Chapter 127 The University Secret

"Let's find some place more private," Vincent's quiet words startled Sophia awake, her face instantly flushed with embarrassment. The sudden attention they had attracted because of her actions overwhelmed her, making her feel self-conscious.
"Okay," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper, as she instinctively buried her face into his chest. It was a reflexive action, seeking relief and a shield from the prying eyes around them. The world seemed to fade away, leaving only the warmth of Vincent's embrace and the beating of his heart.
"Let's go, " he gently held her hands and guided her to a more private place, away from the curious onlookers. The bustling sounds of the campus slowly faded into the background, replaced by a sense of intimacy and peace.
On the other hand ,the women who had been vying for his attention earlier scattered like leaves in the wind, realizing the futility of their pursuit now that Sophia had arrived. They watched in jealousy as the couple sat together.
They sought comfort beneath an empty gazebo, its quiet presence offering a haven amidst the bustling campus. In the center stood a majestic tree, its branches reaching out like nature's embrace.
"You really caught me off guard earlier. Why did you run like that?" Vincent chuckled, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes.
Sophia blushed, her cheeks turning a shade of pink as she recalled the rush of emotions that had compelled her to run towards him. Her body had acted on its own accord, driven by an irresistible emotion that defied her normal rational thought.
"I couldn't contain my excitement," she admitted with a sheepish smile. "Seeing you surrounded by all those women, I was momentarily taken aback. But then, I couldn't resist the urge to be in your arms, and show them that you're mine ."
Vincent's chuckle deepened, his eyes filled with amusement as he pulled her closer.
"Well, I guess I can't blame you for that. I was quite a sight, wasn't I?" he teased her.
"Yes, you are," Sophia replied instantly , causing Vincent to feel a twinge of embarrassment. He was only joking , but she had taken his words too seriously. He couldn't help but find her innocence incredibly captivating all the time.
As they continued to chat, he felt a refreshing sense of rejuvenation in Sophia's presence. It may seem like favoritism, but there was something about her that always brought him a renewed energy and a sense of tranquility.
"Oh, I've been hearing these rumors circulating around the university lately" she exclaimed, a sense of urgency flickering in her eyes as she recalled something of great importance.
"What kind of rumors ?" he asked.
" It's about some sorority girls mysteriously disappearing," Her words flowed effortlessly, carrying a weight of significance that demanded his attention.
Vincent furrowed his brow, intrigued by her words.
"Why haven't the authorities stepped in if these reports are true? It should be making headlines by now," he questioned, a hint of disbelief coloring his tone.
Sophia nodded solemnly.
"That's the strange part. Whenever someone goes missing, their family comes forward and insists that they've simply dropped out and are not in danger. But one of my friends mentioned that she's been unable to contact one of the missing girls at all. It's as if they've vanished without a trace. I can't shake the feeling that something sinister is at play here," she confessed, her gentle nature shining through her concerned expression. The thought of young women disappearing like that struck a chord deep within her.
In the past, such rumors would have hardly bothered her. The old her would have brushed them off without a second thought. But things had changed now. The mere existence of Vincent, the love of her life, served as an undeniable proof to the existence of the supernatural world.
"Don't worry. I'll look into this before I leave," he reassured her, his voice brimming with unwavering confidence. The notion of supernatural entities abducting young girls was not something to be taken lightly, especially considering that Sophia herself could potentially become a target. While he had complete faith in his secrets guards to shield her from human threats, the strength and unpredictability of supernatural beings added a new layer of concern.
"Thank you," Sophia hugged him again, a smile of gratitude adorning her face. She couldn't help but feel a rush of warmth, knowing that Vincent hadn't lost his compassionate nature. He was still the same kind-hearted man she had fallen in love with.
"Don't worry about it " he gently ran his fingers through her hair, a tender gesture that conveyed both affection and reassurance.
But as they embraced, a flicker of concern flashed across his eyes. Sensing a presence, he glanced at the rooftop of a building 500 meters away, his gaze locking onto a young woman with auburn hair . Yet, it was not her physical appearance that captured his attention; it was the unmistakable energy that enveloped her.
His absorption of the mutated creature essence had bestowed upon him a heightened awareness, enabling him to discern some of the intricate web of energies that intertwined with all living beings.
"Is there something wrong, Vincent?" Sophia's voice broke his reverie, bringing him back to the present moment. He turned his attention to her , and saw a mixture of concern and curiosity reflecting in her eyes. Seeing her worried face, he took a deep breath, and gave her a reassuring smile.
"It's nothing " he replied.

As the daylight waned, casting long shadows across the campus, Sophia's classes came to an end. The air held a slight chill, signaling the approaching twilight. Vincent, sensing the urgency of his own matters, gently urged Sophia to head home first.
"Go on ahead, Sophia," Vincent said, his voice filled with care. "There are some pressing matters I need to settle, but I promise I'll join you as soon as I can. It won't be long."
She felt the words well up inside her, a desire to express her concerns. Yet, she knew deep down that he wouldn't prioritize his own matters unless they were truly important. She had unwavering trust in him, not just as a partner but as someone with a clear sense of purpose in their relationship
As his woman, she understood that respect played a crucial role in their relationship. It meant honoring his decisions and trusting in his judgment
So, she swallowed her words, pushing aside her immediate desire to speak. Instead, she chose to be patient and supportive, knowing that their bond was built on mutual trust and understanding.
"I will wait for you," She said, a warm smile gracing her lips as she met Vincent's gaze.
"I won't make you wait long," he replied, his voice filled with a gentle tone.

On the rooftop, a young woman's hair danced and swayed in rhythm with the gentle breeze. The wind, like an invisible artist, playfully teased her wavy hair, causing them to flutter with an air of unrestrained freedom.
"Long time no see," he spoke, his words carrying a hint of familiarity.
"Yeah ,its been a long time ... Vincent" she replied, her voice carrying a melodic tone .
"You know, you still owe me for that promise," the beautiful woman teased playfully with a mischievous glint in her eyes. Her voice carried a hint of playful banter, and her vibrant green eyes seemed to emit an enchanting aura.
"Ah, you've got me there," he replied, matching her playful tone. "Consider it a debt that I will gladly pay. I owe you for that... Are you still interested in me ?"
The young woman chuckled, her laughter echoing with amusement .
"You've become quite daring since the last time we met. I wonder, does possessing supernatural abilities make you more confident?" she quipped .
"Do you want to find out ?" Vincent replied with composed expression .
