Chapter 391 CH 377: DIFFERENT WAYS, SAME IDEA
Kyaaaa~!
"Mouaahahaha! Burn! Burn Bitches!"
In a clearing, screams of pain and terror mixed with the maniacal laughing of a young man filled the air of the surroundings and reverberated throughout the lands.
Whoosh~! Snap~
Vroom~!
Bang~! Bang~!
The sounds of chainsaws being drawn and gunshots echoing throughout continuously were added to the mix into the crescendo of violence.
Everywhere one looked all they could see were burning flowers, torn teddy bear parts, destroyed chainsaws, and shells of bullets sprawled about on the previously fresh and lively ground of the forest.
A sea of flames was completely ravaging the entire place while a young man was observing the whole scene with immense glee dancing in his eyes while still letting out that maniacal laugh of his.
In his hand, the card of the Sun, which he had created during his first visit to Wonderland, was currently shining brightly and producing flames of the sun but in this instance, he was not the only one fighting against the dastardly inhabitants of this land.
On the battlefield, ignoring the flames of the sun that burned with such intensity that it was distorting space itself, two shadows were weaving in and out of the battlefield and facing the army of flowers and teddy bears with rapt attention, tearing them apart like they were nothing.
Each time they killed a being, be it the teddy bears or the hentai tentacle wielding flowers with the ability to speak like a human, they would absorb the dream force that the flowers contained and grow stronger ever so slightly.
But they were not the only ones to get stronger by absorbing the energy of the vanquished enemies. For each kill that the twin shadows would reap, half of the energy they received would be transferred directly to Adam, making him even stronger alongside the twins. At the same time, the beings that he killed by himself would get entirely absorbed by him and thus transfer all of their inherent dream force over to his body.
How could Adam not be excited beyond comprehension by this set of events? He was basically using this place as a training ground for him to reach a higher level of power and he could share the experience points that his summons gathered for him.
In the future, it would be possible to cover more ground by simply commanding his summons to venture out into the lands while he rested, meditated, or worked on working on his proficiency in various skills. What could be more wonderful than the feature of auto farming in this world when you needed to grind hard for a character?
'I really need to stop thinking of this place like a game though. This could very well pose to be dangerous for me in the long run.'
Sighing to himself, he stopped laughing and moved ever so slightly to avoid a bullet before kicking the mini teddy bear to the sky as he covered his leg with the flames of the card of the Sun.
He had to admit— watching the dastardly being of fluff and menace fly in the sky like a shooting star felt damn fucking good.
But he did not let his guard down. He looked at the horizon and noticed that reinforcements were on the move and were soon to arrive in this region to fight with them.
"You two should retreat back to your places now."
He immediately whistled and made his bike manifest into the ground before driving away as fast as he came to this region. Meanwhile, the two ghost soldiers became shadows and fused back with him as he left the premise of the menacing entities of fluff and cuteness.
"Hahaha! Fuck you bitches! I will be back for your dream force, retards!"
Adam ignored the scream of indignation and anger that the beings were making while laughing out loud to his heart's content.
—All he left after his storm-like passage was doom, death, destruction, and demise.
———
A few minutes later, Adam found himself in a cave. The one occupying the cave had been some weird Fish with two legs and two arms which was swiftly killed by him with the use of his flames. Adam had wondered briefly whether he should grill it or not but with how humanoid it looked, he had felt no appetite to eat such a being so he simply burned it to crips.
"Sigh. Good job today too. We taught them a good lesson."
His shadows did not move and no response came back but Adam knew that they had excited heart.
heard him loud and clear.
Chuckling, he rested his head against the rock-hard cave and slowly calmed his own excited heart.
"Three days."
It had been four days in total since he returned to the Dreamscape or more specifically to Wonderland.
The first day had been dedicated to observing the talking flowers and the teddy bears. Observing whether or not they had more companions, how many they were, did they rest for any periods of time, and so on and so forth.
It was only after he made sure of all the prerequisites that he started attacking them on the second day.
If he had to be honest. Adam was not really fighting them. He was literally waging war on them while using guerilla tactics and scorched Earth in a way.
He would come, rain the fire of hell on them all, kill as many of the bitches as possible, and then flee as though his life depended on it.
Rinse and repeat.
This was slowly becoming harder to do and he knew that sooner or later a huge confrontation between them was inevitable but Adam was not scared in the least.
During those three days, he had slowly grown stronger and stronger and he had the feeling that he might be able to advance to the next step really soon.
In fact, he could have even ignored those guys and started exploring deeper into the regions of Wonderland. But Adam's intuition was telling him that it was better to farm as much as possible in this place before going deeper into the treacherous plains of this land of hopes and dreams where basically everything was inverted in one way or another.
He didn't know if such grounds would still exist in the future so he couldn't miss this occasion now, could he?
Furthermore, this guerrilla tactic had an unexpected advantage.
"Those things are more useful than I thought."
He still hadn't given them a name. Truthfully speaking, he sucked really hard at giving names to anything so he simply called them ghosts.
At first, they had been quite clumsy. But the more they fought the more precise their movements became and their fighting style also took on a more refined form. It seemed like the imprint of Miguel and Diego was still present in the souls that he had collected. Those moves were definitely only possible for experienced Hunters like them.
But all of this was not really important to him. No matter how strong they became, they would normally always only be canon fodder used to buy time. But he discovered something very interesting by doing many tests on these twin shadows.
'If this can be used in the real world…'
Adam's eyes were shining like jewels. Just thinking of the potential ramification made him salivate in anticipation.
This would change many things for him.
"Well, you two, time to guard the surroundings."
The shadows moved away from him and swished out of the cave before fusing in the shadows of the tree in the surroundings.
It was interesting to observe how the ghosts changed after entering the Dreamscape. If before they were clearly illusory in the real world, here he had the impression that they had a physical existence that was different from their selves in reality.
Furthermore, the more they killed and grew, the more substantial they looked.
Adam took note of this phenomenon while he entered into a state of meditation. Since his fourth mind was freed, training became even more effective for him.
One mind focused exclusively on reading the book of Crawling Chaos, deepening his knowledge of Dreams and Illusions to take on this illusory realm.
Meanwhile, his second mind focused on breathing exercises to circulate the Dreamforce in his body and make himself more used to these illusory powers of this illusory world.
His third mind was testing different ways that he could use his various powers, be it here in the dreamscape or in his own universe.
Finally, his fourth mind was recalling all the physics and science books he had kept in his memory. It had been some time since he could really focus on this aspect and his current situation was as good a situation as any he could hope to achieve.
Adam's immediate goal was clear— becoming strong enough that even Fenrir feared facing him.
Only this way could he assure the safety of Natasha, his lover, no matter what choice he made in the end.
"Let's go."
.
.
.
While Adam was focusing on his training in the White zone, on the black side of the board, a young girl was breathing hard as she watched a large dog with three heads glare at her with murderous intentions.
The light in its eyes switched between a feeling of obedience and hatred as though it was fighting against something in its own mind, something that was trying to control and enslave it. In the end, though, all hatred completely vanished from the three pair of eyes and the dogs barked gently before approaching the girl with an excited gait.
"Hehe, good boy. Let's go."
She smiled and continued to advance deeper into the forest.
Behind her— a veritable army of beasts of all shapes, sizes, and kinds followed her with hollowed eyes.
