Chapter 118: Chapter 73 Childhood Memories_2

"Ah, a middle school classmates' reunion? Where is it? Can I make it in time?" The young lady with chestnut gold short hair was called Yilin, and she was also the initiator of this elementary school classmates' reunion.

"It's just downstairs," Clara gestured with her hand, a smile playing on her lips as if she also found it quite coincidental.

"I'll see if I have the time in the middle of it, and if I do, I'll come over." She said nonchalantly, waved her hand, then pulled open the partition of the private room and walked out.

After she left, another girl from a short distance away came over.

"What's up, Yilin? Did Clara leave early?" Cindy came over to the young lady's side.

"She said she has another gathering to rush off to, so I didn't keep her. Let's pack a portion of the meal for her later, after all, she's still a classmate, we can't forget her."

"You're still as thoughtful as ever," Cindy said with a smile.

"Cindy, you've become quite the smooth talker, ah, but let's not talk about that. I've actually started to take over some business at home recently and have been taught a lot by my parents," Yilin shook her head. Explore stories at mvl

Among her classmates, her family was the wealthiest, running a modest beauty company with branches in Payin City and the neighbouring cities.

"Oh right, where is Tilan? Cindy, didn't you say she was coming back today?" Yilin remembered her childhood playmate.

"Her? Let me check, she should be arriving soon." Cindy picked up her personal terminal.

Soon after, Cindy put down her personal terminal, indicating that Tilan would be arriving momentarily.

But in reality, Hexia had just left Topstar Tower and was now hailing a hover car by the roadside.

"Okay, I got it, I'll be there soon." The young girl put down her personal terminal, and a hover car slowly stopped in front of her.

After getting into the car, she immediately told the driver her destination, and the hover car started off right away.

Hexia didn't expect to have chatted for so long; she reminisced about the situation earlier at 'Dream of Glazed Glass.' Initially, she hadn't thought about going to both academies simultaneously, given the considerable difference in school spirit, but under Lady Isabelle's suggestion, she had agreed to such an arrangement.

At least in her view, Lady Isabelle had no ill intentions, and since Hexia herself knew very little about the Federal Upper Echelon, perhaps there was a particular reason behind Isabelle's plan.

It's better to listen to the advice of elders while young, rather than blindly making your own way without understanding the situation.

The young girl pondered today's events, her personal terminal vibrated slightly, and soon she received official admissions notifications from both Yuanting Academy and Edith Academy, with a declaration of joint training even spelled out on the notifications, not the kind of standardized admission letters that are copy-pasted.

"This is really..." The girl couldn't help but marvel inwardly, realizing she might have underestimated the importance of this matter.

Switching the page, she used the key code on the notification letter to access the Edith Academy's official website and began to search. Not long after, she was astonished to discover her name on the public examination admission list.

The announcement had been issued less than a minute ago, as if waiting for Hexia to confirm the situation before formally publishing it.

As for Yuanting Academy, the publication would probably be delayed. From the conversation earlier, it seemed that Yuanting Academy had been passively involved in the contention; Hugh Neil had told Hexia before leaving that a formal announcement would be made later, after detailed discussions about the subsequent training plan with the academy's board in the coming days.

Feeling almost overwhelmingly favored, the young girl leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes to reflect.

The events of the day felt like a dream. She was once an ordinary girl for whom even getting into a good school was a struggle, but now, she had instantly become a sought-after prize for the top academies.

A little while later, she shook her head and opened her eyes again.

Setting those thoughts aside for now, she was about to arrive at the class reunion, and Cindy must be getting anxious, having called her earlier.

Two minutes later, the hover car stopped near the corner of the street close to the Fulu Restaurant, from where Hexia got out.

The reason she didn't disembark right in front of the restaurant was naturally to avoid certain individuals.

She picked up her personal terminal at her side and called Clara.

"Have you arrived, Hexia? Wait a moment, I'm coming downstairs now," the noise of a bustling environment filtering through the phone, along with a burst of cheering.

Shortly after, Clara seemed to have moved to a relatively quiet corridor to continue the conversation.

"The boys in our class were making a ruckus just now; it looks like Jones will have to fork out a big sum this time... almost everyone else is here, Cindy and Yilin are on the third floor at 'V-31'. You just enter through the side door, and I'll be waiting for you there," she explained.

After hanging up the phone, Hexia tidied up her hair and dress by the roadside and hurried to the agreed location.

As she walked into the comparatively quiet side entrance, Clara was standing by the stair railing, browsing her personal terminal. She looked up when she heard footsteps.

"Hex... Hexia?" she uttered in disbelief upon seeing the young girl in a crimson and pink-white frock, looking charming and striking.

"Yes, it's me. Sorry to keep you waiting, Clara," Hexia approached, her appearance today indeed a bit 'bold' or rather far different from the impression she typically left on others.

"That dress must have cost a pretty penny," Clara quipped, shaking her head slightly but not elaborating further.

Hexia must not have wanted to appear shabby in front of her elementary school classmates and had spent a considerable sum to buy or rent this outfit. Clara understood; if she were in the same position, she probably wouldn't want to look downtrodden in front of old acquaintances either, especially since Hexia had once been the center of attention, the girl everyone admired and cared for.
