Avery sighed with relief when she noticed Tyler did not spare Vicky a glance at all.

‘Maybe it was just a stupid mistake on his part. He probably doesn't have any feelings for Vicky anymore,’ she thought.

She was about to get into the car when Tyler's phone suddenly rang.

"Mister Tyler, I've already done what you've asked me to,” said his assistant respectfully from the other end of the phone.

“Good,” uttered Tyler lightly. After he hung up the phone, he turned to Avery, "I need to do something, so you head home first.”

Avery's face fell with disappointment. In the four years they had been together, this kind of thing happened too many times for her liking. Tyler would always leave after receiving a call.

At first, she suspected he was cheating on her, so she tailed him for a few days and even hired a private investigator to follow him. However, her worries were unfounded since the only place he went to was his office, and he would come straight home after that.

Even though she was not happy, she knew it would be unreasonable for her to kick up a fuss then since there was never any evidence that showed Tyler met up with other women at all.

“Alright. Go ahead. I'll be fine going back by myself,” she lied.

"Okay."

Tyler was about to walk off when Avery suddenly called him.

“Tyler!”

He turned back to look at her. "Yes?"

Avery walked up to him with a smile and stood on tiptoe to kiss him. However, Tyler turned his face away, so the kiss landed on his cheek instead.

Avery was obviously hurt. "Tyler..."

Tyler ignored the hurt in her tone and said, “I'll be going, then. Avery bit her lip as she watched him leave. Finally, she could not take it anymore.

“Tyler, I understand you're busy with work, but why won't you kiss or touch me ever since we got married? Do you hate me, or is it because you still have feelings for someone else? Avery's angry accusations caused Tyler to pause in his tracks. He turned back and said calmly, “Avery, I've already explained to you.”

Not only did they not have physical intercourse, but they did not even kiss in all the years they had been married. At the thought of that, Avery's eyes started to turn red.

"If you're such a conservative, then how did you end up with Vicky that night? Do you still have feelings for her?"

Tyler's eyes wavered for a second, but he did not look guilty.

"Oh, so you knew about that.”

His entitled tone stunned Avery.

"Don't tell you still like her...”

"I was drunk that night. Just like you were when you... I'm sure I don't need to tell you what I'm referring to,” said Tyler indifferently. “Don't think much. I don't have any feelings for her at all.”

‘Just like I was when I had s*x with that guy...’ All the accusations Avery wanted to throw at Tyler were stuck in her throat. She stood there with a pale face and cold limbs.

Knowing she was not going to say anything else, Tyler got into his car.

Avery watched as his car drove off.

In the car, Tyler pulled out a disinfectant wipe and rubbed it across his cheek. After he got to his destination, he got out of the car with a straight face and threw the used disinfectant wipe into the trash can.
