Magical Academy: Rise of the Supreme Magic Craftsman

Chapter 76 - Vacation

Chapter 76 - Vacation

Wallace sold 5 magic structure crystals containing Float Drive System within a week as planned. But before that, the Golden Trident Group also completed the construction and installation of magic defenses in the property.

Of course, one thing that Wallace added after in these defenses were his exclusive Magic Jammer Cancellers. He doesn't need to mention this detail to the security company so he proceeded and placed it as he wanted. This placement of magic structure may be exaggerated as magic jammers are rare and mostly being used by the government's factions. So he only placed it as an assurance for the unforeseeable future as all his things related to his plans in Montego to retrieve his spaceship is still in his workshop. He can't bring those in his parent's house.

After Wallace confirmed that his property seems to be safe and well protected, he traveled back home to where his parents live.

Of course, he didn't forget to bring his gift to his little sister. He took a deep breath and remembered that a lot of things happened from the last time he visited here.

Wallace arrives in front of his parent's house, he sighed and moved his feet to enter the place. He still actually has mixed feelings with his family here on this Earth but kept it inside. After all, having some vague memories of his life here and clear memories in the outer space isn't something that anyone could relate with. He only tries to keep strong and not lose his sight towards his goals.

"You're already here. You didn't even inform us." His mother, Elaine, smiled and was surprised to see Wallace. She didn't expect that Wallace will hurry back home once their class ended. She expected that he'll still take a couple of days before deciding to return here.

"I just want to surprise everyone. I brought some gifts. Where's Claire and Dad?"

Wallace answered as he put his bag of gifts on the living room table. He only asked his mother after noticing Claire and his father, Chase, isn't present. Of course, even before entering, he was already aware since he used his Divine Sense and was only confirming to his mother.

"They just went out a bit to our new neighbor. Their small family recently moved to this town to live a peaceful life." His mother explained to Wallace and even without waiting for his reply, she added a few more words.

"Their family head is also in the Magic Engineer's path that's why your father can easily get close to them. They should be back within half an hour. Do you want to eat first?"

Elaine said and she didn't forget to ask Wallace to eat as he'd been traveling for several hours on a bus.

"Sure. I missed your cooking." Wallace happily agreed and said his heartfelt remarks.

His mother busied herself to make some food for Wallace.

"I saw that you've been selected to participate in Montego. Would you require something?" His mother seems to be worrying about something but ultimately asked for Wallace's needs.

"Nothing. I just need to prepare some mana artifacts before this. Is something wrong?" Wallace was able to catch any fluctuation in his mother's emotion due to his high sensitivity.

Elaine smile to his son due to this.

"Well, every time that country of Montego organizes the competition, it always goes a bit messy. So be careful." She reminded this as she continued to cook.

Wallace wasn't sure about the competitions before that was held in that country. He took note of it and made sure that he'll spend some time to search for its details online.

"Don't worry, I will." He answered in assurance.

The moment Claire noticed someone else's shoes in the front door, she quickly connected it to her brother and looked for him.

Wallace is leisurely watching the television for the evening news when his father and little sister arrived.

Claire quickly noticed a bag placed in the table. It wasn't there when they left so it's safe to assume that her brother brought it.

"Here, this is yours." Wallace took a small wrapped box from the bag and gave it to Claire.

The latter thanked him and opened the gift. She saw a golden brooch in the form of a Red Star flower where their town is famous. This type of flower can almost be found only in the Luna Lake near their town. Looking closer at the brooch, the flowers are made of finely carved and tinted ivory and it only has 9 cm high.

Claire saw how beautiful it is and even loved it more as she's very familiar with the flower.

She quickly tried wearing the brooch with the help of her father.

Chase took the brooch from Claire and as soon as he touches it, he was able to analyze the mana artifact. Yes, the brooch is a Grade A mana artifact that Wallace made specifically for her little sister. This was inspired by the brooch that he saw in the TMAC. It looks more like an elegant decoration than a weapon used for battle.

As a Magic Engineer, even though he no longer heavily work in the field, Chase noticed the exquisite design for its smooth mana flow. Based on his experience, he felt that this mana artifact is more focused on defense. He couldn't analyze the magic structure place here without proper tools.

After helping Claire, he asked Wallace about the Mana Artifact.

"I've only placed Layered Mana Barrier and some locator spell. I've also recently learned stealth magic so I tried putting it on the brooch as well. But it doesn't have any offensive spells in it."

Wallace answered to his father. Claire doesn't have formal education about mana usage and was only personally taught by his mom and dad, it may cause trouble if she has destructive magic spells in her artifact so he only placed defensive spell, stealth magic and a locator in case necessary.

Chase nodded at this, like a Magic Engineer, he was also capable of making mana artifacts for his children but when Wallace moved to study in the academy, most of his mana artifacts were left here at home as Wallace is now somehow capable of making for himself. As for Claire, Chase hadn't made one for her age but prepared something she grown up a bit more. For now, they are teaching her mana manipulation without using mana artifacts.

Unlike Wallace who previously had weak mana affinity and couldn't cast a complete Mana Shell that would cover his whole body, Claire has a very good mana affinity.

"Is she still in service? When will she return?" Wallace suddenly asked his parents. He was referring to his older sister serving in the military. Although she wasn't a member of Lucent Force, a special magic battalion, his sister is working for another magician's troops. He wasn't clear as well about his sister's rank and position but it seems to be quite special.

"She mentioned that she'll be back before the year ends. Why?" Chase answered and was curious as Wallace isn't normally interested in his sister's life.

"I see. It's nothing. I just want to ask her about some things." Wallace nodded and said after hearing his father's answer.
