“He is as ruthless as ever.” KB twitched as he watched, he didn’t expect Li Yao to kill so readily during the competition.

“Prairie Fire has always been like that, cold and domineering, indifferent to human relationships, but that’s precisely where his charm lies. He is arrogant and confident, but it must be admitted, he has the means to back it up,” defended Xiao Ze.

“Indeed,” KB commented. “His reaction and judgement were astonishing. Just now, Gu Cheng tried to transform into a panther to dodge the tree point, but miscalculated. However, Prairie Fire did a backflip to offset the force, and then he used the Magic Spider Silk to stick to a big tree, landing safely on it.”

“Yeah, well-done. Look at the other parachuters, many died on the big trees. This is just too cruel, just starting up and they’ve already lost their chance for revival,” Xiao Ze echoed in awe.

“The first round is designed to eliminate the weak players, leaving behind the real experts,” KB said.

“Indeed, cruelty… luck is also tested.”

“When did my son become so arrogant and domineering? Everything I taught him was a waste,” Li Yao’s father said, disturbed by the continuous screams and cheers around him.

“You taught him? What did you even teach? Now our son is so domineering, isn’t that right, Li Jia?” Li Yao’s mother argued back.

“I also think my brother looks so cool right now, did you see those women screaming? They are all cheering for my brother,” Li Jia said as she stared at Li Yao’s figure, her eyes shaped like crescent moons.

“Like a wild crowd, this is unacceptable,” Li Yao’s father frowned.

“Play the act, keep playing. Don’t say it in front of me next time, I don’t know who was the one playing Mecha games when he was young…”

Li Yao’s father covered his mother’s mouth, “Alright, alright, can’t you just save me some face?”

“Eh, where did my brother disappear to?” Li Jia suddenly asked.

Now everybody realized this; Li Yao had disappeared.

“Why does he seem to move with the stealth of a thief?” Xiao Ze frowned.

“Can a Mechanical hunter steal stealth from a thief? This should be impossible,” KB said, also puzzled.

“It is said that at level 60, hunters can learn a skill called Camouflage, which allows them to temporarily stealth. But there’s no Skill Book for it, so it’s not Camouflage. Perhaps it’s some sort of item,” Xiao Ze speculated.

“It’s possible, engineering has many interesting things. After all, the game is still new, so it’s normal to not see some recipes yet,” KB said, drifting away from the topic.

Knowing there was a camera tracking him, Li Yao frowned and immediately activated the Dark Ranger’s passive ability, disappearing from everyone’s sight.

Even though he was stealthy, Li Yao remained cautious. The passive ability could mask his scent and smell but not his sound.

With over two years of experience as a thief, and a thief who stayed in the shadows for two years, his stealth was not weak.

Li Yao swept through the jungle without making a sound. Looking at the environment, Li Yao deduced that this should be the territory of the Amazon Tribe.

Of course, the jungle is vast, and the Amazons no longer have the control they used to. Now, the jungle was in total chaos.

Li Yao was very clear about the queen’s character. She asked them to kill bosses above level 10, but did not specify that there weren’t any high-level monsters here.

Indeed, Li Yao was right. He suddenly heard the flapping of wings.

Then a shadow flew by. Li Yao looked up and saw a gigantic bird soar past.

Its body was covered with dense, red scales, and there were a bunch of red feathers on its head that were very conspicuous.

Red Sleeper Bird

Rank: Level 32 Boss

Li Yao’s Eye of the Creator could only see this much information. The Red Sleeper Bird gave a screech and swooped down.

A player who did not know what was happening was grabbed by the talons of the Red Sleeper Bird and ripped into two.

This scene did not only occur where Li Yao was watching. Within a short period, hundreds of players were attacked, killed off, or had already engaged in battle with monsters.

Adding in those who died falling or being pierced by trees, the main screen showed that thousands of players had already lost a life.

The audience was completely engrossed, their blood boiling, wishing they could enter the battlefield themselves. Even more people were gleefully spotting famous or professional players and watched as they were brutalized by monsters.

The death count on the screen continued to rise, and some players had even died twice already.

The vast majority of the players inside were not professional, but simply those who had obtained the qualification. They had no competitive qualities.

They had already started cursing vulgarly. The test was set too brutally, with ruler monsters of all levels inside. Without the secondary profession of appraisal, there was no way to obtain information about the monsters.

They could only test with an attack. For low-level monsters, given they mastered over two elite skills, it would be a piece of cake. But, if the monster had a high level, and the player could not break its defense, it would be bad luck.

Li Yao also planned to learn appraisal, as there would be situations in the

future where they’d have to gamble on identifying item attributes in need of appraisal.

Li Yao also didn’t want to learn ordinary appraisal, so he postponed it for a while until his level was good enough to reach the relevant map.

Li Yao did not rush to find any monsters. He was very well aware that this test was a collective transmission where even if you killed the boss, you’d have to wait and get teleported out with everyone else.

What’s particularly cruel about this rule is that even if you kill the boss, if you die more than five times, it’s still considered as a failure.

Li Yao needed to find a relatively safe area, not patrolled by high-level monsters. Of course, this area also needed to have a suitable boss.

Among the players in the test, there were only two or three hunters among tens of thousands of players.

The class with the lowest mortality rate was the thief because of the existence of stealth. As long as the thieves were skilled and careful enough, they would basically not be killed by high-level monsters.

Even if they were to probe high-level monsters, thieves most of the time can still manage to escape.

This is the confidence that allows thieves to compete with hunters as the king of the wild. But, so far, no hunter has gotten that title.

Ka-ka…

Li Yao suddenly saw a tree branch in front of him spontaneously break. He was alarmed.

He was thinking it was not good, as thieves were just as stealthy, and better at detecting stealth than other classes.

For example, if a druid cat form and a thief are both stealthy and they get close to each other, the thief would definitely be the first to sense the druid cat form.

In other words, the thief on the opposite side must have sensed his presence. But, since he was still moving towards himself, that could only mean one thing.

He’s trying to kill him….
