MILF Hunting in Underworld

Chapter 203: Right Person For The Right Job

Chapter 203: Right Person For The Right Job

Both of them rushed to the little girl's side. Lin Yulan picked her up and used a tissue to gently wipe the ice cream from her face and dress.

"Wahh!... It hurts…!!"

The little girl continued to sob, still in pain from her scraped knees.

"Stay still for a moment. I'll make the pain go away in no time," Lin Yulan said, sensing that the little girl had little spectral energy, knowing she hadn't started cultivating yet.

Lin Yulan quickly used her talent, her hands glowing with divine energy as she began to slowly heal the wound on the little girl's knees.

"That's definitely…" Fu Ting was astonished to see the golden energy glowing on Lin Yulan's hands. She didn't interrupt, simply standing by and closely observing as Lin Yulan used her divine energy to heal the little girl's knees.

'It can be used to heal someone…?' Fu Ting thought in awe, her face showing disbelief.

She had always feared this power, never realizing it could be used this way. She wasn't envious of Lin Yulan—after all, it was thanks to this same power that she was able to save her mother.

'Could I do something like that, too?' She continued to watch Lin Yulan's actions, her face filled with some hope.

Soon, Lin Yulan finished healing the little girl's knees, and just then, her parents returned from taking a call outside. At first, they were angry to see their daughter crying in a human's arms.

Noticing their expressions, Fu Ting quickly stepped in and explained the situation. The little girl also spoke up in Lin Yulan's favor.

After understanding what had happened, the family of three apologized to Lin Yulan before leaving.

Back in their seats, Fu Ting looked at Lin Yulan with curiosity. "Teacher Lin, why do you help underworlders? Aren't you angry at them for killing humans?"

Lin Yulan smiled at her question before answering. "Well, it would be a lie to say I don't resent underworlders, especially after losing my comrades to them."

'Oops!' Fu Ting realized she had asked a sensitive question. But as she listened to Lin Yulan's next words, she was taken aback.

"But more than hating others, I just hate myself for being powerless," Lin Yulan said, resting her head on her hand and looking out the window with a sad smile.

After losing her party in a dungeon, Lin Yulan had wanted to seek revenge and began intense combat training. But reality, as always, proved harsh.

No matter how hard she trained, she couldn't make significant progress in combat, despite possessing an A-rank talent. Her combat abilities remained below those of cultivators in the same realm.

After spending time with Yang Chen and his family, Lin Yulan came to realize that ghost humans were much like ordinary humans.

Her views broadened as she saw both sides more clearly, understanding that humans would likely have acted the same way if they had been taken to Seraphia and forced to survive among ghost humans.

'She's still willing to use her talent on underworlders even with such a painful past?' Fu Ting was in awe of Lin Yulan.

Lin Yulan looked at Fu Ting with an amused smile, sensing her curiosity about the divine energy.

"Do you want to know about this?" she asked, pulling Fu Ting from her thoughts as she used her talent to create a butterfly out of divine energy.

Stunned by her words, Fu Ting looked at the butterfly fluttering toward her and instinctively closed her eyes in fear. However, when nothing happened, she opened her eyes again.

"Ah!" she exclaimed in surprise as she saw the butterfly resting on her nose.

Lin Yulan chuckled at her reaction and called the butterfly back. This was one of the small tricks she created out of boredom while working in the infirmary all day.

After Fu Ting calmed down, Lin Yulan smiled warmly and asked, "How about it? Do you want to learn about this?"

Hearing her question, Fu Ting was flustered, realizing that Lin Yulan could sense her divine energy—just like she had sensed Lin Yulan's.

But she wasn't ready to reveal her talent to anyone yet.

Not even the instructors, Chen Miya and Jin Roulan, knew the full extent of her talent, except that it was a physical type.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about…!" she stammered, avoiding Lin Yulan's gaze and nervously fidgeting with her fingers.

'Oh my, looks like I'll need to convince her,' Lin Yulan thought with a gleeful smile, watching Fu Ting's reaction with amusement.

A few hours later, Lin Yulan finally managed to persuade Fu Ting and began teaching her how to perform the butterfly trick.

It wasn't merely a simple trick; it required precise control of divine energy and a good mastery of spectral sense.

Meanwhile, Yang Chen gaslighted Fu Shi to agree to the treatment to restore her physique's origin and visit the academy after telling her what happened in the academy.

They all headed to Han Zhenya's flower shop. Lin Yulan wanted to accompany Fu Ting, while Yang Chen was there to pick up Chen Miya, who was currently throwing a tantrum at the shop.

Inside the flower shop, Han Zhenya wore a distressed expression as she looked at a white-haired girl with eyes red, on the verge of tears.

"Old lady, where did Ting'er go? Do you know where she might be right now?" Chen Miya asked, her face filled with sadness.

'Hmph! Who are you calling old lady?' Han Zhenya's eyebrow twitched at the remark. She lost count of how many times Chen Miya asked her this question.

Because of this girl, she'd even contacted her subordinates to track down where Fu Ting had gone. After learning she was with Lin Yulan—a human and the academy medic—she instructed her subordinates to keep an eye on them.

Now, she knew Fu Ting and Lin Yulan were on their way to the shop.

"Miya, Ting'er is here!" Jin Roulan, who was standing outside the store, spotted Fu Ting approaching in the distance and immediately called out to Chen Miya.

At her words, Chen Miya rushed out of the shop, and Han Zhenya sighed in relief. She had barely restrained herself from kicking Chen Miya out. Normally, she would have done so without hesitation, but after learning that Chen Miya was actually Yang Chen's adopted daughter, she held back.

Looking down the left lane, Chen Miya spotted Yang Chen and Fu Shi coming toward the shop.

"Roulan, did you mistake Aunt Fu for Ting'er?" she asked with a disappointed look, pointing to the left.

Jin Roulan blinked in surprise, then turned her head and saw that Chen Miya was right. She also noticed that Yang Chen was there as well.

Yang Chen had remembered to use a transformation technique, which was why Chen Miya hadn't immediately reacted as she usually did.

'Principal? Why is he here? And why is he with Aunt Fu?' Jin Roulan wondered, feeling confused. But she quickly shook it off and told Chen Miya to check the other side.

"Ting'er!" Chen Miya shouted upon spotting Fu Ting.

Hearing her friend's voice, Fu ting looked flustered, unsure of what to say. But before she could react, Chen Miya wiped her eyes, pulled out a giant hammer seemingly from nowhere, and leaped toward her with an angry expression.

"You…! Do you have any idea how long I've been searching for you?!"

Her actions left everyone stunned, especially Yang Chen, who had never seen her this upset—or rather, concerned.

'Looks like she's really close to her friends,' Yang Chen thought with a small smile.

Suddenly, Fu Shi, standing beside him, called out to Chen Miya with a playful grin. "Hey, brat! Go easy on my daughter!"

'Huh!? What happened to the cold woman?' Yang Chen thought as he glanced at Fu Shi, astonished at the gentleness in her expression.

Feeling his gaze, Fu Shi turned to him with her usual cold stare, tilting her head. "What?"

This sudden change in treatment made Yang Chen's mouth twitch in silence. 'So, she's only like that around me?' he thought, letting out a wry smile.

Noticing the change in his expression, Fu Shi smiled briefly before concealing it so he wouldn't see.

However, Han Zhenya, who was observing the scene through her spectral sense, wore a puzzled expression upon seeing Fu Shi's smile. 'Didn't I warn her to be cautious around him? Why does it seem like they've grown even closer!?'
