Chapter 405 - Terub Race ( 5 )
Chapter 405 - Terub Race ( 5 )
Finally, the Terub started to take things seriously. He's no longer planning to just disable Wallace and is now willing to kill him!
Boom!
Wallace was hit by the Terub's palm… The force behind it was so strong but he realized that the alien was just aiming to destroy his Mana Shell.
Crack!
The force behind that strike threw him to the ground. His Mana Shell collapsed just like that.
Thud… Thud…
He had to put force on his feet to avoid being smashed to the ground.
'Incredible… So this is an Empyrean Guard. I already used Physical Burst and have multiple enhancements to my body and I'm still being overwhelmed.'
Wallace's physical strength may not be the best in this world but he should be nearing the peak considering his further enhancements after forming his Astral Core.
Hmph!
He noticed that the Terub disappeared in the sky again…
Bang!
A kick filled with his opponent's strength hit Wallace's arm. Again, he was thrown away by the force but was followed by the alien.
Nevertheless, Wallace remained calm in his situation. Thanks to his Brain Burst, he can still think clearly and not being overwhelmed by the Terub's speed.
He realized that if he uses his Mana Shell to cover his whole body, the Terub can easily crush it with a single palm strike.
However, if he concentrated and focused his Shell on the impact point of the Terub's strike, he could actually defend it.
The only problem is that it takes everything he has to do this. Though it is effective, it is inefficient. He's unable to launch a counter-attack and could only defend.
Although he's only buying time, he needed to at least pose some threat to this being.
"Haa!" Wallace clutched his mana artifact and activated his Traceless Oscillation.
He wanted to destroy the alien's armor.
He could not compete with their physical strength so he had to do something. The armor that the Terub is wearing is very annoying. It enhances his strength and increases his defense that is already quite terrifying.
Wallace wanted to at least remove this advantage for now.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
He increased the intensity of the spell but after creating a few cracks, the Terub backed away.
'Good, it's effective in close range. A few more direct hits of that spell and I'll destroy it!' Wallace felt glad seeing that Mana Spells were still doing their job.
However, something happened after the Terub moved away.
Clink… Clink… Clink…
In just a matter of seconds, the armor repaired itself! The previous cracks on the black armor disappeared like it was never damaged before.
'Ugh… It doesn't look like it but it's actually another version of Bio-Armor.'
It feels like Wallace is fighting a small Mech Frame…
"You're tough… However, I can feel that you're energy is running out." The Terub said as Wallace prepared for another bout.
"Hmph… Don't be too confident. You're just lucky with that Armor… Remove it if you dare!" The young man shouted but the Alien only chuckled before rushing at him.
Wallace expected that he'll be ignored as he used his Void Phase again. His Brain Burst and Physical Burst are already over so he has to rely on his skills and instincts.
[ The Magicians and Mech Knights have reached the safe point. The remaining automatons, airships, and the battleship will stay on the battlefield to cover everyone until they managed to retreat outside the Stella Region. ]
Avalon gave a piece of good news. Finally, Wallace no longer has to worry about them. Perhaps, he just needs to fight this alien for a couple more minutes and he can also consider retreating.
However, as he was playing tag with the Terub again, Avalon gave another piece of news related to the events at Montego.
***
The Council of War at Zairus was just notified about the result of the battle at Montego.
"They won?!"
Aaron, the man handling the internal communication, asked in surprise.
Julian and the reinforcements from Maja had actually defeated the Black Sovereign that landed at Montego!
It was such a piece of good news that would raise the morale of everyone!
"Wait—Julian died?!" The man was even more surprised after reading the last information.
"This…" The others in the command center were also speechless.
Julian is like a legendary figure in Montego and well respected in every country because of his power and control of the Mage Towers within the whole country.
His achievements in the study of Magic and Technology were uncountable and every magician who reads books about magic would know of his name.
However, this strong magician, that seems to be untouchable, had sacrificed himself to kill hundreds of Khrusams in exchange!
Though the Black Sovereign managed to escape in the end, the spaceship probably has only a few remaining personnel due to Julian's final attack.
It was only thanks to the spaceship's mysterious barrier technology that they were able to escape.
'What kind of barrier is that? It could almost make them invincible.' Aaron thought after reading the report.
The hundreds of golden-skinned aliens that are known for their use of Death Energy exploded after Julian used a forbidden Soul Art.
It was too bad that they could no longer use the same technique since the owner had never passed down the technique but it doesn't matter.
The aliens have definitely been scared off and they wouldn't act recklessly again.
"Hmm… It's such a shame that we can't even make a proper burial on his body…" Aaron muttered.
The others nodded at this since Julian can be considered a hero in this war. However, they could understand this as well since the Forbidden Art must be so powerful that his body was integrated by the sheer power.
'It must be an intense battle…'
They weren't in Montego and they haven't seen the fight, but they are sure that the battle there was chaotic.
They could imagine the scene where Julian used the Forbidden Soul Explosion Art and have the Corpse Furnaces and Death Energy explode within a few seconds.
"Spread the information to the public. They need to know the current situation."
"Yes, Sir!"
In this despairing situation, news of a victory will help everyone's mind to calm down and see a beacon of hope in this current war.
