Chapter 698 - 698 Apologize!
698 Apologize!
Jian Chi’s palm started to sweat. He raised his head to look at the adults and saw that everyone was looking at him with their scrutinizing eyes.
He definitely did not expect that he would be caught so early and easily.
Yesterday, he let his friends spread rumors about Bai Xi Xi and Fu Chen. Seeing that their teachers were not taking any action other than giving an announcement made him feel that their teachers did not care about it at all.
Jian Chi thought that he wanted to make things bigger and decided to post on the school forum.
However, he did not expect that the post would be taken down after a few hours. But fortunately, many students had seen the photos and a lot of people scolded them both.
He thought that today, the teachers were not going to do anything as well. But, who would have thought that he would be called by the principal for this?
“Jian Chi!” Principal Mu shouted his name loud and clear, startling him. “You should apologize!”
Jian Chi pursed his lips. Of course, he was not willing to apologize! He did not think that he had done anything wrong.
Fu Chen stepped out and looked at the Principal with calm eyes, “Principal Mu, may I ask him a question?”
.....
The principal glanced at Zhang Li Xue before nodding to Fu Chen. “Sure. Go ahead.”
Fu Chen stopped in front of Jian Chi and asked, “Why are you doing this? Jian Chi, both Bai Xi Xi and I never had an enmity with you. Why do you want to create rumors about us this way?”
Jian Chi sneered. “Was it really a rumor? It was a fact that the two of you are walking home together, wasn’t it? If it was not because the two of you were in a relationship, why would you both be walking in the park together?”
Principal Mu stared at Jian Chi in anger.
Jian Chi’s words, wasn’t he already admitted that he was responsible for those rumors? And this boy was still unwilling to admit that he had made a mistake!
“Bai Xi Xi’s house is quite close to mine. What is wrong if we walked home together?” Fu Chen saw that Jian Chi did not seem to believe his words. He turned to Teacher Du and spoke, “If you don’t believe it, you can check with Teacher Du.”
“That’s right. Their house was quite close,” Teacher Du said. “Bai Xi Xi would have to walk past Fu Chen’s housing area before she would reach her house.” Teacher Du remembered that this was the reason she had asked Bai Xi Xi to send a few notes to Fu Chen.
Meanwhile, Jian Chi still did not think that their relationship was that simple.
“Jian Chi, since you have admitted that you have spread those rumors, you have to apologize to both Bai Xi Xi and Fu Chen,” Teacher Du tried to coax the boy. After all, Jian Chi was still her student.
Jian Chi pursed his lips, not wanting to say a word.
There was a long silence in the room.
Knock! Knock!
The knocking sound on the door broke the silence between them. The door was pushed open and a tall, middle-aged man entered the room.
Jian Chi subconsciously took a step back when he saw the man. He lowered his gaze, not daring to meet with the man’s eyes.
The man swept his gaze at everyone in the room. There was a look of surprise in his eyes when he saw Zhang Li Xue. However, he quickly hid his feelings away. His eyes stopped at Jian Chi for a few seconds. Then, he turned to look at the Principal. “Good morning, Principal Mu.”
Principal Mu looked at the man with an inquiring look in his eyes. “You...”
“I am Jian Xuan.” The man paused to look at Jian Chi. “Jian Chi’s father.”
Principal Mu put on a smile on his face. “So, you are Jian Chi’s father. Please, come in and have a seat.”
Bai Xi Xi looked at the older man up and down. Jian Chi’s face resembled this man a lot, but Bai Xi Xi thought that their temperament was not the same. Jian Chi’s father seemed a lot calmer.
“It was Jian Chi’s homeroom teacher who called me to come over. Principal Mu, may I know what is going on?” Jian Xuan asked. He looked at his son again. “Did my son cause you any trouble?”
Principal Mu glanced at Jian Chi. Then, he started to explain what was going on and what Jian Chi had done.
Jian Xuan’s eyes lit with anger. However, the man remained calm until Principal Mu finished what he wanted to say. His gaze fell on Jian Chi again when he heard that there was evidence of his wrongdoing.
Once the principal had finished what he wanted to say, Jian Xuan turned to look at his son again. “Jian Chi, you should apologize to your friends.”
“Dad!”
He narrowed his eyes and repeated in his deep voice, “Apologize!”
Jian Chi gritted his teeth tightly. However, he was still not willing to say a word to apologize to both Bai Xi Xi and Fu Chen. Moreover, he did not want to bow down to Fu Chen.
But, under his father’s line of gaze, Jian Chi had no other choice but to apologize. Otherwise, the person who would be in trouble was him. Jian Chi could almost guess what will happen to him once he go back home.
Taking a deep breath, Jian Chi turned to both Fu Chen and Bai Xi Xi slowly and spoke, “I’m sorry.” His eyes narrowed. He was not willing to do this.
“Principal Mu, this isn’t enough.” Zhang Li Xue stepped up. “This student had made rumors about Bai Xi Xi and Student Fu Chen, smearing their reputation.”
Jian Xuan looked up with a faint smile on his face. “Mrs. Bai, then, what is it that you suggest?”
Zhang Li Xue was not surprised that Jian Chi’s father would recognize her. “Jian Chi needed to make a public apology in front of everyone in school. Otherwise, I won’t be able to let this go.”
Jian Chi inhaled a deep breath upon hearing her words.
A public apology in front of everyone?
No.
This was something that he cannot do!
