Chapter 148: Alice

Ten years ago, Mimi had started working with an intentional AI company known as Got AI. They were excellent in the area of AI and produced a lot of AI that could help in domestic work around the house and workplaces. At the peak of their development something went wrong with one of their best developed AI. The AI name Alice was almost like a real human being with feelings and speech. But, Alice suddenly started malfunctioning and went out of control. Alice destroyed the big laboratory because it fell in love with one of the workers and because it was an AI it was impossible to be free. After Alice bombed the laboratory and attempted to run away with the worker, it was caught by the DNIS and later dismantled.

Mimi Garcia was a genius researcher back then even after betraying the Black Fox Society. She stole most of the files from the laboratory and returned to F Country to start her own research. There she met Gastus whom she managed to convince and started a laboratory with him. Four years ago, they produced an aphrodisiac which was in high demand in most clubs in F Country, but because they miscalculated a few chemicals effects the drug became dangerous and caused a lot of bad effects which led to a major backlash from the public.

To prevent any leads that could point to them, Mimi used her father who was already the governor at that time and managed to cover up their misdeeds.

After she returned to D-City she found out that a certain girl had a rare blood type with a strong Rhesus factor that could be used to clone AI into humans. Her investigations led to August Maijune and she realised that she was the daughter of the renowned scientist who passed away. Mimi used her father to get in touch with all the people she needed in order to get close to August Maijune. Her main target.

First, she used Madam Myers who was too focused on destroying the Saint family and Josh Saint who was just a prodigal son. Her first target was Aaron Saint but she knew it was a dead end so she changed her plans and went with Josh Saint.

Now she was left with just the body of August Maijune to complete her AI clones and a lot of things went south when Madam Myers and her father were caught. Mimi Garcia read a thesis of a professional scientist who mentioned that DID and the signs of psychopath could be traced to family history and could be transferred to clones by using the blood and body parts of the patient hence Mimi intended to develop a perfect clone of AI who could not be stopped or controlled. Her power and fame would shoot up when she becomes the first person to make an AI clone that could have all six senses and the ability to interact with humans. She would be powerful. Mimi knew her father was just a weak man who was capable of spilling the beans so she decided to get rid of him. As for Madam Myers, the old woman had no idea she was just a pawn being used and was smug. She knew little so Mimi didn't bother much about her.

In any case, Mimi Garcia was in a rush and had to resort to her last option which was Alice.

Alice real name Julieta was August 's best friend and classmate who was presumed dead after an accident. At that time, Mimi Garcia happened to chance upon her and saved her so Alice owed her life to Mimi Garcia and did her bidding.

Mimi Garcia personally trained Alice into a professional killer and only sent her on special assignments. Off course, Alice had no memories of her own except for the time she spent with Mimi Garcia.

Mimi Garcia entered another room and walked to a man tied up. She removed the sack covering the face of the man revealing Josh Saint. Josh Saint coughed and looked at Mimi.

''How dare you kidnap me? Do you think my grandfather will let you off when he finds out that you have me?'' Josh Saint said.

''You are merely a human waste. Who has time for you? Josh Saint, you should be lucky I chose you to mess with''. Mimi said coldly.

''What?'' Josh Saint was shocked.

''Right. You are useless to me. But, I intend to use you to lure someone here. Guess who that is?'' Mimi Garcia asked.

''Aaron Saint? You won't be able to. Unlike me, Aaron Saint is powerful. You will never be able to get to him through me''. Josh Saint said.

''Really? Well, you are wrong. Aaron Saint isn't really my target. My real target has always been one person. August Maijune. Believe it or not, she will come here to save you. When that time comes…? Alice come in''.

Alice walked into the room dressed in black outfit.

''She will take her down''. Mimi Garcia added. Josh Saint looked at Alice and recognised her.

''You…are you not Dr. Sam's daughter whom everyone thought was dead? How are you still alive? Wait. Are you going to use her as bait to lure August Maijune here? Tell me. Just what exactly do you want August Maijune for?''

''So many questions, Josh Saint, so many questions. Were you always this talkative?'' Mimi Garcia asked with a smile.

''You are the real monster, Mimi Garcia. I never thought you could be this kind of person''. Josh said.josei

''Really?'' Mimi Garcia removed a burner phone and made a call.

''Now, I am going to make a call to your brother. Soon, everything will be over''. Mimi Garcia said and dialled the number.

Liyah looked up when she heard the metallic gate opened and met with Rowena's gaze. Rowena smiled and went to sit across her.

When Rowena asked Aaron Saint to protect her because her life was in danger, she promised to tell Liyah the truth in return hence Liyah decided to visit her and find out everything herself.

''Is been a while. How are you doing? Is life in there okay? I hope no one is bullying you, right?'' Liyah asked nervously. Despite everything, Liyah couldn't help but care about Rowena. When they were young, she and Rowena were close before their grandmother started treating them unfairly.

Rowena chuckled and stared at Liyah. She was still the Liyah she knew. Always still worried about the people who hurt her.

''Why? Will you let them let me out if I say that someone was bullying me?'' Rowena said.

''No''. Liyah said.

''Then, why are you even asking? Why are you such a busy body? Do you have that much free time?'' Rowena asked.

''No. I am a very busy person you know? I barely have time to eat because of how busy I am. I have a clothing launch coming up''. Liyah said proudly.

''Good for you. Keep being busy and make sure you stay happy, Liyah. I sincerely wish you happiness in your marriage life''.

''I am very happy in my marriage. Leo is the best man there is. He treats me so well''. Liyah said.

''I know. You are glowing Liyah and I am happy for you. You may not believe me but, I think this place was the perfect place for me. It made me realise how messed up my life has been. How cruel I was. Everything I did, I am paying for them but, I like it that way. I like it that I am paying for my sins. I have been wanting to tell you this, Liyah. I am sorry. For everything. For joining hands with Mandy to destroy you. For allowing greed to blind me. Actually, you never did anything wrong. I was the one who allowed myself to be manipulated and used. I felt wronged and thought the world was unfair to me when in reality I was the one who made me what I was.

Liyah, after spending two years here, I have realised that this was what I really needed in order to see my wrongdoings.

I admit, at the beginning I was filled with malice and hatred. I told myself that I would kill you and August Maijune. I had a lot of evil thoughts but after a while I began to think a lot and came to this conclusion. I made myself the way I was. The decisions I made, the steps I took. It was all me and no one so I had no right to blame anyone.

Mandy tried to kill me while I was here. I didn't know it at first but, every night I would find suspicious people trying to harm me. I thought it was mere bullying and didn't pay attention to it but when I saw the news about August Maijune's kidnapping I realised it was all her. I didn't want to die because it was unfair. I had to reach out to Aaron Saint and asked for his help. I'm sorry I still had to use you as leverage. I just had to do something, anything''
