There was no surprise on his face, as if he had already anticipated her arrival. His gaze resembled that of a pet owner welcoming their wayward pet home.

A sense of reluctance grew in Vicky’s heart, and she remained rooted to the spot.
Tyler’s eyes narrowed as he observed her feeble struggle, and a faintly mocking smile tugged at his thin lips. “What’s the matter? Do you want me to come to you instead?”

Vicky instinctively resisted when Elijah’s words echoed in her mind.
“I used to think that Tyler and the Harrisons operated in different domains, so he wouldn’t have the means to do anything to us… but I’ve severely underestimated him. Although our fields are different, his connections alone make him extremely formidable. With the support of the Starlings, he easily crushed us with a flick of a wrist. “I was the one who crossed you. The Harrisons have nothing to do with this. You could have come after me for revenge, so why do you keep targeting the innocent people around me?!”
