Chapter 831: You Should be the One Who Gets Lost First
Hearing these cries, Jin Hao quickly looked at the screen. Then, everyone was surprised by what they saw.
On the massive boat from afar, the ability users were aguishly hugging their own heads. Their faces were contorted and bleeding in pain. One of them threw up blood and dove straight into the river.
Some people were frantically hitting something on the deck. The corpses that they had salvaged from the river seemed to have turned into frightening creatures. One of these creatures even grew out several ten-centimeter long tentacles from the corpse’s appendices before striking at a man nearby. The tentacles then extended and waggled into the man’s mouth. A moment later, the man lay on the floor, wriggling his body in agony as a large amount of blood bled out of his body.
Jin Hao stared at the screen in shock.
“What... What’s going on?!”
The others widened their eyes when they saw what was happening on the screen.
They recognized these tentacle creatures.
“Those are Ichortoids!”
The Ichortoids were low-tier insectoids. Most of the insect-like ultra beasts were, at most, G-tier. These revolting creatures tend to lurk in areas where large amounts of blood and corpses lay around—especially when these corpses and blood were brimming with highly condensed energy.
Ichortoids were weak against fire. To add more, without blood, these creatures would be dead in a rather short time. Their attacks were weak and pathetic; but they were deadly to awaken humans and G-tier ability users.
Thus, the people from the realm Qin Feng came from did not pay much attention to these insects. The Ichortoids that they knew were at most about thirty centimeters long.
However, the Ichortoids that appeared in front of them... these things were rather different than the Ichortoids that they knew.
“These are mutated Ichortoids. They are almost as powerful as C-tiers! But... but it’s really weird. Our scanners did not detect them at all earlier!” Jin Hao’s fingers danced feverishly on the keyboard as he scanned whatever that was happening on the Altaar Corporation’s airships. He double-checked his monitors and scanners; but it seemed that they were not malfunctioning.
“These Ichortoids tend to use blood as their cover. It’s understandable if you did not detect them earlier.” Qin Feng explained, “This is why I’m asking you all to never take off your protective gears.”
Recalling Qin Feng’s orders earlier, Jin Hao finally understood why his President was so cautious in this operation. He felt a chill down his spine after giving it some thought. If they were as careless as the Altaar Corporation, they would have also met with the same gruesome fate too.
These were C-tier mutated Ichortoids! With just a few drops of blood, they could invade their bodies with little to no problem. The protective gears that Qin Feng gave them were covered in dark runes, which would make the Ichortoids think that they were not living creatures.
However, the salvagers from the Altaar Corporation dove into the river and got themselves soaked in blood, resulting in all of them being infected by the Ichortoids.
Witnessing whatever that was going on with his employees and underlings, Cleaves’s face turned as grim as a crow. There were about sixty men on that boat and about twenty of them got infected by these Ichortoids.
As the rest of the crew ran to the other side of the deck, the Ichortoids instructed their hosts to move closer to these people in order for them to get the rest of them infected.
Thud!
A massive, one-meter wide Ichortoid showed up from the river, ramming its body against a water vessel’s shell. Then, it started to wrangle its tentacles around the vessel, seemingly intending to pull it into the depth of the bloody river.
“These imbeciles!”
Cleaves could not hold it in anymore and finally launched his attacks.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boooom!!
Cleaves unleashed his abilities, hurling several rays of energy beams toward the Ichortoids. In an instant, the Ichortoids were burned to crisp. The ability users who were freshly infected finally stopped screaming as the Ichortoids that were tormenting them inside their body had all died from the energy beams.
“Light Rays! Vaporize!”
In just one move, Cleaves was able to solve the crisis.
However, after witnessing the danger of the Blood River, the rest of the crew quickly got onto their hover copters and flew away, abandoning their boats and water vessels.
They did not want to risk encountering any more of these wretched blood-monsters anymore!
To add more, despite Cleaves being able to solve the crisis, his entourage had indeed suffered some casualties. Five of the divers that were sent to the bottom of the river to salvage treasures had also been dragged down and were never to be seen again. It would not be farfetched to guess that these men were as good as dead too.
Right now, not only did the Fengli Organization grab and was still grabbing all the available free loots lying around, the Altaar Corporation could not even do any salvaging from the river for some earnings.
Seeing how happy the people on the Fengli Organization’s airship were in getting all the loot, Cleaves felt as though he was being belittled by these Chinese people.
Thus, Cleaves sent his consciousness to Qin Feng’s aircraft.
“Hey, boy! Your aircraft looks nice. And those hovercrafts too! I want all of them. If you know what’s good for you, you better get lost. This isn’t Huaxia Alliance’s turf. You have trespassed your boundaries.”
Initially, Cleaves wanted to keep Qin Feng around for a bit longer so they could rob them after they had finished collecting all the loot. Now that he had learned that there were some rather powerful Ichortoids lurking around, Cleaves had a change of plans.
Even though they were all part of the Human Alliance, this did not mean that they got along well. They were only on the same page when it came to handling the Dark Coalition and ultra beasts. However, when they met in the wild or in other realms, they still tend to butt heads with one another.
Upon hearing Cleaves’s words, the members on the Fengli Organization’s airships were feeling conflicted. Cleaves’s presence was quite powerful—the man was an A-tier after all. If he wanted, he could just start attacking them and they would have no way of fighting back.
The new recruits like Ning Xin were especially feeling conflicted on this too. Even though they knew that Qin Feng could defeat an A-tier like Liu Chong, they were still rather worried that Qin Feng might not be able to handle Cleaves—it was well-known that Cleaves was as powerful as an A-tier beast king.
Well, except Jin Hao.
Jin Hao was smirking coldly at this so-called A-tier bandit.
“Sir, perhaps I should fire a shot at him? You know, to show him a little of our hand.” Jin Hao was a gunner. A B-tier gunner. Thus, he was quite well-versed in handling every single weaponry that was available on the aircraft. And this aircraft was a rather advanced war machine—the fabled “Fengli Dweller”, an aircraft that was remodeled based on the technology of the Floating City. Its fire power was nothing to scoff at.
Qin Feng nodded before sending a word out to Cleaves using his consciousness, “No, I think I won’t. This realm isn’t North African Republic Alliance’s turf too, to be honest. So, why must I be the one who gets lost? If anything, you should be the one who gets lost first!”
Upon hearing what Qin Feng had to say, Cleaves let out a belittling laugh, “Hahahahaha! This is the funniest sh*t I’ve ever heard in my whole life! You’re just a B4-tier chump! And you’re telling me to get lost? Just who do you think you are... F*ck!!”
Before Cleaves was able to finish his words, a bright ray of energy darted straight at him from Qin Feng’s aircraft. All he could do was react with a blurt of the F word.
The energy beam struck and obliterated his energy shield in just one hit. It was like poking through a thin piece of paper with a knife!
Booom!!!
Then, Cleaves’s airship was engulfed in a huge bang of explosion!
