Chapter 154 - You Saved A Rabbit?
Chapter 154 - You Saved A Rabbit?
"Because you look ugly right now," Jasmine said before she brushed past him.
She walked towards the angry Jane who was trying her possible best to hide her anger.
"I will tell Lilian to dish the food while I go freshen up," Jasmine said when she was at the door. She walked away before he could speak.
"She really looks like someone jealous," Jackson mumbled to himself not sparing Jane a glance.
"Jack, while Lilian sets the dining table let's go do some catching up," Jane said forcing on a smile. She walks towards Jackson and when she reached where he was standing she held his hand and lead him towards the dining room.
According to Jackson's instructions, Lilian and her fellow maids hurriedly set the dining table and within ten minutes they were done.
"So Jack, how did you get your two hands injured? Even without seeing the seriousness of the wounds, I can tell that it hurts badly, right?" Jane sitting beside Jackson asked as she stares at his bandaged hand. While her attention was focused on Jackson's hands, his attention was focused on the stairs. He had particularly chosen to sit down at this couch so he could have a full view of the long staircase.
"I caught injured trying to save a cute rabbit from getting injured and in return, I caught that rabbit's care and attention as a reward for my noble acts. And with the rabbit by my side, I couldn't feel a single pain. Just a stare at her face and my pains vanished," Jackson said smiling with his gaze still on the stairs.
"You saved a rabbit?" Jane asked with a mixture of surprise and confusion.
"Jack, you got hurt for the sake of saving a rabbit? Are you even listening to what you are saying? Which human will put himself in danger just to save a rabbit?" Jane said not understanding what he was saying. She was too busy staring at his wounded hand to realise that Jackson's eyes have been focused on the staircase since they sat down there.
"The rabbit was just too cute for me to see it get hurt. She is the cutest rabbit in the world but I am sure she doesn't even know this," Jackson said his smile broadening. It was at this moment that Jane who thought Jackson had gone insane raised her gaze to stare at Jackson. She clenched her fist when she got an understanding of what he was trying to tell her.
Is Jasmine Avans, that infamous lady the little rabbit he was referring to?
Jane thought as she dug her nails into her pretty palms.
"If that's the case I believe that rabbit deserves to be killed for letting you get injured. Cutting her into tiny bits and pieces would not be enough punishment for letting your delicate hands get badly injured," Jane said in a serious tone. Jackson threw a fierce glance at her when he heard her utterances.
"Let's go and have dinner so you can leave afterwards," Jackson said standing up. He took a last glance at the stairs before he walked towards the dining room with Jane walking beside him.
Despite having sat for almost five minutes Jackson did not pick up the spoon and there was no sign on his face that he was gonna do that anytime soon. The anxious look on his face while staring at the entrance made it obvious that he was waiting for someone.
"What is taking her so long?" Jackson mumbled inaudibly.
"Young Master, if you are worried about Young Miss, should I go and check up on her?" Lilian proposed when he saw how her boss repeatedly stares at the entrance.
"Young Miss, is there any other Young Miss here apart from me?" Jane asked trying to hide her anger behind that fake smile of hers.
"And did Jack said he was worried?" Jane added still maintaining her fake smile.
The real expression behind that fake smile showed that she would have slapped Lilian silly if Jackson wasn't there. Before Jackson could speak, Jasmine entered the dining room. The atmosphere she met made her guessed that something had happened and without even enquiring she knew that Jackson's girlfriend must have been responsible for the tense atmosphere.
"You are finally here," Jackson said sounding very relieved.
Jasmine did not respond. She just went close to where he was sitting and dish the food into his plate as she has been doing ever since he sustained the injury on his hand.
Jane glared daggers at Jasmine seeing her act like she was Jackson's wife. If looks could kill Jasmine would have died a thousand times.
"Why does the food looks so strange? Jack are you sure the food is safe for humans to eat. The thought I might have food poisoning after eating this terrible looking food terrifies me," Jane said to the shock of Lillian and the annoyance of Jasmine whose grip around the spoon tightened on hearing the lady's mocking words directed at her.
If you don't like the food then shut the f*ck up? Besides I didn't prepare the food for you.
Jasmine thought with clenched teeth.
"I love the food and the food is very ok so there is no need for you to make that disgusted face but if you are not ok with it then ask Lilian to heat the food in the fridge for you," Jackson said in a carefree tone.
"Since you said it is ok then I will just manage it. It has been a long we last eat together. Telling Lillian to heat the food in the fridge will take a lot of time," Jane said acting as though she was forced to eat the food.
"Jasmine, why aren't you sitting down already....,"
"Because I am leaving right now. I have to go prepare for my visit to my parents' home," Jasmine said as she bent a little more so that her mouth was close to Jackson's ear.
"I am afraid I might end up murdering that woman of yours if I spend another minute here," Jasmine whispered with gritted teeth.
"And also I hate being the third wheel," Jasmine said before she pulled away. She turned and walked out of the dining room.
"It is good that she knows where she belongs," Jane mumbled grinning thinking that she had succeeded in driving Jasmine away. Before her excitement died off she saw Jackson stood up from his seat and approach the entrance.
"What is wrong? Where are you going to?" Jane asked with her sweetest voice?
"I am going out. Leave after you are done because I might take a while," Jackson said.
"But you haven't taken a bit from the food," Jane complained bitterly.
"I lost my appetite since the moment she said she wasn't gonna join us for dinner," Jackson said firmly before he walked out of the room.
Jane could no longer control her temper the moment Jackson walked out on her.
"It has been over three months since we last saw each other and he won't even let me eat with him just because of her. Jack wasn't this way when I left so what has that b*tch done to him to make him treat me this way?" Jane said angrily as she banged her hands against the long brown dining table. She completely forgot that Lilian was still around. On realising that someone else was there she threw Lilian a murderous glance.
"What the heck are you staring at?" Jane shouted at the innocent Lilian.
"I am sorry," Lilian said before she hurried out of the dining room.
"That is what she deserves for wanting to make Miss Jasmine look bad in the eyes of the Young Master," Lillian thought as she continued walking.
Jackson was so lucky to have met Jasmine just outside her car.
"What are you doing outside? Were you not supposed to spend some sweet time with her?" Jasmine turned to ask on seeing Jackson approached her.
"I forgot that we do not have her favourite wine at the wine racks so I need to go and buy it now," Jackson lied blatantly.
"You are willing to abandon your food just because you want to buy wine for her? What an ideal boyfriend you are," Jasmine said sarcastically.
"I won't be surprised if you princess carry her every day when you realise that she is carrying your child," Jasmine said staring at Jackson now standing in front of her.
"I haven't thought about that but I don't think that is a bad idea," Jackson replied in a carefree tone.
"You are so annoying. I wonder why I am even wasting my time talking to you," Jasmine said as she turned around to open her car.
"Let me drop you off at your mansion on my way there," Jackson said as he quickly rested his back against the door of her car.
"No thank you, sir, I don't want to take more of your time. I am sure that lady in there will murder me if she learns that you wasted so much time because you had to drop me off," Jasmine's sarcastic tone almost made Jackson laugh out loud had he not control himself.
