Chapter 271

“You have had your supper. Would you like to go for a walk?" Dylan asked, to which Kendall replied with a smile, "It's not like I am stuffed, but if you want to keep me company, I would be more than glad to have a stroll with you."

Reaching out to gently pinch her cheek, he dotingly chided, "You are speaking as if I am insisting you go out for a walk."

"Yes, yes. I am the one who wants to go out, alright? Let me grab the wheelchair."

Kendall then stood up and pushed the wheelchair over.

After helping Dylan up and into the wheelchair, she brought him out of the building. She naturally wouldn't bring him somewhere far as the sky had already turned dark.

While they strolled around in the compound, she then brought him to the backyard.

A new swing appeared in front of her eyes as soon as they reached the backyard. There was also the swing chair she mentioned. The surrounding area was full of potted flowers, which only further beautified the place.

"A swing? A swing chair?"

Kendall let go of her hold and she left Dylan behind as she skipped over to the swing chair and sat down. After she shook it, the swing chair started to sway back and forth.

Dylan soon steered the wheelchair toward her.

"Dylan, when was the swing installed here?"

She remembered how he didn't answer her when she brought it up.

Thinking that he wouldn't satisfy her, she was definitely taken aback by the fact that the man enjoyed giving her surprises.

"I don't know when. All I did was tell Amos to arrange for it to be installed."

After saying that, Dylan pressed his palms against his wheelchair as he tried to stand up.

Instead of helping him, Kendall only waved him over from the swing.

With the invitation from his beloved wife, he suddenly found strength in his legs. It only took a while for him to reach her and sit down next to her.

Now that he was on the swing chair with her, she pushed her feet against the floor a few times, rocking the swing chair again.

"Dylan, just look at how round the moon is tonight. The night breeze feels cool too."

The heat wave from the morning was mostly gone during this hour. It felt especially refreshing when the wind blew.

Hearing her words, Dylan lifted his chin and looked at the moon. The view tonight was indeed splendid.

He then lowered his eyes to look at the woman beside him, his gaze turning soft.

Kendall was an enchanting sight on a fine night.

"Do you like it?" he asked suddenly in a gentle voice.

"I really do." She bobbed her head up and down. "I'm so happy, Dylan."

With a smile on his face, he reached out and pulled her into a hug. His voice was emotional when he murmured, "As long as you are happy."

The couple huddled together as they quietly watched the full moon in the sky.

Kendall would have loved to stay here for another few hours if it wasn't because it was already late at night.

Still, Dylan kept her company here for half an hour before they finally went inside.

Just as Dylan was going back upstairs, Kendall suddenly called out to him. "Darling."

Thinking that she was going to bid him goodnight, he stopped moving his wheelchair and turned to look at her.

"What is wrong?" he asked when she didn't utter another word.

Her face was now red as she wrung her fingers together. This was something she would do whenever

she was nervous.

"Darling, a-are you not going to stay with me?"

Dylan only looked at her without saying a word. He could tell there was an underlying message behind her words.

As he remained silent, Kendall had no choice but to anxiously play with her fingers. She was too embarrassed to be straightforward with what she wanted.

"Have you thought it through?" His voice finally rang out.

That only made her face turn redder, but she replied with a nod.

They were each other's legal spouses.

No one would say anything about them sharing a bed even if they hadn't had a wedding.

In fact, they did lie in the same bed before.

Dylan's gaze darkened when he saw her nod. Even his voice had lowered as he told her, "Take me to the room."

After she snapped out of it, she scurried toward him, and was about to bring him into her room when he suddenly told her to stop.

"What's wrong?"

Was he unwilling to do it now that she wanted it?

"Let's head upstairs. My bedroom is upstairs." He then added, "It will also be your room from now on."

The second floor was his world before he was rendered crippled.

Kendall hadn't had the chance to go into his room so far. Even though she had explored all the guest rooms here on the first day she moved in, she didn't get to see Dylan's bedroom and study, which doors were locked.

He did give her an exception that one time to enter his study.

"Is it because the bed in your bedroom is big enough?" Kendall chortled. Big enough so that we can roll around all we want.

"Kendall, you are a lady."

"Hehe, are you being shy?"

No longer bashful after deciding to become his real wife, she flirted with him as shamelessly as she normally would.

While she pushed him into the elevator, she cheered, "I really did find a treasure. How is a man in his early 30s still as innocent as a lamb?"

It was a fact that Dylan was a pure-hearted man.

Feeling slightly angered from the embarrassment of being teased, he retorted, "I wonder who was the one who said that I am an experienced man when I gave her a bath."

Kendall quickly became quiet at that and he flirted like a professional playboy.

She really would have thought that she had been tricked if she hadn't known that he was a naïve man who had never played around with women.

Dylan's room was the largest of all the rooms on the second floor.

On the right of the entrance was a mini bar, which had a wine cabinet filled with popular wines behind it. There were two high stools in front of the mini bar.

Other than the mini bar, there was also a small study, a cloakroom and a small living room. The bedroom was located at the innermost part of the floor. The bedroom also had a bathroom and a small balcony which faced the backyard. One would be able to enjoy the scenery of the backyard from the balcony.

There was also a big balcony aside from the small balcony. One end of the big balcony had a bookcase against the wall, and there was a desk in front of the bookcase. There was a laptop on the desk and a few books beside it.

In front of the desk were a computer chair and a foldable chair that would turn into a single bed when it was folded open.

On the other end, the other end of the big balcony seemed fairly empty.

As Kendall took in the view, she turned her head and suggested to the man sitting in the small living room. "Dylan, the outside of your big balcony looks a little too simple. You can put a few flower stands on the other end to grow some flowers. When you get tired from reading, you can water the flowers and enjoy their beauty. You can also keep two pet cats and play with them here."

He only replied casually, "You are the lady of the house. You can do anything you like if you want to switch it up, but forget the part about keeping cats at home."

The pets he had given her so far were all taken care of at Pet Palace.

He would never change the fact that he disliked furry animals.

"I know that you don't like cats or dogs." Kendall smiled. "I was just suggesting. I won't bring any home."

"I will find time to buy a few flower stands to put there, then. I will also get a few non-toxic potted flowers to grow here."

After he heard that, Kendall walked back to Dylan from the balcony with a smile. "Dylan, your room is bigger than other people's living rooms."

It took up half of the second floor's area.

"Do you like it here?" he asked.

"There is everything here. It is a little rigid, but I really like it."

Of course Kendall would feel it was rigid when all the decoration and furnishing were done according to his liking.

In fact, his place was filled with masculinity. After all, there wouldn't be another female here other than Kendall.
