Lunar Supremacy: The Original Alpha

Chapter 68 Rescue

Chapter 68 Rescue

James hesitated to ask, but it was his duty to inquire about what should be done with the body of the deceased. He turned to William, the head of the agency, for guidance.

"What are your orders, Sir? Shall we send the body to our laboratory for testing?" James inquired with a serious tone.

William sat back in his chair, rubbing his chin in contemplation. He knew the deceased individual had a connection with the Wayne family, a long-time supporter of their agency.

He weighed the options in his mind, trying to make the best decision.

After a moment of thoughtful silence, he reached a conclusion.

"Based on his background and relationship with the Wayne family, I believe a proper burial is in order. We have been fortunate to have the support of the Wayne family for many years, and it's the least we can do to show our respect. And, let's not forget that Denise would be very unhappy with us if we did otherwise," he explained, with a firm nod of his head.

A smirk tugged at the corner of James' lips as he nodded in agreement. Denise was not one to be trifled with. Although she worked for their agency, her loyalties lay elsewhere. It was rumored that she had connections with some of the most powerful people in the Underground world, and that she had saved the agency's reputation more times than anyone could count.

"Yes, Sir. It's better to avoid any unnecessary conflict with her," James said, his tone indicating that he understood the gravity of the situation.

"You're starting to learn, James. That's good." William gave a small chuckle,

James grinned. He was still relatively new to the agency, but he was quickly learning the ins and outs of how things worked. In a place like this, it was important to know who to trust and who to avoid at all costs.

"Let's get back to the main topic. Where is Denise now?" William inquired.

"She has already received her new mission and the location. Unfortunately, she failed to kill the dryad," James responded with a sigh

William leaned back in his chair, his brow furrowed in concern.

"Failed to kill the dryad ? That's highly unusual for her. She's one of our best agents."

"The dryad evolves to (rank A) after it was pushed into a corner by Denise " James recounted the intense battle between Denise and the dryad. Despite her best efforts, however, the dryad had managed to slip away by burrowing underground.

James couldn't help but wonder what kind of power had allowed it to evolve into a Rank A creature in the first place. Nonetheless, Denise remained undaunted and determined to track it down in the future, her reputation as a deadly agent on the line.

"Rank - A? That's not something you hear every day. What kind of creature is this dryad?" William leaned forward, his interest piqued.

James shifted uneasily in his seat. "We're not entirely sure, sir. All we know is that she's extremely powerful and can manipulate nature to her advantage."

William nodded thoughtfully.

"Keep an eye on the situation. We don't want any surprises. And make sure Denise gets the proper support this time. "

James nodded and scribbled down some notes on his pad.

"Understood, sir. I'll make sure everything is taken care of."

As William watched James leave the room, he couldn't help but wonder what other surprises were in store for them in the near future. The supernatural world was always full of surprises, and he knew they had to be ready for anything.

Vincent's body was transported to the agency's mortuary, a place that emanated an eerie and foreboding atmosphere. Once they arrived, his body was placed inside a chamber, where it would be preserved.

The clock had already struck three in the morning, and the staff who were scheduled to guard the place were sound asleep outside. Suddenly, a footstep disturbed one of them from his slumber.

"Dr. Alice, what are you doing here?" A man wearing a green nurse's shirt asked, rubbing his eyes.

"I'm here to collect the body of one of my deceased patient ," Alice smiled and showed him the papers.

The man blushed and scratched his head. Alice was a breathtaking woman, with luscious brown hair, mesmerizing dark eyes, and an alluring figure that could make any man's heart skip a beat.

"This way , Doctor " The man led her through the dimly-lit mortuary until they reached the compartment where Vincent's body lay. She swiftly directed the man to place Vincent's corpse onto a movable hospital bed .

The man, eager to impress Alice, offered to assist her further. But she politely declined, her voice ringing with a honeyed tone that was both soothing and firm.

"Thank you, but I can manage from here," Alice replied, gripping the handles of the bed and setting off towards the exit. She knew she had a difficult task ahead of her, and didn't want any unnecessary distractions.

The DSAS was hidden deep beneath the earth's surface, concealed from the prying eyes of the world above. It had three discreet entrances, each serving a specific purpose. One of these exits was reserved for the elite corps of scientists and physicians who were tasked with handling the most peculiar and mysterious artifacts known to mankind.

Alice emerged from the underground DSAS facility through the secret entrance reserved for doctors and scientists transporting experimental materials.

She had successfully retrieved Vincent's body and now made her way to the waiting van parked just outside the entrance. This was no ordinary van, of course. It had been specially outfitted with all the necessary equipment for Alice to perform her unique way of medical procedure.

"Get ready to initiate the revival procedure," Alice commanded the two women who were waiting for her inside the van. Her hands glowed with a bright, white light as she began the process of reviving Vincent.

That's right, Vincent's death was a mere facade. She had intentionally stopped his heart using her powers in order to get him out of the agency undetected.

"Hope this is worth it," Alice muttered under her breath as she focused on the rivival procedure.
