Chapter 658 Betrayal
Chapter 658 Betrayal
?
Max was not suspecting anything, he did not have his senses on high alert, nor did he have a reason to believe his life was in danger.
When he re-entered the controlled universe, his full attention was on the system notification he had received and was not even looking outside the windows of his shuttle.
[ System Notification - You have re-entered the boundaries of the controlled universe.
You have entered a ' Battle-Zone ' , please note you will die permanently inside Battle-Zones.
You have been identified as player 'Ravan' and are not a fugitive.
You will be allowed to enter and your system functions will be restored after an initial scan is complete ]
As Max was reading the system notification, an attack out of nowhere came and blasted his ship to smithereens, stunning Max completely and blasting him off into open space.
*KABOOM*
' What the….? ' Max wondered what the heck was going on, but before he could even begin to assess his condition he found someone pressing their arms underneath his shoulders and over his neck as they held him in a tight lock-grip.
Thankfully, Max was now a god and had the power to move around freely in space, otherwise he would have been dead meat by now, but despite his newfound unbelievable strength as a god, when he tried to shake off the iron grip of whichever hand was holding him down, he found that he was unable to shake it off.
" Have you missed me boy? Oh lord you've grown strong, I'm struggling to hold you tight even though you're a tier weaker than me " A familiar voice whispered in Max's ears as Max immediately recognised who it was.
Max's eyes widened in disbelief, he was being held by none other than Khnum, his own teacher who had taught him the way of the water, the ancient god who had lived a life even longer than his master Kremeth!
Max was caught off-guard at the start, but he had regained his wits by now as he attempted to use the Agni-Astra's special move the [ World Ember ] and blast Khnum with a powerful attack which he would be immune from, however, his plan was foiled before it was ever set in motion as another entity hidden behind a nearby asteroid finally took action.
Max watched in horror as the purple eyed god he was all so familiar with moved towards him with a sinister smile on his face.
" You have matured even better than I could ever have hoped for, boy. But alas you were always a lamb being raised for slaughter " Angakok said as he rammed his fist straight into Max's gut with all his strength causing Max to cough a small amount of blood as it knocked out all the wind out of his lungs.
A million questions arose in Max's mind, but it only took a moment for him to sort all his thoughts as he understood exactly what was going on.
He had long felt that Angakok's unusual kindness was always going to have a price.
He knew this day was bound to come sometime and had even been warned about it by his master Kremeth.
Today, it seemed like whatever Angakok was waiting for had finally been accomplished and he was ready to make his big move.
The last thing that he could think before he blacked out from Angakok and Khnum placing him in a choke hold was absolutely horrible insults for the Shaman God as well as for his own luck for not choosing [ Constant Teleportation ] as one of his tier 6 Choices.
If he had that move in his arsenal he could have teleported away from this mess. But he also knew it was all wishful thinking, as nobody could run from an ancient god like Angakok forever.
He was bound to face whatever Angakok had in store for him sooner or later and it seemed like the day of reckoning was finally here.
" Carry him, we must move him to the site of ritual before he regains consciousness. We don't have much time " Angakok ordered as Khnum the loyal dog scurried to do as told.
The two god's zoomed away with Max on their shoulders as they carried him to a nearby planet where they have already set up the soul transfer ritual.
*********
( Meanwhile Kremeth )
Kremeth watched from a distance as the dastardly duo blindsided his student and knocked him out cold.
Just out of curiosity, he had cast an inspect spell on Max when he was being held by Khnum to see whether or not his promotion was a success or not and the resulting inspection notification sent a chill down even his old spine.
[ The Primal God ]
It displayed nothing other than his title and the title that Max was given was absolutely terrifying.
There were many god's in the universe, but only a handful of them had a godly title attached to themselves as it needed more than just being able to reach tier6 to be given a title.
It needed legacy and legendary deeds and often took tier6 god's quite some time to achieve that status.
For Max to be granted a title straight at promotion was very impressive and it was even an ominous sounding one in the form of ' Primal God '
Kremeth felt lowkey proud of his disciple for having such an achievement and wished to praise him if he were not stuck in such a horrible position at the moment.
When he saw Angakok punch his student in the gut he almost felt it as if he were being punched, but somehow he maintained his calm and reason and did not act impulsively.
He waited patiently and let the duo carry Max to wherever they were headed and followed behind at a safe distance.
He knew he had only one chance to save Max and still get away with his life intact and he intended to pick that opportunity at the best opening possible.
