Chapter 251: 'Jerk and Psycho'

Kristine was signing the payment and discharge papers of her three friends when Ronald arrived. He saw her the moment he entered the hospital.

''Kris, what happened to your sisters? Are they alright?'' he was on his way to pick up his friend at the workplace when he received her call and decided to go over after taking his friend, Robyn who was currently walking lazily into the hospital.

''They are fine. We ate hot pot and the chili made them a little sick. They will be out soon''josei

''That's a relief. I was worried''

''I'm sorry for calling you suddenly like this''

''It's alright. I am glad you called me. But, how did you get my number?''

''You wrote it in my diary, remember? I opened it to put some money inside and I saw the number. That's how I was able to call you if not, I wouldn't have''

''I'm glad that came in handy. I casually wrote it but didn't think you would open the back of the diary anytime soon''

''It really came in handy''

''So, where are they?''

''They should be out of the emergency room soon. The doctor in charge is someone Chloe knows, he giving them a lecture inside. They would kill me if I stayed back and laughed so I came to handle the payment and discharge papers. Let's go to them''

''Sure, let's go''

''Ronny'' a voice called from behind them and they turned.

''Thought you were never coming inside at all'' Ronald said to his friend, Robyn.

''Who is he?'' Kristine asked and looked at Robyn.

''He is my best friend, Robyn Anomah''

''Hi, Kristine. Fancy finally seeing you'' Robyn stretched his hand towards Kris and winked at her.

''How do you know me and my name?'' She asked him after shaking his hand.

''He told me about you. He is quite…''

''Robyn, that's enough. Kris, let's go and meet your sisters'' Ronald glared at Robyn who had a sly smirk on his face. He sighed walking away with Kris while Robyn followed with his usual lazy steps.

Looking at his friend who tried to hush him up, he realised the girl didn't know about the true feelings of his friend.

Following behind quietly was boring for him so instead of going with them, he looked at the OPD benches and went to sit on one of them.

''Hey, best friend, I will wait for you here'' he called out to Ronald.

''Do whatever you want, man'' Ronald replied.

''Your friend is a little weird or is it just me?'' Kristine asked Ronald as they neared the emergency room.

''He is indeed weird but he is a good man''

''I know. You wouldn't be friends with just anyone'' Kristine said to him. She didn't know why but she felt that he was a good person.

''How can you tell I a good person and won't make friends with just anyone?''

''I can tell if someone is good by watching their actions. You are a good person''

''You have good eyes but poor taste. How could you not recognise the man you were with wasn't a good person?''

''Hey, you, sly fox''

Kristine and Ronald looked ahead to see the three ladies walking towards them. When they saw Ronald, Brenda who was about to scold Kristine stopped and nodded at him.

''Hi, ladies'' Ronald smiled at them.

''Hi, Ronald'' Jenny smiled sheepishly and turned to glare Kristine who immediately hid behind Ronald.

''How are you ladies, doing?'' Ronald asked them.

''We are fine now, but someone here will definitely hear from us when we get home'' Chloe said and smiled at Kristine.

''Aye, there is no need to be so angry. It was just a small prank. I didn't know your stomachs had become so sensitive, I'm sorry'' Kristine went forth to hold Chloe and Brenda's hands, ''let's go home. I will prepare a tasty detox for you''

''That's a giving, considering the fact that you duped us of $ 600 dollars'' Brenda added.

''Let's go, I came with a friend of mine. We will send you back home before we go'' Ronald said to them. he took the purses from Jenny and held them as they walked towards the OPD again.

When they got to the OPD, Ronald called out to Robyn and he stood up. time seemed to have stopped the moment he saw Brenda.

''Jerk Robyn?'' Brenda said with an obvious frown.

''Psycho woman?'' Robyn also said.

The rest looked at them with puzzled expressions.

''Is he someone you know?'' Kristine was the first to ask Brenda.

''Do you two know each other?'' Ronald also asked.

''He is that jerk who is always getting on my nerves at the workplace'' Brenda answered.

''She is that woman who thinks she knows just about everything and anything'' Robyn answered.

''You mean that psycho? Sorry, those are his words'' Ronald said immediately.

''Psycho?'' Brenda glared at him, ''you've been calling me a psycho outside the workplace as well?''

''You always called me a jerk too. I didn't say anything about that''

''That's because you are a real jerk''

''What about you?''

''Wait, what is going on here?'' Jenny asked starring between Brenda and Robyn.

''What is happening is that Brenda just met her enemy, but, I really didn't know he was this handsome'' Chloe said.

''I know right?'' Kristine replied.

Brenda and Robyn were still arguing and Ronald decided to stop them.

''Guys, we are in the hospital. Let's go outside'' he said to them.

''This jerk is your friend? I really have to consider your friendship with Kris then''

''Wow, you aren't going to separate the two of them just because you and I don't get along, right? Because that would be so petty'' Robyn said to Brenda.

''I am just this petty, what can you do about it, you asshole'' she said and walked out.

''Ronald, I will call you later. It is not safe to leave Brenda when she is angry'' Kristine said and turned to Chloe and Jenny, ''let's go''

''Oh, see you later, Ronald'' Jenny said and turned to Robyn, ''you just dug your own grave because having an angry Brenda isn't such a nice idea''

'''Really not a nice idea'' Chloe added and they went out.

''Really Robyn? You just had to spoil all my hard work?''

''Ronny, that is a total nut job. You have no idea how many times she had gone against my orders in the office. She said I stole her promotion from her and that she will make sure she goes against everything I do and that is what she is doing''

''I thought you said you were attracted to her?''

''That is a totally different case. She is so stubborn''

''Let's go'' Ronald shook his head and walked away.

Brenda went to the fridge and removed a can beer and opened it. She gulped almost half of it by the time the others had entered the apartment. She was pacing about in the hall as she continued to sip the beer in her hand.

''Wow, slow down on the beer, girlfriend. You just got out from the hospital'' Kristine snatched the beer from her.

''That jerk. He dared to call me a psycho. He called me a psycho'' Brenda sad feeling furious.

''We all heard that, but you also called him a jerk'' Jenny said as she sat down.

''He is a real jerk. You girls need to see how he goes about ordering me in the office, especially when we go out to the field''

''A handsome jerk; why didn't you tell us he was such a nice piece of meat?'' Chloe asked.

''Chloe, seriously? Is that what is important right now?'' Brenda raised a brow at Chloe who didn't seem to mind at all.

''That is not what is important right now, but you need to calm down, first'' Kristine pulled Brenda over to sit by her side, ''you should think about how to make things work between the two of you. You will be seeing more of him especially now that he is a close friend of Ronald and Ronald is my friend, you know''

''I can't believe you hate such nice piece of art, though'' Jenny said and Chloe gave her a thumps up.

''I hate that man'' Brenda screamed furiously.

I tell you Ronny, I am not the only one she behaves like this to. She avoids working with the men in our work place. She had also made all the men to avoid her, because of her sharp tongue''

''You should calm down first and think of how to make things less tense between the two of you because you will be seeing more of her. She is Kris' best friend and more like a sister to her and you know how much Kris means to me''
