Chapter 160 Hidden Dungeon
Chapter 160 Hidden Dungeon
'At least I will get a lot of experience from completing this quest.' Alex thought as he walked out of the Adventurer Guild building.
Alex accepted the quest the Alchemist Elder quest as there were no other quests that matched the knowledge from his previous life.
'I just hope that this is the right quest.' Alex thought as he quickly navigated his way toward the Alchemist guild branch.
Alex had no clue if the quest was correct or not, but he was willing to waste a few days, let alone a few hours, for the Beast Monarch legacy as it had too much importance and value to be left alone.
After walking for a few minutes, Alex reached a four-story building made from clear glass and colorful wood with tens of NPCs and players going in and out of it every second.
'Let's burn some money.' Alex thought as he silently walked through the crowded door of the Alchemist guild.
Alex didn't need to go and hunt ogres and orcs for their blood when he could just buy them from the alchemist guild and give them to the elder to complete the quest.
The trade would make Alex lose money as the ingredients would be expensive, and he didn't know how many ingredients he needed to buy before confirming whether the quest was correct.
The first floor was bustling with activity, as one could see long lines in front of the tens of available counters.
Alex ignored the crowd and went straight to the second floor to first register as a guild member and properly use his free privileges because, without them, it would take forever to get the ingredients he needed.
The hierarchy and functioning of the Alchemist guild were the same as the Adventurer guild, as each member had a starting Rank that they could increase by doing quests or by being valuable to the guild.
The higher ranking guild member enjoyed the benefits like having access to rare and better potions and getting the services of higher Ranking Alchemist.
After reaching the second floor, Alex went to one of the counters with the shortest line and patiently waited for his turn to register as a member.
"Adventurer, you need to place your hand on this crystal to get registered as an Alchemist guild member." The cat lady said to Alex, pointing at a white crystal device.
Alex did as he was told, and within seconds, he received a message that he was F ranked member of the Alchemist guild.
"I would appreciate it if you could help me update my member status," Alex said, placing his golden privilege badge in front of the receptionist.
"Respected Sir, It would be my pleasure to help you." The cat lady's eyes went wide momentarily seeing the gold badge, but she quickly calmed her emotion and replied with a bright smile.
The few players near Alex were surprised to see the receptionist's reaction, but even after seeing the golden badge, none recognized it as it was just too rare of a thing.
After taking back his badge, Alex left the area, ignoring the few players who tried approaching him to know what he did.
---------------
(Six Hours Later)
"Adventurer, Elder Nazruth wants to meet you." A demi-human female said to Alex.
'It's about time that greedy Alchemist meets me.' Alex thought as he signed in relief.
After becoming a guild member, Alex bought the necessary ingredients and submitted them at the submission counter to complete his quest.
The rewards Alex received were just some uncommon ingredients, but he did level up three times, which was good, and after a few minutes, his quest was updated, requiring some other ingredients.
Alex kept buying the ingredients from the guild and submitting them to complete his quest, and in the last six hours, he had repeated this process thirteen times.
"Elder Nazruth is waiting for you inside, and do remember, don't touch anything in the room." The demi-human female said as she opened the door.
Alex entered the room, and the first thing he felt was the intense smell of burning rubber which made him feel dizzy and nauseous.
The room was quite spacious and was filled with big shelves with glass jars filled with ingredients, and in one corner of the room, there was a massive cauldron, and next to it stood a giant man.
"You don't like the aroma in my workroom?" The man standing in the corner said in his deep voice.
'I didn't expect him to be a member of the rare treefolk species.' Alex thought, looking at the man with dark brown skin and a heavy beard made of vines.
The man stood at 7.9ft tall with a thin build, and other than him resembling a living tree, he looked no different from a human.
"It isn't delightful," Alex replied truthfully, knowing that treefolk could easily sense if someone was lying.
"Yes, It is not delightful, at least not for someone who doesn't love Alchemy to his core," Nazruth said as he casted a magic spell that made the whole room smell fresh.
"Let's have a seat," Nazruth said as he pointed toward the sofa in the corner of the room.
Alex went to the sofa and took his seat, and after they were both seated, Nazruth offered him a cup of tea.
"Adventurer, I would like to thank you for your excellent help in providing me with so many useful ingredients in such a short time," Nazruth said with a smile.
[Firendly Relationship with Alchemist Nazruth]
'This would be helpful.' Alex thought, hearing the system notification.
"I need to get some special ingredients, but I don't think you could acquire them with your strength, so that is why I have decided to free you from the agreement by giving you one final compensation for your help," Nazruth said as he placed a ring on the table.
'Now, I am pretty confident that he has the beast Monarch's heart.' Alex thought, looking at the ring.
In Alex's previous life, the guild who discovered the first Beast Monarch's heart, published that they got the heart as a reward after killing a special monster at the end of the chain quest they received from adventurer guild branch elder Varos.
The information available on the quest and the first heart of the Beast Monarch was very limited, so Alex had no choice but to work with what he had, and from the looks of it, things were developing in the right direction.
"This space ring has the compensation for your help," Nazruth said as he pushed the ring toward Alex.
'He is generous with the compensation, but let's confirm if my guess is correct.' Alex thought as he checked the contents of the ring.
"I might not have the strength myself, but I can help," Alex said, and his reply put a smile on Nazruth's face.
"If you are confident in clearing a hidden Dungeon with the entry limit being the peak of the third Rank, then you certainly could help me," Nazruth said with a smile as he refilled Alex's empty tea cup.
'This is definitely the quest.' Alex thought with a smile.
Alex was unsure if he was on the right track to get the Beast Monarch's heart because he was doing some pretty standard quests, but now he was sure he was on the right track.
"I can handle a hidden dungeon with a cap of the third Rank," Alex said confidently.
"Let's see if you can," Nazruth said, and immediately Alex received a quest notification.
----------------
[Grand Master Potioneer Request] [SS+]
Objective: Clear ??? Dungeon
Time: One Month
Reward: One year of free service from Elder Nazruth + 25 Level
Penalty: None
Description: Alchemist Guild Elder Nazruth has given you the request to clear a hidden dungeon and share your finding from the dungeon with him.
[Accept: Yes/No]
----------------
'He is a Grand Master Potioneer? But more importantly, why is Beast Monarch Heart not being rewarded.' Alex thought, surprised seeing the quest.
"Adventurer, If You can clear the [Abe the Dishonored Lab] and get me all the research material, I will teach your chosen candidate the art of Alchemy and brew high-quality potions for you free of cost for you for one year," Nazruth said after a few seconds of silence.
'It looks like the Beast Monarch's heart is in this hidden dungeon.' Alex thought after thinking over the whole situation.
Alex was not certain with his guess, but he also couldn't just ask Nazruth if he had an unknown heart, so the only option was to clear the hidden dungeon and see if the heart was located in it.
"I will do my best to complete your request, and thanks for your trust," Alex said as he accepted the quest.
After asking Nazruth what he knew about the hidden dungeon, Alex left the Alchemist guild and went straight to the teleportation center to go to the Darkness kingdom, as the dungeon was located there.
