There could not be surveillance cameras inside the changing rooms, so how the outfit was destroyed would always remain a mystery.

“We’ll continue to use the designs you produced for us, and you’ve been with us long enough that you should get some rest now. As for the payment…” he said thoughtfully before his phone started ringing.

He answered the call, and soon, his expression darkened.

After hanging up, he turned to Vicky apologetically. “Vicky, about the remaining payment…”

She interrupted him. “Director Lumber, we’ve known each other long enough. You can cut to the chase.”

He sighed heavily. “Alright. I’ve discussed with Director Fallon and a few producers that we’ll pay you everything we promised but in exchange, we’ll need to announce that we’ve terminated our contract with you. However…”

He shot her a look of sympathy. “You know that Mister Hart is the biggest investor of this movie, and he thinks that there’s a big issue with the costumes you designed if they had caused such an accident… Not only does he want to hold your payment, but he wants you to pay for any losses as well.”

“Tyler said that?” She clenched her fists.

Director Lumber nodded.

Vicky got up. “Alright. I understand.”

She stumbled out of the meeting room and tripped. Just as she was falling, someone grabbed her by the arm to steady her.

“Oh, my,” a sarcastic voice rose. ’Vicky, what’s wrong? You have to be careful. If the reporters captured you just now, you’ll be further humiliated.”

She looked up and saw the evil sneer on Maria’s face. She tensed and said, “It’s you. You did that to Sheila’s costume!’

Maria smiled and whispered into Vicky’s ear. “It was me, but so what? Why would you believe you now? You told Director Lumber about me just now, didn’t you? Look what happened? Are you the one being chased out, or me? n

Vicky shoved Maria aside.

Maria was not at all frustrated and continued to smile at Vicky. “Besides, I’m not afraid even if others find out, because I have people who’ll clean up after me no matter what I do. As for Sheila, she has Tyler to do that for her, whereas you… How pitiful.” 1

Maria seemed to have only come to mock her and immediately left, giggling the entire way.

Before Vicky could return to her room, a few police officers approached her.

“Miss Shaw, you are suspected of attempted murder. Please come with us.”

Despite all the accusations directed at her, the police had never approached her, so she assumed that it was yet again Tyler’s doing.
