Chapter 215 CH 209: LET'S FIGHT?

?

Adam was now forced to come face to face with a very existential question of his life…

Does he love his mother?

The answer was undoubtedly a resounding yes. Adam adored and respected Cecilia to the highest degree. Her opinion was extremely important for him and there were very few things he wouldn't be willing to do for her.

So, the question of whether he loved her or not was invalid, to begin with. There was no way he didn't love her.

So the real question here was… Did he love her enough to clean the mess she had inadvertently made all alone?

.

.

.

Adam would have never imagined that his feelings for the one he loved and cared for the most in this whole world would be tested here in such a way.

He hesitated, tittered, and began to think of all possible situations… but in the end, the reality was that he had no other way around this situation…

"Ugh…"

He groaned in despondence even though the choice was more than evident for him from the get-go.

'I wish I had magic for worst-case scenarios like these.'

Sighing, he snapped his fingers and like a lie, the disgusting scene entirely vanished and even the foul odor stopped filling his nose.

At first glance, it looked like the entire room had never gone through what could only be considered biological warfare but he knew that it was a lie. He had just used his power of illusions to mask the carnage that had gone through in this room.

'This will do for now. But I need some good products to clean this mess. I don't think anything that I have in here can ever clean all of this shit up.'

Taking out his phone, he went over the different numbers in his contacts before his finger landed on the contact of Medusa.

No sooner did he start the call that it was answered from the other side.

[Hi. Is there anything you need help with, Adam?]

"Hello, Medusa. For starters… I want to thank you again for the potion. Words are not enough to show my gratitude, but still… thanks. The effects were nothing short of amazing."

[Oh? Have you tested it? How did it go?]

"You didn't know how it would go?"

[I always test my product on myself first in an intensive and thorough manner to check out the effects. So I know most of the results that my products may show… Even then, your mother is the first human to receive my blood, so, I wanted to be sure if there were any adverse effects or not.]

"Well…"

Adam looked at the gorey mess past the illusions he had put up.

"Let's say that the results will be remembered for a long time."

'Perhaps forever with my eidetic memory.'

He proceeded to lift Cecilia with his telekinesis, making sure to move all the disgusting stuff away from her and then finally set her inside the bathtub.

First things first, he turned on the shower so that he could wash off all the blood, waste, grime, and filth that were covering her body… along with the dubious substances whose identity he had no idea about nor he wanted to learn.

While he was washing her and making sure to clean off everything that was marring her beautiful countenance and physique, he proceeded to explain the after-effects of the potion to Medusa who couldn't help but exclaim out in surprise at the results.

[This is quite the interesting result we have here. The quantity of blood I had placed inside the vile should not have been sufficient for a partial metamorphosis like the one your mother had sustained. If you have the time, just bring her over later to my lab; I could examine her to see how the effects came to be.]

Medusa spoke off-handedly before continuing her monologue,

[For the cleaning don't worry about that stuff. With how bloody the Hunter world is, one of the most necessary products is the one that can clean bodies, blood, and any other mess that supernatural creatures are able to produce during their mayhem. I created my own line of products for that very reason for some quick money and you can just use them for the cleaning.]

He could hear a few beeps coming from the other side before Medusa's voice floated over once again,

[I don't have a way to teleport the product to you so I have just written down your address. You should receive the delivery product in just a few hours. Well, later then… I am currently studying something urgent. Call me if you need further assistance. Bye…]

Adam sighed as Medusa moved and talked like a literal whirlwind. It seemed like he had bothered her at a particularly bad time and couldn't help but feel a bit guilty for doing that.

Thankfully, this endeavor had not been useless, in the end, as she did have what he needed at the moment.

'Now then…'

It was time to wash his dear mother properly and get rid of whatever the hell was covering her whole physique.

———

One hour later, as Cecilia began to finally wake up from her slumber, she could see that world had become a mix of haze and blur as her mind slowly began to kickstart everything and tried to give her information about where she was and the state she was in currently.

'Ah…'

Her body felt sluggish, her mind lethargic. However, it didn't take long for her mind to completely wake up and clear the lethargy away to analyze everything.

For the first time in a very, very long time, Cecilia could truly breathe freely; as though there was no lump of iron trying to block her airpipes anymore.

The world seemed to open wide in front of her as all her old senses were starting to wake up from their slumbering state. The feeling of strength and might filled all of her limbs, the powerful beating of her heart, and more than anything….

—The Gate of Truth opened deep within her subconscious.

There was no mistaking it. While she was still far from her peak power, she had definitely gone back to being at least slightly stronger than the pathetic state her body was in previously.

"You finished marveling at all your changes, Mom?"

Her thoughts were broken as Adam's bitter voice resounded from next to her.

It was only then that Cecilia remembered what had happened not long ago.

Now looking at herself encased in a robe, on her bed, and entirely clean from any and all filth and grime, she easily understood that Adam had taken care of her from start to finish.

"Holy… You really washed me up?"

"You weren't really in a state of doing so yourself now, were you?"

She cackled out loud at those words, "Thanks. I really don't think I would have even had the courage to wash myself with how disgusting I had looked after all of that shit ended."

"I have been traumatized for life. Thank you very much…"

"Hahaha. Take this as a payback for forcing me to change your diapers when you were a baby."

Adam could only facepalm but there was not much he could say to make a comeback to that statement. Babies could indeed be very dirty and as a single mother without a babysitter, taking care of all his needs must have been quite complicated for her.

The two shared a quiet laugh before things finally settled down.

"How good are you now?"

"Good. Great, I think."

She rose from the bed and started stretching out, sounds of bones seemingly snapping back in their rightful places filled the air and when she ended, Cecilia let out a sigh of contentment.

"Yeah, I feel more than just great. My physical capacity is nearly back to its full status I think and the same goes for my Prana usage as well."

Adam nodded and explained the difference and evolution in her stats before and after the transformation.

"Hmm… Well, I honestly don't understand how the grading of your system works. So… Why don't we do this the old-fashioned way?"

She grinned and rotated her shoulders slightly,

"What do you mean?"

"What else would I mean? You remember the many fights we had during the time I was teaching you martial arts in your teens, right?"

Adam cringed at the mention of his teenage years and martial art lessons. He could never forget about that. His mother had been quite vicious back then in her teachings.

"Heh. Even though we fought many times, it was always for training. But now that I have this astoundingly healed and fresh body for myself… why don't we try something a lot more hardcore, huh?"

A grin full of battle thirst filled Cecilia's face. This was the sort of grin only a perverted battle junkie could ever hope to make and anyone would cringe at the sight…

She had been unable to have a proper fight for years. So, it was understandable why she was behaving like that…

"What do you say?"

"Let's do it."

Adam did not hesitate in accepting the challenge.

After all, he was also curious… Just how strong was his mother right now?

He has barely seen anything during the events of the Park.

This was the perfect way to test it out himself.

"Ah, by the way…"

Adam scratched his head and muttered in a low voice, "I cleaned you… Doesn't mean that I cleaned the bathroom though. No way in hell I am working on that alone."

"Tch… I hoped that you forgot about that."

"Did you just click your tongue at me, young lady?"

"I certainly did not. Must have been your imagination playing with your mind. Also young lady?"

She rose an eyebrow at this, "You should look at the mirror. From my Eye of Truth it seems like you became around ten years younger."

"*Whistle* Damn…"

"Haha, well, either way, before fighting we need to clean everything up. You can also admire yourself all you want then."

Cecilia groaned. It seemed like escaping from this chore would not be easy.

It was in this way that the two important members of the royal Kaminari family decided to clean shit up before fighting to the death.

———

(AN: Adam vs Cecilia. This will be their first proper fight and Adam will learn many interesting things that will serve him for a long time. After all, all occasions to learn should be taken.

AN 2: A recurring but important question. What is your opinion on the small arcs so far of this volume as well as the pace? Mainly the pace actually. I want to avoid being too slow. I guess I got traumatized by all the comments at the start that was flooding me for being so slow with the pace.)
