Chapter 52: The Dashing Blue-haired Beauty is Romantically Lonely, Yang Wei's Concern for Huo Yue's Loneliness.
As the night advanced, Yang Wei and Wu Fengtian ventured through the forest, seeking Huo Zhenwei's courtyard. Yang Wei, hands behind his back, questioned Wu Fengtian, who led the way, "Do you even know where we're going?"
Wu Fengtian belched, displaying a hint of drunkenness. "Of course," he slurred.
Yang Wei sighed, doubtful. "Somehow, I doubt that," he mentioned, folding his arms then shrugging. "But whatever."
Looking left and right, Wu Fengtian admitted, "Eh, I've forgotten where to go next." As he took another step forward, his leg tangled in a vine, sending him sprawling to the ground.
Yang Wei swiftly grabbed his shoulder, preventing a full fall.
"You okay?"
"Y... Yes," Wu Fengtian, now standing, nodded. "Thank you, Senior Brother."
"Good. Wait here for a while, let me get a bird's eye view of where we are..."
Yang Wei extended his hand, then streams of refined dragon vein Qi materialized into a glowing dragon sword. He stepped onto the flat side, startling Wu Fengtian.
"Flying sword technique?" Wu Fengtian questioned.
Yang Wei replied, "Basic technique at the third level of Mortal Realm."
"Actually, it's the fourth level."
"I see."
Yang Wei chuckled, realizing his progress.
With arms behind his back, the sword lifted him into the skies, revealing a significant portion of the area. "Oh, there's a residential sector not too far from here," Yang Wei noted.
Returning to the ground, the dragon sword dispersed into blue energy particles.
"There's a residential sector a kilometer north of here."
Wu Fengtian snapped his fingers, exclaiming, "That has to be it!"
"What're we waiting for?"
Yang Wei walked forward, while Wu Fengtian ran behind him.
...
Huo Yue toiled on the veranda of their family courtyard on Spirit Harmony Peak. Carrying a wooden bucket of water, she poured it into a tank, sighing with relief after the last bucket. "Few more of these, and I'll be done for the night," she muttered, rubbing her chin and glancing at the skies. "But it's likely almost morning." Using her forearm to wipe off sweat, she prepared to head inside.
Suddenly, a voice rang out, "Shijie! Shijie!"
Startled, Huo Yue turned, and there was Wu Fengtian, running toward her with a sweet smile, while Yang Wei strolled calmly behind.
"Feng'er, is that you?" Huo Yue asked.
"Of course it is!" he said, still running.
"Be careful not to fall! *giggle* Okay?"
Wu Fengtian stopped near the veranda, coughing and placing his hands on his stomach, looking like he might vomit.
Huo Yue rushed down the stairs. "Are you okay?!" she asked, while placing a hand over his shoulder and edging a little close to him.
Wu Fengtian, enjoying her scent, leaned closer.
"Well... to be honest, *cough cough*, I'm not feeling too well. And it seems I pushed my body to its limit during my training."
"You shouldn't push yourself so hard. I always tell naughty Zhenwei the same thing but he never listens."
"I... *cough* want to get stronger for Shijie."
Before Huo Yue could react, Yang Wei casually kicked Wu Fengtian's buttocks, causing him to tumble forward into the stairs.
Shocked, Huo Yue turned to Yang Wei, somewhat displeased. "Why did you do that?" she asked.
Yang Wei gave her a side-eye and coolly replied, "Don't worry about that weasel; he's just drunk."
Huo Yue maintained her serious expression, directing her gaze back at Wu Fengtian. Despite her attempts to appear stern, her face resembled that of an angel—smooth and flawless. Her soft features made it challenging for her to pull off a truly intimidating look; instead, she exuded more cuteness than severity. Waving a finger, she scolded Wu Fengtian, "So, you've taken up drinking now?
How could you let yourself get drunk?"
Still massaging his sore buttocks, Wu Fengtian retorted, "Does Shijie really believe what Senior Brother Yang said? He's just lying, always treating me like this. I'm the victim here."
Huo Yue's stern facade dissolved, replaced by a curious expression. "Wait a minute, Yang? Like Yang Wei?" she asked.
Wu Fengtian, bewildered, nodded, "Huh, you know him?"
I mean, almost everyone's heard his name by now, but Shijie isn't the type of person to care much about sect rumors. She's to decent for that.
Huo Yue turned to Yang Wei, questioning, "Not really."
Yang Wei, casually picking his ear and glancing to the side, looked back at her, stating, "Yes, I'm Yang Wei. I hope I'm not in trouble. If I recall correctly, I haven't slept with you, so you can't be pregnant for me... yet."
Hearing this, Huo Yue waved her hands dismissively, blushing a bit, insisting, "No, no, not that. I'm definitely not pregnant, and I'd never be wicked enough to pin my pregnancy on any man."
Yang Wei yawned, dryly adding, "Relax, I was just joking."
Huo Yue chuckled, tucking some light blue hair behind her ear and looking aside, slightly embarrassed. "Oh, yes, I forgot that possibility. I'm not the best at spotting a joke."
Observing Huo Yue's interaction with Yang Wei, Wu Fengtian sprang up, declaring, "Shijie, we'll help you finish whatever you're doing. You should go rest for now."
There's no way I'll let him charm Shijie with his looks!
"Oh no, I can't let you do that," Huo Yue protested, "You can go visit naughty Zhenwei Xiaodi and the Young Master; they should be up and about by the week's end."
Wu Fengtian insisted, "No way, how can I stand here watching my one and only Shijie doing such menial labor?"
Huo Yue tilted her head, offering a warm smile, "It's fine. I was brought up to be a future housewife, so it's natural for me to do things like these."
Yang Wei rubbed his chin, humming thoughtfully. "That's strange," he remarked, "In a place like the Mashyan World where women dominate, shouldn't you want something more?"
Huo Yue gently shook her head, "I'm fine with being submissive, as long as I can support whoever my future husband will be. All I need from him is a little of his time and affection."
Wu Fengtian muttered under his breath, "It shall be me," already secretly praying to the Heavens.
Yang Wei sighed at Wu Fengtian's antics, looking at Huo Yue, "Well, if that's your choice, we'll wait for her to finish up. Once she's done, she can take us to see Huo Zhenwei and that ass Young Master."
Huo Yue chuckled softly, teasing Yang Wei, "You're quite vulgar with your words."
Yang Wei walked away calmly, saying, "Eh, it's more like I don't really care how I use them."
"Interesting," she replied with a smile.
As Yang Wei walked away, he called, "Wu Fengtian, come on, let's wait inside."
Wu Fengtian, still immersed in serious prayers, hoped to become Huo Yue's husband.
Suddenly, Yang Wei smacked his head with his fist, and Wu Fengtian cried out in pain as Yang Wei dragged him across the ground.
Huo Yue continued smiling, softly requesting, "Don't be too rough with Feng'er."
"Sure," Yang Wei plainly replied as he took Wu Fengtian into the house.
Huo Yue placed her hands on her sexily-rounded waist, commenting, "So that's the Yang Wei he was talking about. He's likely the most handsome man I've seen... or the only man I've seen recently."
...
While Huo Yue worked to finish up the chores, Yang Wei and Wu Fengtian waited inside. The alcohol hit hard so Wu Fengtian was fast asleep meanwhile Yang Wei was seated on the well-polished wooden floor.
That woman, Huo Yue. She's quite lonely...
Not in a familial way, rather in a more romantic sense.
After sitting for almost half an hour, Yang Wei stood up and strolled through the spacious living quarters, wearing a somewhat displeased expression.
It doesn't make any sense—this world. Sun Yuying, Mu Lin... Why are men so fixated on women who have such terrible personalities. The way Huo Yue spoke, it's easy to know she's not taken by the eye of any man. She's beautiful, she's very busty, sweet even and yet...
Pensively, he walked until he reached a gazebo in the backyard.
There, he found Huo Yue quietly brewing tea, alone.
Frowning as he observed her, he debated joining her but ultimately chose to turn away.
Just as he began to move, Huo Yue spoke up, saying, "Please, don't go. Join me for some tea, at least."
