Chapter 706 - Elected as General

Chapter 706: Elected as General

Han Mou’s face was really black and grim. He felt humiliated. But when he thought about it... there was no way someone like him, who had passed his prime, would be able to take on Qin Feng.

When Han Mou was thinking of a good comeback, Shang Han opened her mouth. “Enough arguing. Time to vote! But everyone! You better vote really carefully. This is a new blood with great potential. I believe Qin Feng is going to be an A-tier in the near future. In fact, he might actually reach the S-tier before we reach retirement.”

Shang Han swiped a good, slow look at the B-tiers.

“Now vote!”

Han Mou was the first to vote. And he voted “Object”. Qin Feng, however, was looking at Yang Long and Liao Pingan.

The votes of the B-tiers were insignificant. However, these two’s votes meant a great deal. If one of them were to vote “Object”, it was enough to deter him from becoming a general!

It was then, Liao Pingan made his decision.

He voted to support Qin Feng.

“The last time during the battle in Beihua city. I was the general stationed there and yet I could not be there in time to aid the city. However, Qin Feng! You were there. And you were able to take on the B-tier beast king. You have great potential. In fact, I think you might even be more powerful than any of us A-tiers who’re sitting here. I have no reason to push such a talented young man away.”

Liao Pingan’s words did more than support Qin Feng—it reminded the others that Qin Feng was already a top-tier prodigy, who had the authority and could take on anyone above his rank. He was someone who had as much authority as any A-tier, or he might even be more powerful than them.

As such, it would seem that supporting Qin Feng was actually the better choice.

Han Mou stared at Yang Long coldly. Seeing this, Yang Long clenched his teeth and said, “Perhaps Governor Han is right. Qin Feng is indeed too young. He still needs more training. So, let’s not push such a heavy burden on the young man yet. Allow him to enjoy life a little more, hahaha!”

And then, he voted “Object”.

In accordance with the Alliance’s system, generals could only be elected once a year. If Qin Feng could not get elected now, he would need to wait for a whole year!

Now, there was 40% of objection rate. If someone voted one more “Object”, Qin Feng would lose his chance to be a general.

Suddenly! The B-tier voters’ became the most significant determiner in this election. They looked at one another and took a long, cold breath.

“So, what do we do? Do we vote for support or object?”

“Han Mou is so insufferable. He dares to object Regent Shang. We’ll see just how long he can stay in power. I’m not afraid of this prick. In fact, I’ve been resenting him for a long time now!”

“If I support Qin Feng, this would mean offending Han Mou. If I vote to object, I would be offending Qin Feng. But... if I stand with Han Mou, this old fart might not even thank me for it. If I support Qin Feng, we might be able to become friends! And if he were to become an A-tier one day, this could mean a great deal of benefits for me!”

“Think! Just think, you guys! Qin Feng is the president of the Fengli Organization! If we vote for him, we might get a discount on their merchandise!”

After whispers of debates, the B-tiers finally settled down and started to vote. Then, the rate to support Qin Feng started to rise.

46%

52%

58%

And then finally... there was only one B-tier left who had not voted. He looked around before clenching his teeth and voted “Support”! Right now, it was quite clear his vote would mean a great deal. Everyone voted “Support”; so, it was best for him to follow the trend.

Besides, if he voted “Object”, he would risk becoming the one who “ruined Qin Feng’s chance to be a general”. And when that happened, he would not want to know just what kind of wrath Qin Feng would unleash on him.

Hence...

60%

Qin Feng’s support rate went up to 60%.

“Congratulations. Qin Feng passed the examination.”

The system announced Qin Feng’s win in a monotonous tone; yet, it felt like a victory roll for him striking back beautifully.

This was the first time in the Northern Region history that there was a case where two A-tiers had objected and yet the candidate still passed the examination.

“Hmph!”

Han Mou pulled a long face and stood up before disappearing from the lobby, pulling his consciousness out of the Consciousness Realm.

Yang Long, on the other hand, was stunned because he did not think things would turn out this way. After Han Mou left, he was the other person who had voted “Object”. This made things really embarrassing for him.

“Haha! Okay, folks! I recall that I have something to take care of... Bye!”

Yang Long swiftly left the lobby too.

Then, all that was left was a looming atmosphere of celebration.

“Congratulations, General Qin!” Liao Pingan said to Qin Feng.

“I thank you, General Liao. I’ll give you a proper visit to thank you.”

“Oh, don’t mention it! We’re comrades in the alliance! I actually can’t wait for someone like you to finally become a general. With that, I could have a few day-offs. Haha!”

“Of course! Don’t you worry, Sir. I’ll complete all my missions. You’ll see.”

“Hahaha! That’s the spirit!”

Then, the B-tiers started to crowd over to congratulate Qin Feng, as though he had won a hard fought battle.

“Congratulations, General Qin!”

“Haha! Congrats, General Qin! You’ve more than earned this title!”

“Don’t forget to treat us to a feast!”

Qin Feng nodded with a smile to everyone’s congratulation and registered everyone’s contacts via his communicator. Who knew? There could be some of them in the crowd here that he could use one day in the future.

Of course, Qin Feng was not a stingy man. After getting their contacts, he ordered the Fengli Organization to send them all a present to their addresses. Each of them got a B-tier beast king material.

As for Liao Pingan? Qin Feng gifted him ten bottles of Glittering Golden Sand.

***

After leaving the Consciousness Realm, Shang Han and Qin Feng were back in Shang Han’s office again. Now, Qin Feng’s communicator had been updated—he was not only a governor of a state but also a general of the Huaxia Alliance.

This was not an achievement that any colony’s general could compare to.

“Han Mou, this little prick! I don’t know what got into him! But thank God things went well in the end!”

Shang Han was still disgruntled by what happened earlier.

“Perhaps he was just expressing his son’s resentment toward me. That’s why he’s not fond of me.” Qin Feng said.

Shang Han took a moment to recall who Han Mou’s son was and then she finally calmed down, realizing what kind of trifling squabble Han Mou was on about.

“There are thousands of prodigies on the planet. And there are only a handful of them who would survive on the battlefield. He can’t just take it out on someone else just because his son is a useless schmuck.”

Even though she seemed to have calmed down, Shang Han still could not help but murmur to herself loudly.

Qin Feng smiled after hearing this without saying anything further.

After letting out her frustration, Shang Han summoned rune equipment to her hand and grabbed a unique looking badge.

“This is for you. It’s been specially customized just for you. Thank God things did not go according to what Han Mou wanted or else I’ll have to wait for a whole year to hand this to you.”

“Thank you, Regent!”

Qin Feng took a good look at the badge after receiving it. It had an emblem of a B-tier general.

This new position of power was much more versatile and powerful than his position as a governor!
