Chapter 94: We’re On Our Way to Liking Each Other (1)
A week ago, the originally quiet and silent college class group chat formed after graduation suddenly recovered its liveliness. Someone seemed to be taking the initiative to say in chat: we haven’t seen each other in a while. Why don’t we schedule a reunion? Who knew that as soon as this suggestion came out, everyone started agreeing and cheering along. Everyone was passionate and enthusiastic. They basically raised their hands in approval. There were a few that said they were busy with work but their comments were immediately drowned by the others.
Everyone in the group discussed this, from staying overnight to planning out dinner and to preparing games. The class monitor was put in charge to roughly plan out everything. After he received the majority of the people’s approval, he started calculating the number of people coming.
For the past few days, notifications in the group chat almost never stopped.
In the beginning, Chen Jinyao took a few looks at the group chat and then she muted it. She wasn’t the original Chen Jinyao. These classmates were strangers to her.
There were a few classmates like her who didn’t participate in the discussion. It might be because they really didn’t see the news, but it might also be because they made their stance clear based on their silence.
After she muted the chat, Chen Jinyao quickly tossed this to the back of her mind.
She didn’t think that the class monitor would personally call her.
As she walked by Yan Cheng, she took a look at him. It was unclear what he was thinking. From when she said it was a college classmate and then purposely added, “male classmate,” Yan Cheng had knitted his brows tightly, sinking into deep thought. She narrowed her eyes and couldn’t help but guess what he was thinking right now. From how much she knew him, she thought that this guy probably wanted to mark his territory.
Thinking of this, Chen Jinyao couldn’t hide the smile in her eyes. She gently patted Yan Cheng’s face when Mother Yan didn’t notice.
“…” Yan Cheng slightly froze and took the opportunity to grab and squeeze her hands.
Mother Yan didn’t know about the couple’s action. By the time she slowly shifted her gaze and looked back at them, Yan Cheng had already leaned back against the sofa lazily, letting Chen Jinyao leave to answer her call.
Seeing that Chen Jinyao had left, Mother Yan’s words finally poured out. She stood up and walked to Yan Cheng, squeezing his arms and then scolding him without reason, “Yan Little Six, I’m telling you right now. Don’t think that you can do anything just because Yanyan lets you.”
He felt wronged by this accusation. Yan Cheng turned to look at Mother Yan, confused. “Wait no, mother, don’t just accuse me of things.”
Mother Yan: what do you mean by I’m accusing you of things? This isn’t your usual fashion style, and you even dressed up today. Don’t think that mother doesn’t know your thoughts. Don’t you just want to attract Yaoyao’s attention?
Yan Cheng was speechless.
Mother Yan: let mother tell you. You…
Before he could finish, Yan Cheng raised his hand to interrupt with a helpless expression. “What have you been thinking about lately? Don’t you know about your son’s character? Don’t you understand? It’s pleasant to people’s eyes when I dress up.”
Mother Yan choked at the words. She turned to look at Chen Jinyao leaning against the wall and calling. She looked at her for a while before shifting her gaze. Then, she looked a bit shockingly at Yan Cheng. “To Yaoyao, you…”
“Yeah.” Yan Cheng lazily looked down and held the remote control in her hands, pressing on the buttons randomly and changing the channels idly. “I like her.”
“…” Mother Yan widened her eyes in shock. After staying silent momentarily, she exclaimed, “Then before…” She was shocked to the point she didn’t even know how to form her words. She thought it was best not to mention Zhou Xue as well.
Yan Cheng replied, “Before? Oh, I understand. You don’t need to worry about this.”
“Sigh. Child, what do you mean by worrying for no reason?” She was more interested in gossip than he thought. She pursed her lips and asked again, “When did this happen?”
