Chapter 120: Chapter 74: Familiar Name
Pushing open the door, what greeted her eyes were faces both strange and familiar.
As people grew, many had changed their appearance, and the diversity of hairstyles and attire made it difficult to recognize them. However, as Hexia approached, the warm and familiar sound of their voices immediately stirred her memories.
"Who is she?"
"Is that Tilan?"
Several boys seated around looked at the figure that seemed familiar yet hard to place. Your journey continues at ???
The conversation halted for a moment, and even the students chatting previously sensed something unusual and turned around.
They all watched the girl who entered the room, her appearance undeniably beautiful. Her crimson dress, paired with her soft, shoulder-length hair and the silk ribbon that swayed gently, was like a red lotus entering a dream, sending ripples through everyone's hearts.
Just as everyone was hesitating, Cindy stood up from the side room, waving her hand.
"Tilan~ you finally made it."
"Yes, I'm here," Hexia stood still, looking at the group of familiar people, overcome with emotions, yet unsure how to express them.
Suddenly, the room exploded into cheers, as people rose from their seats, and some pushed forward from inside, crowding the young girl. If it weren't for the boys at the front who were careful, their heads might have pressed against hers.
"It's Tilan, it's Tilan!"
"I finally see you, Tilan! I've missed you so much, it's been three or four years since we last saw each other."
"Wuu, finally seeing the grown-up Tilan, you're still so beautiful."
"Where have you been these years, Tilan? You never showed up whenever we tried to meet you."
"I want to hug Tilan."
"Why is Tilan crying? Shouldn't it be a happy reunion?"
"It's okay, Tilan, everyone is here with you."
The group gathered around the girl, talking over each other, while a few of Hexia's former close friends patted her back to comfort her.
After a short while, Hexia's emotions stabilized, and she felt embarrassed for crying just now. She was an adult after all; how could she still cry like when she was a child...
She then began to answer everyone's curious questions.
"Sorry for coming so late to see you all," she said, her gaze touching each person present, comparing them to the faces in her memories, seeking out those familiar names.
"A lot has happened over the years," she said, closing her eyes and shaking her head slightly.
"There were some family troubles, and then I moved away from where I used to live; now I'm living on my own," she said, not wanting to make the atmosphere too depressing with her sad tale.
Although she did not delve into specifics, from her few words, everyone could sense that Hexia had not had an easy time these past years, and the room fell silent for a moment.
"I'm really happy to see everyone today. Honestly, I might not recognize many of you," she said, slightly embarrassed, glancing at the tabletop beside her, not daring to face so many intense gazes.
"Haha, don't worry, let's reacquaint ourselves today. After all, we each have something we'd like to say to you," a cheerful boy said loudly, immediately echoed by everyone else.
"First, let me start, after all, I was the class monitor," the boy who spoke before spread his hands to make room, placed a chair in front of Hexia, and sat down.
"I'm Nokai, Tilan, you must remember me, right? I used to trouble you a lot back in the day, haha." He had a fresh crew cut and was wearing a dark tee today, sitting confidently with one hand on his knee and patting his chest with the other, introducing himself.
"I remember, Nokai has grown a lot taller," Hexia recalled the past when Nokai was still not as tall as she was.
"That's because I work out a lot," he had hardly spoken a few words when someone pulled him up from his chair.
"Okay, Nokai, let someone else have a turn; there's a whole queue behind you," and with that, they lifted him up and took their own seat.
The two of them each took a side of the chair, leaning against each other with one arm raised, and with an index finger, they drew a line across the center of their foreheads, lifting some strands of hair.
"Jian Buyan."
The other boy closed his eyes, his index finger crossing his eyebrows, then suddenly opening his eyes wide.
"Chen Zhiyu."
Watching their cool gestures, the girl covered her mouth with a smile and nodded slightly, signaling that she remembered the duo from her class.
Then, the two of them stood up stylishly, making room for a girl with chestnut short hair who had been waiting on the side.
"I'm Yilin here." The young lady was dressed in a blouse, with a tied black silk scarf at the collar and a black and white checked skirt that reached her knees.
She lightly tapped her chest, looking at Hexia with soft and nostalgic eyes, then reached out her palm.
"Yilin..." Hexia clasped the offered hand, and the two looked at each other. It seemed as if they had a milliard things to say, but in the end, they said nothing at all.
In elementary school, Yilin had been Hexia's closest friend, often inseparable, and it was Yilin who always looked after the tearful and timid Hexia.
As everyone crowded around these two chairs, they watched Hexia greet each classmate and get to know them all over again, with laughter and tears making for an unforgettable day. Perhaps this scene would remain clear in memory for decades to come.

Meanwhile, a gathering of junior high classmates was also underway.
"Everyone's almost here, right?" Jones stood in front of a table, slowly scanning the room.
"Only Hexia hasn't come," a classmate muttered nearby.
