Cheng Shui was right. Cheng Juan’s mineral vein was in Continent F.
The business wasn’t too legal.
Cheng Tu was rather fierce himself and often traveled around to resell things back in Continent F. He dealt with people like Giant Crocodile, the terrorist groups, and other threatening forces.
Cheng Shui and Cheng Tu weren’t quite on the same page. Cheng Shui spent more of his time in Continent M with Cheng Huo.
But Cheng Shui was very clear about what Cheng Tu dealt with on a daily basis.
Cheng Shui was still talking.
His cell phone lit up, and Cheng Tu’s face could be seen on the screen.
“Boss.” Cheng Tu seemed to be standing by the roadside and talking to a local in their native language. Seeing that the call had connected, he turned to his cell phone and greeted politely.
Cheng Shui asked him directly, “Have you found out what’s needed of Eldest Lady’s goods?”
“It’s not the terrorist groups. I worked with them before and just asked them about it.” Cheng Tu’s voice was a little muffled due to the poor connection, but they could figure out what he was saying. “It’s a hired group. This group hasn’t robbed our goods in a long while. I’m currently negotiating with them.”
Cheng Tu thought about something for a while and then mumbled, “We can’t really be thinking about opening a barbecue store.”
Compared to the “warzone” that was Continent M, Continent F was rather peaceful.
The situation between Cheng Wenru and the Nie family seemed so dire here. But on Cheng Tu’s side, they were simply negotiating.
“Is the Eldest Lady around?” Cheng Tu asked.
Cheng Shui nodded. “Yes.”
He turned the camera to Cheng Wenru.
Cheng Tu said, “Eldest Lady, are your goods especially urgent? There are some standard protocols to follow, so it’ll take another two days or so before we can send them to Beijing by air.”
There were indeed a lot of administration matters to settle in order to send medical goods over.
Two days was already the quickest they could go.
The Nie family’s guarantee to Cheng Wenru was seven days. Compared to that, two days was godspeed.
Cheng Wenru had met Cheng Tu only a few times and remembered only his more outstanding features. Upon hearing what he said, she was stunned for a moment. She then responded, “Of course, that’s alright.”
“I’ll get to it, then.” Cheng Tu said a bit more before hanging up.
The others in the meeting room did not have much of a reaction.
Cheng Wenru had been to Continent M before and knew some of the powers there. She knew who Matthew was, but she wasn’t so aware of the hired groups or the terrorists. However, she could deduce that they were just like Matthew—not simple.
Cheng Raohan and the other stakeholders travelled often too, but they didn’t know much about the elite forces in Continent F.
What were the terrorist groups like?
They’d heard of hired groups before, but they had no idea what this organization was like. Meanwhile, they knew of Matthew and were clear that they couldn’t afford to offend him.
The three terms that Cheng Shui mentioned so casually were extremely unfamiliar to them.
“Get someone to receive the goods two days from now,” Cheng Juan said to everyone respectfully. “I’ve gone through the accounts. You can carry on with the meeting, but I have something else to attend to. I’ll get Cheng Shui to stay behind to assist you.”
With that, he left the meeting room and closed the door gently.
Cheng Juan did not head straight to the office.
Qin Ran was still going through the documents.
Upon hearing sounds, she looked up at him. “You’ve settled it?”
“Mm.” Cheng Juan nodded casually. “Let’s head back. Don’t you have something to discuss with Butler Xu?”
Qin Ran put the accounts down. With Cheng Juan bringing this up, she thought about Old Master Yang again. “The ceremony is three days from now.”
“I’ll get Cheng Tu over too?” Cheng Juan asked.
“No.” Qin Ran rubbed her temple. “Don’t get all of them back.”
There were enough people and problems as of yet.
...
With the slender figure disappearing behind the door, the people in the meeting room slowly processed what was going on.
Cheng Wenru turned to them and said coldly, “Nobody is to talk about what happened here to anyone else.”
“You are...” Cheng Raohan furrowed his brows.
“Fishing.” Cheng Wenru turned away. “It’s about time we cleaned up the Cheng family and the related families.”
The stakeholders turned to Cheng Raohan, then to Cheng Wenru. They had all gone quiet.
So much was going on in their minds.
The Second Hall Master of the Cheng family had stayed in Continent M for two weeks, and he hadn’t even managed to get close to Matthew’s forces...
But Cheng Juan and Cheng Tu...
Cheng Raohan and the stakeholders could tell that Cheng Juan and the rest were actually close to that group of people.
“Eldest Lady... Third Young Master... what exactly does he do?” someone finally asked after moments of silence passed.
Cheng Raohan seemed expressionless, but deep down he was anxious for the answer as well.
Cheng Wenru had no idea what exactly Cheng Juan was involved in. All she knew was that he hadn’t taken a cent from the family ever since he turned 12, and yet he seemed to have a never-ending supply of money...
