Chapter 81: Come
Chapter 81: Come
Arthur stepped towards them where he immediately earned the gaze of everyone before Aldric.
As he met their gazes, Aldric could see the doubt on their faces.
Unlike those workers who were in their 30s, he was too young.
"Mr. Arthur, is he the fifth worker?" The butler asked Arthur after he had observed Aldric.
"Yes, don't worry, Mr. Jason, he's reliable," Arthur replied.
Although he hadn't seen what Aldric was capable of, he couldn't help but speak kindly in describing him since he was the one who brought him into the palace.
The butler, Jason, seemed to believe Arthur.
He nodded and said, "well, then let's get started. However, we can't help. We are not warriors with above average physical strength."
He smiled apologetically when he said that.
"It's our job, you just have to watch and wait, Mr. Jason," Arthur replied with a faint smile.
He looked at Aldric and the other four workers, signaling them to start lifting the suitcases.
The four workers were ready from the start. They even had the suitcases placed beside them. They just needed to move the suitcases onto their shoulders.
Judging by how their veins were immediately protruding, the suitcases seemed to be very heavy indeed.
Aldric walked to the side of the suitcases, pulling one of them under everyone's curious gaze.
He could feel how heavy it was.
However, he just smiled as he pulled it.
95 KG, it wasn't enough to put him under pressure if he used both hands.
Calmly, he put the suitcase onto his shoulder, which made him feel it was lighter.
Compared to the four workers who had bigger muscles, he seemed more relaxed.
Arthur and the others could not hide their surprise.
"Looks like it's not too heavy for you," Arthur said with a faint smile.
He was naturally happy that Aldric was reliable.
"Alright, now let's go downstairs," he continued.
Not far from them, there was indeed a door to the underground.
It was narrow with a small iron staircase that only two people could pass through.
Looking at the stairs, Aldric wondered if this kingdom could not make better stairs. Even without carrying a load, descending the stairs was no easy feat.
The good thing was that there was no water on the stairs.
The four workers soon made their way to the stairs, followed by Aldric while Arthur and Jason followed behind.
The old man seemed to be acting as a watchdog to make sure the workers didn't do anything strange like peeking into the suitcases.
They descended the stairs carefully.
Even the stairs were quite long and steep. If the foot is unsteady, it's really dangerous.
Fortunately, the four people in front of Aldric were quite skillful. They could move fast enough that Aldric could also increase his speed.
From the stairs, they immediately arrived at another basement that looked exactly the same as the basement above.
However, the two basements were really only connected by stairs. Even the air system here was rather poor where the air was lacking.
Perhaps the air only comes from that hallway. If that passage was closed, there would be absolutely no air coming in.
"Make sure to arrange these suitcases neatly," Arthur said when they arrived downstairs.
The four workers who were familiar with each other arranged their suitcases side by side. Aldric finally placed his suitcase next to theirs.
After that, they quickly went back upstairs. Only, Arthur and Jason didn't follow, they started chatting.
The workers had to work while the boss chatted, which was not a pleasant thing to see. However, Aldric realized his position. He was just a student from the village.
When he arrived at the upper basement again and started lifting the second suitcase, Aldric saw one of the elevators open.
It was the nicest looking elevator compared to the others, so it was probably connected to the main room in the palace.
All the servants and maids stared at the elevator when they saw it open.
They became alert, knowing an important figure was coming.
Even one of the servants sent a message over the radio, probably to Jason, the butler.
Just then, Aldric heard footsteps coming up the stairs.
It seemed that the old man had run straight for the upper floor.
Of course, there was no way he could outrun the elevator doors.
It finally opened completely, revealing the people inside.
Aldric's eyes widened and trembled instantly when he saw one of them.
There were three people, two were bodyguards wearing black suits, men in their 35s with large bodies.
They were cold while their gazes seemed to be devoid of any emotion at all.
In their midst, stood an oval-faced woman with chestnut hair neatly pulled back in a bun, wearing long pants and a white shirt layered over a knee-length brown coat.
The woman was so beautiful with slightly rosy white skin, bright violet eyes, and a calm expression full of gentle elegance.
Aldric felt very impressed just by looking at her.
She was young but she had a respectable aura that was not contrived so that even though she seemed friendly, people dared not disrespect her.
Aldric was no stranger to this face. He had seen it too many times on the internet.
Even though she didn't have a social media account, her photos and videos would fill your homepage if you wrote her name.
This was because too many people took pictures of her while she was doing activities.
Her popularity can be said to be number one among all the royal families, not only the British Empire, but all the kingdoms on earth.
Not only was she the most beautiful, she was also so intelligent that she was already involved in government at a young age and even often represented England in diplomacy.
She is of course Princess Charlotte.
In England, all young men consider her more important than their own lovers.
Compared to celebrities like Jenny, she was much more unattainable. After all, only when she stepped out of the palace, no one could approach her because there were too many bodyguards guarding her.
Coming to this palace, Aldric naturally had great expectations of seeing this princess. He did not expect that he would actually see her.
