Chapter 82
Chapter 82
C82 – Iron Queen’s Spy
“By the way, I should tell you that I’m a special kind of undead. My wounds heal pretty quickly, you see.”
Lucille was aghast when Rousseld revealed his race proudly.
He also knew about the undead.
It’s a monster race that is highly recognized for their very strong resistance to physical attacks and, in that regard, they retain their immortality.
The only way to kill an undead is to use a weapon blessed by the Angelism or a magical attack.
However, he had never heard of an undead whose wounds would be healed this quickly.
From what Rousseld just said, he must be a mutated form of undead.
But right now, he didn’t really care about his race.
“Oi, bastard! Why did you kill Apollo and the others!?
“Aan? Apollo…?”
Lucille’s scream made Rousseld tilt his head, not knowing what he was talking about.
It was not a deliberate attempt to provoke Lucille.
It was because he really did not know who he was talking about.
“…Aah! Were you talking about those two lying there?”
“???!!! That’s right!!”
Lucille was angry at Rousseld, who showed a dumbfounded look.
Rousseld then told him as if it was nothing..
“There wasn’t any particular reason. If I had to guess, I’d say it was because they were in the way when we were fighting Yelquchira. Well, it ain’t matter, though?”
“Ain’t…!?!”
Lucille couldn’t keep his mouth closed from Rousseld’s words.
He killed Apollo and Rieg for no reason?
It doesn’t matter to him whether he killed those two people?
He was taken aback from what Rousseld had said even before he could feel angry.
“W-What about Heroro…?”
“Ah?”
“What did you do to Heroro!?”
Lucille told him about the last member who hadn’t shown up yet.
Unlike Apollo and Rieg, Heroro was not lying there as a corpse.
Then, wouldn’t he have been captured by Rousseld’s group and they did something atrocious to him?
He is the kind of man who would kill two people for no such reason.
Lucille can’t help but worry about Heroro, who was probably being held captive.
Looking at his glare, Rousseld grinned.
“Aaah, him? I’ll let you meet him. Oi, come here!”
Rousseld called out between the trees.
A few moments later, the sound of grass being trampled could be heard.
“Heroro!”
Emerging from behind the trees was Heroro, who did not seem to be injured.
His eyes were hollow and his usual lively atmosphere was gone, but Lucille was still glad to see that he was still alive.
“I’m so glad you’re alive! Thank God… I’m going to help you right away!”
Lucille pulled out his sword and pointed it towards Rousseld.
He was neither optimistic nor foolish enough to think he could defeat the man who had drowned Sorglos, someone of greater rank than himself.
But if his friend was being held captive, he must fight even if he cannot win.
“AHYAHYAHYAHYA!!! Are you sure you’re not misunderstanding something?
“Misunderstanding…?”
Rousseld, who had a sword pointed at him, didn’t even look frightened, yet let out a burst of laughter.
It was clear that he didn’t panic when he had a weapon pointed at him by someone who was vastly inferior to him.
But what exactly did he mean by misunderstanding?
When Lucille asked back, Rousseld’s grin got even wider.
“Hey, why don’t you say it yourself? He’s your friend, right?
“…I….”
“Heroro…?”
Rousseld pulled Heroro’s arm and pushed him towards Lucille.
Heroro didn’t even show any sign of resistance and was sent away as he was.
Lucille was suspicious that Heroro did not show any anger after being treated so roughly.
Heroro was an emotional man by nature, and if he was treated like this, it would not be surprising if he showed his anger.
However, he just looked down with a sorrowful expression.
“Tch. If you can’t say it, then allow me?
“…….”
Still showing no reaction, Heroro gave a pathetic self-mocking smile towards Rousseld.
“You… Lucille, was it? I’ll tell you the truth!!!”
Rousseld was laughing wholeheartedly.
How much stress, the truth he was about to tell, would cause this child?
How much despair will it cause?
Just the thought of it sent shivers down Rousseld’s spine.
Rousseld wanted Heroro to say it straight from his mouth, but he couldn’t resist as he wanted to see this child in despair.
“??????He betrayed you guys and let me kill those two!!!”
“…Eh?”
(TLN: Guess he’ll be the next victim)
Lucille slowly widened his eyes and looked at Heroro, who remained silent.
His cheeks twitched and a strange smile appeared on his face.
Dripping with cold sweat, Lucille asked Heroro.
“That’s… a lie, right?”
“…….”
“He’s lying, right? Heroro would never… kill Apollo and Rieg, right?”
“…….”
In truth, it was most likely Rousseld who killed both of them.
But if he was an accomplice who helped him, then Heroro was also a murderer.
Lucille was reluctant to believe Rousseld and tried to ask Heroro, but he didn’t answer Lucille at all.
Lucille, with frustration, raised his voice.
“Say something, Heroro!”
Heroro’s body trembled, but he finally looked up.
Then, he slowly opened his mouth.
“…That’s right. I sold the information on these guys to Rousseld’s group.”
The words that came out of Heroro’s mouth were an answer that Lucille did not want to hear.
(TLN: It’s getting intense, I see) (EDN: But then you realize they are all mob characters so…) (TLN: …damn, yer right.)
