Chapter 273 Marcus Attacks Max
Chapter 273 Marcus Attacks Max
In his murderous rage Marcus became completely oblivious to the realities of the world.
He did not care what Max's power level was, he did not care what Max's position in the military was, he did not care if he was going to get hurt in the fight against Max, as the only thing that mattered to Marcus in the moment was to hurt Max, as only by hurting Max could the pain in his mind be numbed.
It was a stupid decision, one driven by nothing but a broken male ego that could not see the woman he obsessed over being claimed by someone else, and hence, breaking military rules, Marcus marched straight towards Max's office and unleashed a sword attack that sliced the whole structure in half.
Max's office on Maralago was a wooden cabin made from nothing but sticks and vines, and hence as the top half of the structure was sliced clean open it revealed Max sitting inside alongside 15 Garrison Commanders who looked very perplexed as to why a lieutenant had just decided to attack them.
" Lieutenant Marcus, what is the meaning of this attack? This could be grounds for insubordination, I could have you stripped of your rank and tried for mutiny!
Explain yourself now! " The Garrison Commander who was Marcus's direct superior shouted angrily at Marcus, but his words were to no avail.
" SHUT-UP! Today I'll end that piece of shit masked man.
He stole my name
He stole my girl
He stole my pride
And to add salt to injury
He showed me down, emasculated me and made sure I was watching.
He's given me a lot of shit in life, But no more, I'll take shit from him no more!
I'm Marcus Fucking Aurelius, the first prince of the Vampire clan and the heir to the throne, you Garrison Commanders should grovel at your feet and bow in respect to me, worship my very being.
But I don't care even if you don't, for today I come with a clear purpose in mind, fight me masked man, one on one, if you are a real man and not a coward, don't hide behind the mob and fight me alone ". Marcus said as he stared straight into Max's eyes with a maniacal look, one that was completely different from his usual demeanour.
Max was confused about a lot of things in the current situation.
It had been barely 15 minutes since Asiva left and he started his meeting with the first batch of Garrison Commanders under him, and Marcus was already back for revenge against him?
The funny part was that Marcus had declared his identity just now before all the garrison commanders, meaning none of them knew beforehand who he was, meaning he was sent here as a punishment without his identity rights.
The more funny part was that Marcus, the hoodlum who had always relied on his men to make lives of those he hated difficult, now wanted Max to be the bigger man and settle his grievances one on one.
Now that he did not have his underlings, he had suddenly changed his stance on dealing with his enemies it seemed.
Regardless, Max was not afraid of a one vs one fight, but what he was worried about was the consequences of killing Marcus.
Now that he had declared his name, Max could no longer get away with saying that he had no idea who Marcus was, as even though he might be currently receiving a punishment or serving a sentence, if he died, Regus Aurelius was not going to let it go unpunished.
This meant that Max could only beat the shit out of him and let him live regardless.
Max checked his opponent's strength and found out that he was tier3 just like Max which gave Max a lot of confidence in facing Marcus as his personal stats far outclassed his current tier.
Although he could not kill the man, he could still get a good beating in his face for the horrible things he did to Asiva and that would undoubtedly be satisfying.
The only thing that bothered Max a bit was the maniacal look in the eyes of his opponent.
Max could count every single blood vessel in his eye, because of how prominently it was popping out as Marcus stared into Max's eyes completely fearlessly.
It was unsettling and creepy, however not enough to intimidate Max.
Max sighed as he stood up from his chair, after brushing the dust off his uniform he said " Okay, let's do it, but I'll only do it under one condition.
We sign a system contract first that says that loser of the fight has to do one thing that the winner says, and they can't refuse- "
*SHUA*
Max narrowly dodged a powerful sword strike that could have taken his head off as Marcus attacked Max mid speech not having a care in the world as to what he was saying.
" No conditions, no losers, YOU DIE TODAY" Marcus yelled as he stuck his tongue outside his mouth and charged towards Max at an incredible speed that left only an afterimage for people to trace.
*Block*
Max blocked the incoming sword attack through Kremeth's superior block technique but his eyes widened in disbelief when he realised that the force behind that sword attack was extremely strong.
Stronger than what even tier4 warriors should be capable of producing, yet Marcus wielded that power and it seemed to be effortless.
" DIE, DIE , DIE, DIE , DIE "
*Block*
*Block*
*Block*
*Block*
*Dodge*
The garrison commanders watched mouth agape as Marcus madly swung his sword towards Max with his every attack creating a small crater in the ground underneath by the sheer force of impact.
They hesitated before interfering because of the Aurelius name, otherwise protocol mandated that they come to aid their captain.
But for now, everyone decided to sit tight and just watch, because they had no idea what the consequences would be to support the wrong party in this fight.
