Since Vernon was the head of the family, Alana did not dare to argue with him. She turned back and continued to pass on her wisdom to Avery.

“Even if he decides to marry Vicky today, what’s not to say he won’t divorce her tomorrow? So you see, it’s not about Vicky. As a matter of fact, it could be any other woman. Plus, you’re pregnant with his kid, so you shouldn’t worry too much. There’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to see him once the baby is born.”

‘Mom’s right. Tyler will eventually be mine as long as I have the baby. I can use the baby to get closer to him!’ thought Avery, feeling much better after listening to Alana.

“Thanks, Mom. I know what to do now,” she said.

Alana was relieved to see her daughter feeling better.

“Avery, don’t forget. Even if you don’t have the baby, we still have something to hold over his head.”

“Remember the three projects he gave us last time? Well, they’re enough to cause huge damage to the Hart family. I won’t be surprised if his family decides to cut ties with him!”

Tyler cut in before he could finish his sentence, “The wedding date has been chosen, and it’ll be held at the end of next month. You and Mom are more than welcome to come, but I won’t force you if you don’t want to come.”

He spoke resolutely, leaving no room for negotiation. He only came to inform them and not to ask for their opinions, so Valencia and Orion had to swallow their words.

After that, he added lightly, “It’s getting late. We’ll be going home now.”

He did not wait for any response as he pulled Vicky out of the place.

It was slightly chilly that night. The two of them walked along the empty street.

Tyler was the first to break the silence between them. “Don’t you have anything you want to say?”

Vicky frowned and turned to look at him, his handsome profile cloaked in darkness. She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but she closed it again as she did not know where to begin. There were just too many questions running through her mind.

Tyler must have guessed what she was thinking about as he said, “I have no right to ask her to get rid of the baby if she insists on keeping it.”

Vicky knew that. Babies would never be guilty of anything. Besides, that kid could not be strictly called an illegitimate child.

During that period, they were not really together, so she had no right to request anything of Tyler. To be more accurate, she was actually the mistress in that case.

However, she could not help but feel resentful whenever she thought of her own baby.
