Chapter 69 - Bad Timing
Chapter 69 - Bad Timing
"You can't blame me for knocking on the door at such bad timing. You can only blame your luck for it," Jackson said without any sense of sympathy.
"I guess, I can't stay here any longer with your two naughty friends around," Jeff and Steve heard a lady's voice behind Jackson's back. It was when they got a glimpse of the lady's face that they understood why Jackson was so furious.
They could not believe they ruin a night that should have been the most memorable night for Jackson.
Jackson reluctantly stepped out of the door for her to pass.
"I owe you a wish for today's reward, feel free to ask me for whatever you want, my body is not included ok. It's way too expensive for you to use just one wish for," Jasmine said as she tapped Jeff by his right shoulder before she walked away with the bottle of wine in her hand.
"I should murder you both for what you did but I will forgive you just this once but believe me it won't end with just a punch if you both try this once again," Jackson said as he angrily walked back into the room.
Jeff who was still massaging his swollen cheek followed Jackson before Steve joined him.
"Take this tissue, your lip is bleeding," Steve said as he handed the box of tissue paper to Jeff before he sat down on Jackson's right-hand side.
"He punched me so hard. This is the most painful punch that I have received. I wonder what you and Jasmine were doing that warrants me to suffer such an injustice," Jeff said unhappily as he cleaned his bleeding mouth.
"You both ruined my first kiss with her," Jackson blurted out to the surprise of his two friends.
"And not only that your presence ruined my chances of bonding with her. With how drunk she was, I am certain my relationship with her would have tremendously improved but you both ruined my chances of getting the only woman I love. I am so angry," Jackson said fuming in annoyance.
Hearing his words, Steve and Jeff could not blame him for acting the way he did earlier. They did not even know what to say to him to appease him for ruining everything for him.
Back in Jasmine's room, Catherine rushed to meet Jasmine after she entered the room.
"Jasmine, tell me you did not do anything inappropriate with him," Catherine questioned her.
"I wanted to completely bewitch him but I didn't get the opportunity to execute my plans before his friends came to his rescue," Jasmine said as she sat on the couch with her legs crossed.
"I was so sure of collecting back the contract if I had kissed him as I had wanted," Jasmine said unhappily.
"Jasmine, I hope having so much fun by hanging out with them so often has not made you forget your reason for going through all these troubles? I think Jackson is a nice guy but never forget that acting is acting," Catherine scolded sternly.
"No matter how much fun I have I will never forget that acting is acting. I know what you are afraid of but I assure you, it will never happen. I ceased to have a heart years ago and I can assure you that no man will be able to retrieve that heart I threw away," Jasmine said coldly.
I keep seeing that supposedly dead heart of yours keep drawing closer to him so I really hope you are right about this Jasmine. I won't hesitate to murder any man who dares to hurt you again.
Catherine thought as she shifted her gaze to the bottle of wine on the table.
"You have drunk way too much tonight so go freshen up so you can sleep. Don't forget you have tons of work to do tomorrow," Catherine said seriously.
"Yeah, you are right about that. Apart from the numerous shoots, I still have to hang out with him tomorrow so I will freshen up now," Jasmine said as she stood up from the couch and head towards the direction of the bathroom.
After Jasmine finished freshening up, Catherine entered the bathroom. When Catherine came out of the bathroom she was glad to see that Jasmine had slept off. She lied down beside Jasmine after doing all she wanted to do.
The next day, the two ladies who had come back from the club late slept until late in the morning. Despite all the calls the magazine team bombarded them with they still slept soundly.
It was as if they had predicted last night that this would happen that is why the ladies both put their phones on silent.
Catherine woke up when the loud knock on the door refused to stop.
"You are just waking up?" The furious looking guy asked in surprise when he saw Catherine's sleepy eyes.
"What is that expression for, it is too early for the shoot right?" Catherine who felt so sleepy asked.
"It is still too early? How is 10:00 am too early when I told you that shooting was going to start at 8:00 am today?" Nathan the director of the team said angrily.
"Can you lower your voice, you are gonna wake her up," Catherine scolded coldly.
Look at how shameless she is. She did not even feel any remorse for standing the entire team up for two hours. She should be grateful our boss told us not to make the overbearing Jasmine Avans angry since she can change her mind at the dying minute, I won't have been so coolheaded with them.
Nathan thought as he gritted his teeth to control his anger.
"We are all waiting for Miss Jasmine downstairs, wake her up and tell her to freshen up and come downstairs. We have a lot to cover today," Nathan said before he walked away in anger.
"Look at how he got angry at us. Who does he think he is? If not for Jasmine's mission to get the contract back, Jasmine wouldn't have spared them a glance not to mention being featured in their magazine. He should thank his lucky stars that Jasmine is still awake. I am certain she would have taught him a serious lesson if she was awake to hear the way he talked to me," Catherine mumbled angrily before she shut the door.
