Chapter 533 - 533 Always Been Serious

533 Always Been Serious

Zhang Yi Hai planned to take the first flight to Y City. However, with his girlfriend’s presence, Zhang Yi Hai decided to prolong his stay in Capital City and told his mother that he still had a few matters to settle before he could come back.

His mother did not find anything strange as this was his final year and he won’t be coming back to the university until his graduation.

However, his sister who knew about his relationship with Fang Su Jin could already guess the reason he wanted to stay. After all, Fang Su Jin did mention that she would be away for a couple of days.

“Su Jin, I thought that you were busy with something... it turned out that you went to Capital City to play,” Zhang Li Xue spoke to her friend on the phone.

Fang Su Jin glanced at her boyfriend who was sitting in the driver’s seat and coughed. “What are you saying? I do have an appointment to meet with my mentor. It was a coincidence.”

“I think you’re planning to go on a date and used your mentor as your excuse.” Zhang Li Xue giggled happily, finding a chance to tease her best friend.

The besties chatted for a while before they hang up.

Fang Su Jin turned to her boyfriend and heaved a sigh. “I can’t believe that your sister’s wedding banquet will be in less than two months.”

These days, Zhang Li Xue was especially busy handling her wedding matter.

.....

Initially, Fang Su Jin thought that Zhang Li Xue would want something that was related to basketball. After all, Zhang Li Xue was basketball-crazy and the couple seemed to like playing basketball very much.

However, Fang Su Jin found out that Zhang Li Xue was insisting to have a fairy look during her ceremony. The decorations and the theme would be fairy tale like

“Time fly so fast,” Fang Su Jin commented. She could still remember how in the beginning, Zhang Li Xue had not recognized Bai Qi as the little boy who often played basketball with her in kindergarten.

Zhang Yi Hai stole a few glances at his girlfriend and pursed his lips. The space between his brow creased a little bit as he seemed to be pondering about something.

After driving for a while, the vehicle finally reached its destination.

Fang Su Jin looked out the window and inhaled a deep breath when she saw her mentor’s house.

Today, Fang Su Jin planned to meet her mentor and showed him the new paintings she had produced a few days ago.

Initially, she stayed in her studio and painted just to make an excuse to come to Capital City. Now that she was here, of course, she have to visit her mentor and showed him her new paintings.

Zhang Yi Hai alighted from the driver’s seat and walked around the vehicle before helping his girlfriend with the door.

“That’s right, what will happen to your apartment and your car once you return to Y City?” Fang Su Jin asked.

Zhang Yi Hai patted her hair. “I still have a few family members in Capital City,” Zhang Yi Hai said. “I will ask them to look after them.”

Fang Su Jin recalled how Zhang Yi Hai had invited a lot of people to come to her exhibition in Capital City a few months ago. The event received a lot of coverage from the media. Since then, her name became slightly popular.

“Here, take this.” Zhang Yi Hai passed her the drawing tubes where Fang Su Jin had kept her paintings. Then, he turned to carry a few gifts they bought for Fang Su Jin’s mentor.

As Zhang Yi Hai closed the cargo space, Fang Su Jin could not help but notice the strange way her boyfriend was looking at her.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

Zhang Yi Hai stretched his hand to hold his girlfriend’s hand. “I suddenly have this thought. “A teasing smile curled on his face. “Su Jin, don’t you think that this felt as if we were both meetings our elders for the first time?”

Fang Su Jin lowered her gaze to look at the health supplement that Zhang Yi Hai had bought yesterday. Heat crawled to her face as she thought about his words. “Don’t talk nonsense.” Fang Su Jin poked him on the waist.

“How is this nonsense?” Zhang Yi Hai leaned over and spoke, “Su Jin, my final exam result will come out a month later. Don’t forget what you have promised me.”

Her cheek was burning. “We agreed to let our parents know that we are dating. It’s not like we are going to get married so soon.”

Zhang Yi Hai raised his brow. “You don’t want to get married?”

Fang Su Jin lowered her gaze, wondering just how did the two of them were suddenly talking about marriage. “I didn’t say that.”

A helpless sigh escaped him. Zhang Yi Hai stared at his girlfriend for a brief second. Then, he tightened his grip on Fang Su Jin’s hand before kissing the back of her hand.

When he looked at her again, Fang Su Jin did not miss the serious look on his face.

“Then, let me be clear to you now,” Zhang Yi Hai spoke. “Su Jin, from the beginning I approached you, marriage has always been my goal.”

Her heartbeat accelerated and her breathing turned heavier upon hearing his words. Fang Su Jin wanted to look away but found that she could not avert her eyes from him. Her heart felt as if it was going to explode anytime soon.

“Su Jin, I have always been serious about you.” Zhang Yi Hai wanted Fang Su Jin to be prepared. He wanted to know that from the beginning, he has never tried to play around despite his younger age.

His gaze was too penetrating. In the end, Fang Su Jin looked away. “I know.”

A faint smile curled on his lips. Zhang Yi Hai squeezed her hand gently and spoke, “Should we go in and meet Teacher Jiang?”
