Chapter 133 - Great Rero Desert

Chapter 133 - Great Rero Desert

Chapter 133: Great Rero Desert

After three days and three nights of traveling, Fike and his group had finally arrived at the Great Rero Desert on the outskirts of the Imperial Capital.

The temperature here was already noticeably higher than in the city.

The carriage stopped at the edge of the desert.

“Prince Consort, Ninth Princess, we have arrived at the Great Rero Desert!”

Fike opened the window of the carriage and stuck his head out.

The sky was tinged in a yellow ochre color. As far as the eye could see, there was only sand around in all directions.

“Alright, got it, we will get off now!”

Fike said to the coachman who had just addressed him.

The six of them in the group got off their carriages one after another as the coachman brought down their luggage bags they had packed for their trip.

“Prince Consort! Then our duties end here! I wish you success in your investigation!”

After giving them a polite send off, the coachman drove the carriages back in the direction of the Imperial Capital of Rowei.

Fike put all of their luggage into the Spatial Ring that had been created by Bert, and the professors, along with Lan Xi, discussed enthusiastically among themselves after seeing Fike use such a mysterious magical item that they had never seen before.

However, it was short lived, and it was not long before Cisco took a map of the Rero Desert he had bought earlier in the capital.

He carefully observed the route they planned to take.

“We’re here now… Then we have to go through here… and then here… Finally, we’ll see the Exotic Beast Tower here!”

Cisco’s fingers glided back and forth across the map, and he looked as if he had a plan in mind.

“Alright! Let’s not talk anymore! Let’s go!”

Casey urged.

The difference in temperature between day and night in the Rero Desert was significant. During the day, when the sun hung over them, the temperature was scalding.

At night, after the sun set, the temperature dropped to a freezing point.

As Fike had cultivated his Divine Body, he wasn’t too affected by these changes, and he seemed the most relaxed out of the six in their group.

Lan Xi, on the other hand, was weakest, and she trailed behind.

“Lan Xi, are you okay?”

Fike asked with concern.

She was sweating, but after hearing Fike so concerned, she simply waved at him.

“I’m fine, let’s continue!”

“Do you want some water?”

Fike took out a leather canteen and handed it to Lan Xi, who accepted it gratefully and gulped down a few mouthfuls.

Meanwhile, Cisco and the other three professors were so hot that they had taken off their clothes, leaving only the thin inner singlets on their bodies.

“Director Cisco! How long do we have to walk?”

Iamas asked.

“It’ll take a while! I saw on the map that there should be a courier station nearby.”

“Really?”

Casey wiped the sweat off his forehead.

“Then let’s find the station and rest for a bit. The climate is getting really bad!”

After having trudged arduously through the sand for quite a while, everyone, with the exception of Fike, had lost the strength to continue moving forward.

“Fike… you… how do you… still have strength?”

Casey panted, exhausted.

Fike only scratched his head.

“Hahaha, maybe my physical fitness is just better!”

Fike glanced at Lan Xi beside him, who was already in a pretty bad condition.

Seeing that she was about to fall, Fike quickly pulled her back.

“I’ll carry you!”

Fike offered gently in Lan Xi’s ear as he heaved her over his back and continued to follow the group’s footsteps.

It was now noon, the hottest time in the day, and the group’s pace had slowed to a crawl.

At this moment, a message was suddenly transmitted from the hidden message.

[Hidden Information: A large number of Exotic Beasts have appeared in front. Please pay attention! Please pay attention! Please pay attention!]

Fike immediately relayed the warning to the group.

“Everyone, be careful! A group of Exotic Beasts has appeared in front!”

After hearing this, Cisco and the other three professors, who had been exhausted earlier, instantly tensed up.

They found a small sand dune that could be barely considered tall, and the group hid behind it.

As expected, a group of Exotic Beasts was trudging in their direction.

Fike estimated that there were about twenty of them, each around the level of an Overlord-tier, with their leader slightly higher.

Such a group would be small fry to Fike.

“Why are these beasts here?”

Casey whispered.

“It must be related to the Exotic Beast Tower!”

“But look, these Exotic Beasts are strange! They don’t look as fierce as they usually do.”

Fike had noticed that the appearance of these creatures were clearly different from before.

Every Exotic Beast Fike had seen before were all fierce, and left their tongues sticking out.

Moreover, their eyes were always fixed in an angry glare. No matter where they were, their bodies would always emit a strange killing intent unique to Exotic Beasts.

“Look, everyone! There’s a man behind the beasts!”

Lan Xi whispered to the group.

Fike looked around, and sure enough, behind the pack of creatures was an old man with white hair, a long beard, and glasses, following along on crutches.

However, this scene seemed to be different from what Fike had seen in Miracle Forest.

Rather than the old man being held captive by these Exotic Beasts, it was more like he was driving the creatures forward.

These Exotic Beasts were like sheep in the old man’s cage.

‘Glasses?

‘Are there glasses in Miracle?’

Fike thought to himself.

“Hold your horses, we may as well follow them and see where they go!”

Iamas suggested.

“Isn’t it too dangerous?”

Lan Xi retorted.

“Everyone, just be careful. This is also part of the investigation!”

Casey voiced out as well.

After some discussion, the group decided to follow the old man and his pack of Exotic Beasts.

Trailing quietly behind him as the old man moved past them, they watched as he walked through the numerous small sand dunes as if he was familiar with the place.

As they traversed through the desert, Fike and the others lost track of how long they had been following him.

Finally, the old man arrived at an oasis in the Rero desert, which resembled a small lake with three or four coconut trees that surrounded it.

Fike noticed that the old man seemed to be chanting some kind of spell, and a moment later, a huge building was erected from under the yellow sand.

Grains of sand flew in all directions like a fountain.

The words “Desert Courier Station” were inscribed on the top of the building.

When the group saw the plaque, they were all delighted, but puzzled as well. They didn’t know what the old man was planning to do here.

“Come in!”

An old and firm voice came from the station in the desert.
