Chapter 308 - Worries
Chapter 308 - Worries
The space mines that contain some of the Mind Stones were retrieved by the automatons controlled by Avalon.
Ace was interested in this Mind Stones affected by unknown energy. Based on Shreguc's story, they were assaulted by this unknown energy for a while before it suddenly vanished as the stones had absorbed this energy.
Veda wasn't helping Avalon in this thing's investigation and it was solely being worked on by the latter. It wasn't because Ace doesn't want to but Veda's processing speed in this far away place could not be compared when they are on land.
"Avalon, any updates about the Mind Stones?"
Ace asked the floating sphere or the A.I. after a week of investigation. They had to be careful in handling the space mines since it might accidentally explode during the tests.
[ The traces of energy was 90% similar to Mana found in the Magic Earth. ]
"I knew it… A Mana, and it was found in outer space… How did this happen?"
Ace couldn't understand how this energy came here. But whatever the reason is, it should be related to the wormhole where they found it. It was also the closest wormhole from the planet there must be a connection.
"Right, I told Veda to at least try gathering information about the mind stones from the Arians while he was doing some experiments with them. Are there any reports?"
[ Yes. It seems that they already agreed to provide information in exchange for better living conditions. Veda recorded everything and sent a report. ]
"Send it to me… Also, can you monitor the experiments happening in the country?"
[ What experiments? ]
"About some human experimentation that involves Aether. It should be happening in the country funded by Veda and the Zairus Magician's Congress or probably the Ministry of Magic…"
[ Affirmative. ]
Ace ended the conversation as he needed to attend to the newly arrived magicians.
Right now, their group has boarded different combat spaceships and was traveling to visit the Lagrange Point where the Omen IV was.
The magicians were unaware of what to see in that place but they know that a station was already set up in that place and they were there to bring supplies.
"Would it be too much for them to see a different race?"
Ace asked himself suddenly. He has been educated since he was young about the many races in the vast universe so he was never surprised to see them but instead fascinated whenever he sees one.
However, these magicians never had a concept of other races until his virtual game was launched.
"Right, this is the reason I made the virtual game… They should've adjusted their mind already."
Ace tried to think positively. He remembered when he first saw a different intelligent race in outer space that doesn't look like a human, it was such a novel experience and couldn't be described in words.
He wanted them to have such memories as well so he didn't tell them what they would be seeing.
He observed the magicians through various monitors in his spacecraft. They were all looking excited and roaming around the spaceship. Some were at the observation decks to appreciate the beauty of outer space.
[ Communication Request from Hilda Calem… ]
Wallace's thoughts were interrupted after his communication device notified him.
"Hilda? Alright, connect it…"
"Hello? Senior Wallace?"
A young girl's voice was suddenly heard after he accepted the request. Hilda was someone from the Academy he had met her several times already.
"Yes… It's me… What made you call, Hilda?"
He asked kindly while Avalon showed her information. Currently, they were in a different spaceship as she was stationed at the Providence while he was inside the Excellence.
Wallace had a sentimental value in this spaceship since this was the first he created so he likes to be stationed here rather than the new ones.
"Well, we were told by the A.I. that questions regarding the usage of Mana must be handled by you since it may not be able to answer correctly. Our team had gathered all the questions we wanted to ask so…"
"Sure… You can ask me anything. I'm not busy at the moment and we still have time before we arrive at Lagrange Point."
"Great… We're just curious about the possible replenishment of mana here in outer space. Can we really only use the mana stones we have here?"
"Well…"
Wallace paused for a moment as he thinks for an appropriate answer.
"Right now, yes… However, we recently discovered another source of mana that we can potentially use, so there might be another method in the near future…"
"I see… That's good to hear…"
"Yes… The A.I. was also trying its best for us to have better living conditions… Right, is there any problems living here?"
"Oh, we are all good. The foods we eat were also tasty… We didn't expect that we can still have a very good meal here…"
"Haha… Is that so? Then, do you have any more questions?"
"Yes… About the Magic Engineers… I think that we have to divide them carefully… There should be at least 3 or 5 Mana Technicians or Engineers at every spaceship that has top-grade mana artifacts. Right now, it seems that the allocation was a mess…"
"Ah… That… Yes… I haven't considered them too much since I focused on recruiting trustworthy people… There will be another batch of magicians in the next few weeks so we can fill their positions…"
Their conversation lasted for half an hour as Hilda also asked about the extent of magic they can use within the spaceship or even while wearing their spacesuits outside.
They wanted to know how their magics would affect these suits or when they are inside the Mech Frames. They seem to be worrying that their suits might be damaged or destroyed once they use their magic.
However, Ace assured them that their spacesuits wouldn't be destroyed if they manipulated their own mana but it may not be the same if they were on the receiving end of the magic.
The spacesuit can defend from magic but it may not be strong enough if they received a Grade 3 and above Magic. It was better to avoid it or cast a stronger defensive spell.
"Well, you can think of it as an extra Mana Shell…"
After explaining everything he knows about the spacesuit's limitation towards mana, he instructed Hilda to spread this information so no one would make any mistakes.
Their arrival here was a bit too fast and they still worry that their knowledge within the virtual world may differ within the real deal so it was a good thing that they were asking questions, in this way, he'll also know the worries of the next batches so he could already make arrangements to address them.
Soon, the magicians awed at the sight of a weird asteroid…
That's right, their spaceships have reached the vicinity of the Omen IV.
