Chapter 181 Power Of Two
Chapter 181 Power Of Two
?
"Hey, you two! This place is restricted!" The guards swiftly raised their hands after spotting Vincent and Erika. Despite their earlier discussions, they concluded that the best approach now was to simply break their way through.
No matter how strong that metal door was, the chance of it breaking from their attack was much higher. They were also concerned about the cameras that surrounded the place, so time was of the essence.
"We're here to collect some samples from inside," Vincent spoke in an easygoing manner, pretending to be someone who had been working here for years.
"Liar!" one of the guards spoke, remembering that only three people were allowed to enter through that door, and they were completely certain that Vincent and Erika were not among them.
"Let me do it, " Erika walked forward.
"Freeze," she muttered, and in an instant, the air around her turned icy cold.
However, the guards, being no ordinary humans, quickly reacted to the sudden drop in temperature. They released their own supernatural energy, to protect themselves and transform.
"We don't have time to play around," Vincent exclaimed, sensing their adversaries' intentions. With a surge of energy, he tapped into his own ice power, feeling the frigid energy course through his veins.
In perfect harmony with Erika, their powers merged, intensifying the freezing effect as if time itself had slowed down. The air around them shimmered with frost, and the guards' transformation became sluggish under the weight of the chilling aura.
"Ah!" Some of the guards managed to utter words of shocked, but it was too late. The combined freezing attack had taken its toll, turning them into frozen statues, solid and immobile .
Despite their supernatural abilities, in the face of two powerful individuals, they were no different from ordinary humans. It was a stark truth that having overwhelming power always prevail.
brrring-brrring-brrring-brrring
The blaring alarm erupted, emitting a piercing wail that reverberated throughout the entire base, jolting every individual within its confines and alerting them to the presence of an intruder. As if in response to the urgent warning, the once calm white lights adorning the walls abruptly shifted to a vivid shade of red, casting an eerie crimson glow throughout the facility.
"I will handle the door!" Without a moment's hesitation, his body underwent a breathtaking metamorphosis, his human form giving way to the primal might of a ferocious werewolf. Muscles bulged and bones cracked as his limbs elongated, covered in a thick coat of dark fur.
He tightened his grip channeling his energy into his now-empowered claws. The air crackled around him as sparks of electric blue energy danced and swirled, intensifying with each passing second.
"Break for me!" Vincent's voice reverberated with a thunderous roar, it was like an absolute command that shook the very foundation of the hall. With a ferocity unmatched, he lunged forward, his massive beast form propelled by sheer pure force. His claws, gleamed with a radiant blue hue, pulsating with an energy that seemed ready to destroy everything in its path.
Then ,in one fluid motion, his arm arced through the air, his claws slashing with an unstoppable force.
BOOOOOOOOM!
With a thunderous explosion, the shockwaves of his attack surged forward, striking the frozen guards with such overwhelming force that shattered them into countless shards upon impact. Bits and pieces of the guards were sent hurtling through the air, sparkling like icy shrapnel, as the force of the attack pulverized their frozen forms into nothingness.
But as the cloud of ice settled, Vincent could not help but growl in annoyance.
"You've got to be kidding me," he grumbled in frustration, observing that the door remained stubbornly intact despite his powerful attack.
"You need to put more power into it! I will buy you time" Erika advised . With her own elemental power, she unleashed her freezing spell, channeling her magic with remarkable speed. The hallway became her canvas as a wave of icy energy surged forth, coating every surface in a shimmering layer of frost that prevents anyone from passing.
"Alright,"
He focused his mind once again, condensing an immense amount of energy on his claw. This time, he exercised patience, waiting for 20 seconds until his entire arm began vibrating from the overwhelming force building up within.
"GRRRRR" A low growl escaped his lips as he excecuted another attack with all his might, causing a tremendous shockwave that shattered the sound barrier, unleashing a sonic boom that reverberated through the air.
BOOOOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOOOOM!
"GRRRRRRR! . Damn it " Vincent roared in frustration as he observed that his attack had merely caused a crack in the barrier.
"Do it again!" Erika spoke, her voice firm yet filled with a hint of encouragement. She understood the importance of growth and wanted him to seize this opportunity to further develop his abilities.
Vincent met Erika's gaze, his werewolf eyes reflecting determination and willingness to rise to the challenge.
"Let's see if you can still handle this... GRRRRR!" he clenched both of his hands tightly, channeling and condensing his energy with even greater intensity. He kicked the floor, ensuring a stable footing for himself.
The energy pulsed and swirled, growing more vibrant and vivid with each passing second. This time, he exercised even more patience, waiting for a full minute as the blue energy transformed, taking on a semi-liquid yet solid form.
Erika stole a glance at him, her eyes widening in awe. Vincent's capacity had already surpassed her own, showcasing an astonishing and somewhat frightening rate of growth.
'That kind of attack can break through my Domain,' she thought to herself, a sense of elation flooding through her as she witnessed Vincent's immense power.
"GRRRRRR!" With a deafening roar, he raised his clasp hands high and unleashed his attack with an unparalleled force.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The impact was akin to a miniature nuclear explosion, obliterating the door before him as if it were made of mere paper, reduced to nothingness in an instant.
"Save her! I'll wait for you here!" Erika shouted, emphasizing the urgency of their mission.
Realizing the significance of their objective, he swiftly pass through the destroyed door and activated his full speed, racing towards the center .
As he left the area, the ice barrier that Erika had erected finally collapsed under the brute force exerted by two imposing figures.
Two men with muscular bodies and a pair of ox-like horns on their heads emerged into view, smashing through the ice with their bare fists, demonstrating their formidable strength
Both of them bore a striking resemblance to each other, with long brown hair cascading down to cover their eyes.
"A vampire?" One of them spoke with a steady voice, displaying a complete lack of fear in the face of Erika's presence.
"How about you let me finish my mission, and we can each go our separate ways?" Erika joked, her features returning to their normal appearance. Her distinctive white hair and black-red eyes were trademarks recognized by any powerful supernatural being.
"An Original? Are you attempting to disrupt the delicate balance of power within the supernatural world?" the man questioned. There was an unspoken understanding that direct attacks between established supernatural organizations could potentially ignite a devastating all-out war, an event that would inevitably expose the existence of supernatural to the world.
However, what the two men failed to realize was that Erika belonged to Evangeline faction, which had remained inactive until now. She held little regard for such rules and regulations at all.
"A war?" Erika chuckled, her voice turning cold. "Are you even qualified to face us?" With those words, she unleashed her domain, engulfing the two men within its icy embrace.
Despite their own domains as Rank S individuals, providing them with a level of protection, they soon realized that Erika's domain was not to be scoffed at.
Instantly, they found themselves surrounded by an expansive, seemingly endless expanse of ice. Above them, frozen clouds floated in the air, defying the laws of nature.
"Erika, the Ice Empress," one of the men finally realized the true identity of their formidable enemy. As individuals who had attained the rank of S long before the Originals faded into silence within the supernatural world, it was only natural that it took them some time to recognize her power.
But if the legends were indeed true, then they were currently facing someone who ranked in the top 5 among all the Originals.
"Tauric , we need to go full force against her "
"I know that, Argos "
The two men exchanged a conversation, coming to a mutual realization that they were confronting someone far stronger than they had anticipated. Though they outnumbered her in this battle, they understood that she was no ordinary Rank SS individual. She represented the pinnacle of power within that rank, an apex that few could rival.
"It appears that you know how to use your heads," Erika remarked, acknowledging the cautious approach taken by the two individuals before her. However, even with their newfound vigilance, she doubted they would emerge victorious against her.
"Of course, we wouldn't dare to underestimate the Ice Empress," Tauric sneered, his tone dripping with confidence. Both men then revealed containers of white liquid in their hands.
"It's you who will pay for underestimating us," he added, before they simultaneously opened the containers and consumed the contents within.
"That thing!" Erika exclaimed, realizing her mistake a moment too late. She quickly attempted to utilize the power of her domain to eliminate the two men, but her efforts were futile.
In an instant, their own domains expanded, their bodies swelling and growing until they stood towering at a height of 15 feet. Their forms had completely transformed into a brown humanoid bull-like creatures, exuding an overwhelming aura of power and strength.
"You will regret coming here" The two horned beast spoke in unison.
