682 You Should Ask Your Classmate

Fu Chen gave the siblings a look over and he had a few questions going on in his mind. However, when he looked at Bai Qi again, Fu Chen nodded at him respectfully. “Hello, Doctor Bai.”

Bai Xi Xi was surprised that Fu Chen knew her brother. But then again, she felt that it was not strange as her brother was a doctor. Her gaze shifted to the room where Fu Chen was seen coming out from a while ago. She was suddenly curious to know about his relative who was staying there.

Bai Qi nodded. “Are you here to deliver some food for your mother?”

He had seen this boy visiting his patient a few times and found out that he was the nephew of the patient. The person who was caring for the patient was this boy’s mother. Other than Fu Chen and his mother, Bai Qi had never seen anyone else visiting the patient.

Recently, Fu Chen would often come to the hospital to send some food and necessities for his mother.

“Mhm...” Habitually, Fu Chen scratched the tip of his nose as he was feeling a little anxious. He glanced at Bai Xi Xi and coughed. “I should go now.”

“Alright.”

The three of them headed to the elevator together. Bai Qi pressed the button and glanced at the tall boy again. He smiled as their gazes met.

Their ride in the elevator was especially quiet. Bai Xi Xi glanced at Fu Chen and wondered why did he seem a little anxious.

.....

Finally, the elevator stopped with a ding.

Fu Chen walked out of the elevator and looked at the siblings first. “I’ll be going first.” He watched as Bai Qi nodded and turned around to leave.

Once the boy was out of their sight, Bai Xi Xi turned to her brother again. “Brother, let’s go.”

The siblings then walked to the cafeteria together. Fortunately, there were not too many people around the cafeteria when they arrived.

Bai Qi let his sister- wait at the table while he went to buy chicken wings for his wife.

Initially, it was Bai Xi Xi who wanted to buy them. However, her brother insisted that he was going to pay for them.

It did not take Bai Qi a long time to return to his sister’s side. He placed the packed chicken wings for his wife on the table along with a cup of mango juice for his sister.

“Have a drink. The cafeteria’s mango juice is quite good recently.”

Bai Xi Xi took a few sips from the cup and raised her head to look at her brother. Her brow rose inquiringly upon noticing her brother’s gaze.

Bai Qi smiled, “That boy from earlier... Fu Chen? He is your classmate? I don’t think that I have seen him before.”

As Bai Xi Xi’s guardian, Bai Qi would sometimes visit his sister at school. His sister’s classmates did not change that much from last year and he would notice if there was a new student.

Moreover, Bai Qi has always been attentive toward his sister. Because Bai Xi Xi grew up without a parent, Bai Qi wanted to pay more attention to his sister.

“Mmm... He’s a newly transferred student,” Bai Xi Xi spoke. “It was only last month that he started to go to our school.”

Bai Qi seemed to be in deep thought. He had seen Fu Chen’s mother and aunt. It seemed that the boy’s aunt was admitted to the hospital around last month as well.

In the beginning, they could not find a guardian for that woman. It was a few days later that his patient’s sister-in-law came to look after her.

Bai Qi did not know much about his patient’s affair, but it seemed that other than this sister-in-law, his patient had no other family left.

“Brother, I heard that Fu Chen’s aunt was admitted to the hospital,” Bai Xi Xi spoke. “What happened to his aunt?”

Her brother was a surgeon. Seeing that Fu Chen had appeared at the hospital, Bai Xi Xi guessed that his aunt’s illness should require surgery.

Bai Qi smiled. “She was brought to the hospital after an accident. If you wanted to know more, you should ask your classmate.”

After a while, Bai Qi changed their topic.

Because of his work schedule, he did not get to spend a lot of time with his sister. Since his sister came to visit him, Bai Qi thought that he could talk to his sister a little bit.

Of course, their conversation revolved around his sister’s studies and what she was planning to do in the future.

Bai Xi Xi did not stay around the hospital for too long. Once she had finished her mango juice, Bai Xi Xi decided to go home and deliver the chicken wings to her sister-in-law.

The siblings parted in front of the elevator.

Initially, Bai Qi wanted to send his sister to the entrance, but he received a call from his colleague, asking him to return to the department quickly.

Bai Xi Xi walked to the entrance while browsing through her phone to call for a driver.

She was about to reach the entrance when she noticed that Fu Chen was standing in front of the entrance, seemingly waiting for a car.

After a brief hesitation, Bai Xi Xi walked over to Fu Chen and spoke, “Fu Chen?”

The boy turned around and was surprised to see her as well. “Class Monitor. You are still here?” When they parted earlier, Fu Chen had expected that Bai Xi Xi would leave the hospital.

“Mmm... I was visiting the hospital’s cafeteria.” Bai Xi Xi gave the man a look over. “What about you? Why are you here as well?”

Fu Chen scratched the tip of his nose. “I was going to leave, but my mom called and ask me to bring back some stuff.” He raised the paper bag in his hand.

Just then, Fu Chen’s phone buzzed, signaling that the driver he requested had arrived. He gave Bai Xi Xi a look over and asked, “Are you going home as well? If your ride isn’t here yet, you can share a cab with me.”

Bai Xi Xi glanced at her phone and saw that none of the drivers had picked up her request yet. “Alright then.”
