snuck to a remote part of the camp and attempted to climb over the fence.
Woom! The surroundings lit up. Twenty guards carrying torches suddenly appeared and encircled them.
“Hmph!” A plump slave merchant looked at the horrified slaves with a gleeful smile. “Where do you think you’re going, hm?”
He waved his hand, and the guards charged forward with bats to beat the slaves up.
The slaves were malnourished and had suffered a lot of abuse. There was no way they were a match for the healthy and energetic guards. They were beaten to the point where their skin tore, and their flesh and blood mashed together.
Yet… the guards didn’t attack the youth named Simaga.
“SIMAGA!” One of the slaves, who was bruised from all the beating, spat out bloody sputum before roaring hatefully, “You betrayed us?! WHY?!”
Simaga coldly looked at them, not saying a word.
This escape saga soon came to pass.
“Simaga, it’s all thanks to you,” the slave merchant said with a smile in the tent. “You’re an obedient child. It was also thanks to you that we caught those Tang slaves who tried to escape the last time.”
“Not at all.” Simaga, who was all cold earlier, now had a fawning smile. “It’s my honor to be able to share my master's woes.”
“Here’s your reward.” The slave merchant tossed a dry and hard naan on the floor.
“Thank you, master.” Simaga gratefully picked up the naan.
“Boss.” It was only after Simaga left did the slave merchant’s retainer ask in confusion, “I still don’t get it. Why does he rat on the others?”
They had beaten Simaga less than the others in view of his appearance and background as it would be harder to fetch a good price for him if his looks were impaired, but still, it would have been better for him to escape than to stay with the slave merchant.
“Heh!” The slave merchant sneered. “That shows your shallow grasp on the human heart. He was a lofty prince before he was enslaved. Escaping with those slaves? We might see slaves as the same, but in his eyes, how can those lowly people be spoken on the same terms as him?”
The slave merchant shook his head and said, “But that’s a good thing for us. At least we won’t have to…”
Hu hu hu!
A powerful gale suddenly raged outside, toppling down everything inside the tent.
“What’s going on?” the slave merchant shouted with narrowed eyes. “There should be nothing wrong with the location we have chosen for our camp! Why is there such a huge gale?!”
Outside the camp, Miazova lowered its hand after casting ‘Violent Gale’.
It was just about to say something when a shadow suddenly flashed past it. Shu Yichao had charged forth like a released arrow whizzing forth.
Tsk, the horse is too slow!
Miazova raised its hand again to cast ‘Nimble Feet’, causing Shu Yichao’s speed to surge.
“Something is off. There’s no wind outside!” a guard shouted. “It’s an enemy attack!”
“The enemy has a mage!”
Shu Yichao charged up to the carriages fencing off the camp before leaping across to enter.
Psh!
Blood splattered wherever his sword sliced.
“An enemy has breached the camp!”
Soon, he was surrounded by soldiers wielding swords and spears. Some of them realized that he was a tough nut to crack from the heavy armor he was wearing, so they hurriedly took their potions out from their bags and downed the contents.
One of the soldiers charged forth, but a cold gleam flashed across his neck before he could swing his sword.
Shu Yichao dodged a spear thrust at him before ramming into another soldier, plunging his sword into the latter’s heart in the process. Then, he pushed aside the soldier before charging at the others.
He was like a tiger pouncing into a pack of sheeps. Wherever his blade fell, screams followed.
“Where is the mage?!” The guard leader’s eyes nearly popped out when he saw twelve of his men dying within moments. “Goddamnit! Where is he?!”
“Here, here!”
A middle-aged man wearing a mage robe rushed out of his tent while pulling his pants up.
“What took you so long?” the guard leader roared angrily. “So many of our men have died because you just wouldn’t stop fucking around with those harlots in your tent! Why don’t you just suffocate under their skirts instead?!”
“Don’t worry!” The middle-aged mage quickly tidied up his clothes before eyeing the charging Shu Yichao. “I’ll bring him down in a jiffy.”
His confidence was not unfounded. It was common for strong warriors to be taken down by a simple spell. He murmured a chant before directing his hands toward Shu Yichao, and a searing fireball quickly took shape.
Then, he saw Shu Yichao whipping out his bow and aiming an arrow at him.
Fuck! I forgot to wear my protection necklace!
Shoosh… Pak!
The arrow pierced through the middle-aged mage’s eye to impale his brain. He quietly crumbled to the ground just like that.
“!”
The guard leader stared at the collapsed middle-aged mage in disbelief.
Bloody hell! The mage we spent a fortune to hire died just like this?
Shoosh… Pak!
The guard leader didn’t grumble for long, for he quickly followed the middle-aged mage’s plight.
“MONSTER!!!”
The death of the mage and the guard leader caused the remaining guards to panic, and they anxiously scattered in all directions.
That was the right move to make.
If a hundred people simultaneously tried to run away from Shu Yichao in different directions, he wouldn’t be able to stop them even if he wanted to.
That being said…
“Slow!”
When Miazova saw the escaping soldiers, he cast an AOE Slow without any hesitation.
The escaping soldiers suddenly felt their legs becoming incredibly heavy, as if someone had tied heavy weights to them. Even lifting their legs to walk was strenuous, let alone run.
They could only watch helplessly as the black-silver tornado unleashed death upon them.
“Spare us!”
“Please don’t kill me!”
The soldiers were terrified. Not only were they unable to beat Shu Yichao in a battle, but they couldn’t flee even if they wanted to. All they could do was to beg for mercy.
But Shu Yichao turned a blind eye to their cries.
He slaughtered every last one of the soldiers before glancing at the minimap.
“I-incredible!” The caged Simaga widened his eyes in amazement.
That lady was able to bring down all those fierce guards with ease like a cat hunting mice. On top of that, I was only able to catch a brief glance, but… she’s gorgeous!
Simaga was enchanted.
She looks to be a Tang slave based on her appearance, which means that she isn’t worthy of a prince like me, but… how should I put it… how can anyone be this beautiful in the world?
Just then, Simaga noticed the plump slave merchant huffing toward the fence and climbing over it in an attempt to escape.
“Oi, he’s there! He’s trying to escape!” Simaga didn’t hesitate to betray his ‘master’.
Shu Yichao turned his head over and saw a meatball wriggling his way up the fence, so he raised his bow and unleashed an arrow.
Pak!
The slave merchant fell to the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
Then, Simaga saw the woman walking toward him with her eyes fixed on him. That made his cheeks heat up a little.
The elder was right. I am destined to become the king of the world. Look, a fortuitous encounter as soon as I stumble upon danger.
He couldn’t help envisioning the future. He would be rescued by this beauty, and they would undergo legendary adventures together. In the end, he would return triumphantly as a king and rise to become the greatest Khan of the grassland!
Tak!
Shu Yichao stopped before Simaga.
“This beauty over here,” Simaga spoke with forced composure, “As you can see, I am a prince of noble bloodline…”
Psh!
Blood splattered. Simaga’s eyes widened as he slowly collapsed to the ground.
“Spare…”
Shoosh!
“Whew, I cleared all the red dots on the map!” Shu Yichao glanced at the map. “Now, for the next step…”
Soul Summoning!
A freezing, eerie aura suddenly enveloped the surroundings as if the area had been plunged into an ice chamber.
Kak ka kak!
Some of the fallen corpses started to tremble.
Tsh! Tsh!
Their skeletons tore out of their flesh and rose. Their eyes blazed with dim soulfire.
Even the fallen Simaga in the cage rose up too.
?Huh? Is my host that strong?!?
System 12345 was stunned.
?How did he max out Simaga’s loyalty in less than a day?!?
It could hardly believe its eyes.
?Holy! Did I stumble upon an expert? Though I have to say my host seems wild this time…?
It recalled the huge fluctuations in the numbers earlier, and it could only think of one possibility.
My host must have rushed to where Simaga was right after receiving the mission. He bought Simaga over and immediately fed him the Potion of Gender Change.
Then, he thrust his thick and hard thing into the other party’s body, ramming so hard into her till she felt light-headed and weak in her limbs. She had to beg for mercy.
In the end, she submitted herself to him.
Amazing!
I only told my host to accomplish the beginner mission, but he actually went above and beyond to max out Simaga’s loyalty!
System 12345 was so moved that it hurriedly released the reward and upped its investment.
?My host, I’ll give you a huge mana crystal that’s the size of a millstone on top of your reward! Let’s see what else I can give you… Screw it! I’ll give you a bit of everything, so make sure you continue working hard, all right??
Soon, System 12345 realized that it had done something dumb.
There was no way to use a mana crystal that huge, but it was too late to take it back.
?Eesh… My host, I’ll send you the addresses of a couple of mana crystal processing facilities. Look for one that charges a lower price and have them process it for you.?
Information sent!
