“Mother, has Mister Hart given any instructions lately?” It was Elijah’s father speaking.
Old Madam Harrisons responded, “No. We can lay back for the next few days.”
Missus Harrisons complained, ‘This is all Elijah’s fault. Why did he have to provoke Tyler Hart, of all people? I mean, out of all the women he could have chosen, why did he have to pick Tyler Hart’s woman to put on an act with?”
Elijah protested, “At that time, Vicky said she was already divorced… and I was just asking her to help with the act. Who could’ve known it would anger Tyler Hart? It’s not entirely my fault either. It’s also Grandmother’s fault for deceiving me about having a terminal illness just to get me married. I had no choice but to hastily find someone.”
“Enough. There’s no point in talking about these things now.” Old Madam Harrisons sighed. “We’ll do what Tyler instructs us to do. Although the acting part has been tiring, at least we’ve managed to recover the losses our family incurred before, so it’s not a bad thing.”

I never expected Vicky to hold such significance in Tyler Hart’s heart… It’s truly extraordinary.” After a pause, she added, “Since Tyler Hart cares so much about Vicky, do you think… we can take advantage of her to gain more benefits for the Harrisons?”
Elijah hurriedly said, “Grandmother, please don’t do anything rash. You don’t know how ruthless he can be… He’s not someone to be trifled with. If we use Vicky to blackmail him, not only will we end up with nothing, but we’ll also suffer severe consequences.”

Vicky scanned the shocked and uneasy expressions of the Harrisons. “Surprised?”
The Harrisons exchanged glances, unable to hide their guilty expressions.
It was Old Madam Harrisons who regained her composure before everyone else and shot Vicky a friendly smile. “Vicky, what brought you here?”
Vicky studied the kind look on Old Madam Harrisons’ face and felt out of place.
It was no wonder that the Harrisons had been so kind to her that it barely felt real. It was not until this moment that she realized everything had been an act.
Not wanting to beat around the bush any longer, she said, “I heard everything.”
Old Madam Harrisons looked away for a split moment and sighed, “Since you’ve overheard us, there’s no point in hiding anything. Vicky, please come over.”
Vicky remained standing in place for a while before walking over.
She had never imagined coming across the truth twice in a row on the same day.
Choosing to sit on a seat that was furthest away from the others, she said, “Go on, then. When did you all start partnering with Tyler to fool me?”
