Chapter 673 Passing The Torch
Chapter 673 Passing The Torch
?
Sebastian was very happy after becoming a god.
He had received a random tier6 move from the system as a reward for clearing the promotion test with an S rating, giving him a divine attack at his disposal.
He felt much stronger and faster than before, the difference between tier6 and tier5 was like heaven and earth and he gave all the credit for this growth to his master Kremeth.
His master had come in and within a short duration gave him a power-up tour, power levelling him from mortal hood to Godhood.
However, never in a million years would he have expected that after he became a god, his master would hand him his most priceless treasure-
His master had countless treasures whose net value would probably be 100 times the value of all Bloodfall clan assets combined, however, amongst all those treasures that just remained lying around like pieces of junk in his household there was one that was dear to his heart and which he never took off.
That treasure was the Vayu-Astra. The divine weapon left behind by the ancient wind god that had all the secrets of the wind element captured within.
It was the foundation of his master's fighting style, the fuel behind his Swift retreats and legendary attacks.
The weapon was literally synonymous with his master, as Sebastian could not imagine his master ever fighting without it.
Yet, today, his master had taken the weapon off for the first time ever and he had placed it in his hand.
" Master…. This I can't accept, this weapon is your most prized possession- " Sebastian said, visibly baffled as he was reluctant to accept this treasure.
Kremeth himself looked like he had aged 1000 years as he took off the Vayu-Astra.
Unlike the Agni-Astra, the Vayu-Astra was not a bound weapon, it could be taken on and off at the users will, however, never since the day that he had obtained the weapon from the wind-gods temple did Kremeth remove it once up till today.
" This is my graduation gift for you, my boy, with this weapon you can ensure that you keep yourself and that idiot of a boy Max secure.
I realised it during my recent battle against Khnum and Angakok, that I can no longer maintain my tier8 form even for a few minutes like before.
The battle had left me drained beyond my means and after the fight, I spat a mouthful of blood despite not taking any visible damage.
I'm old now, and probably won't ever be able to express my will as a monarch again.
You are young and have a lot left to achieve.
As a true coward, in a universe where tier8 monarchs reign supreme, I'm not inclined to show my face around much anymore if I'm unable to express tier8 strength, but I don't want to leave you fledglings thinking that your master has abandoned you.
This Vayu-Astra has been my most trusted companion throughout my journey as a god.
Today is the first day of your journey as a god, and if I've taught you well then you too will use it to reach tier8 and become a peak existence in this universe for thousands of years until someday you too can't express your tier8 strength anymore and pass it down to a beloved disciple.
The past few days, I've shown you a glimpse of how you can couple your necromantic ring powers with the Vayu-Astra.
However, there is much more you need to explore yourself in this.
Thankfully, you're a god now and have all the time in the universe to explore.
So don't cry boy and accept my gift from one coward to another " Kremeth said as he smiled warmly at Sebastian.
Sebastian clutched the weapon tightly in his palms but fell to his knees as he began crying uncontrollably.
He had never known his father properly and his mother had died when he was young.
The only social bonds he had ever cultivated were with his friends Max, Asiva and Anna while the role of the father figure in his life had been completed by Kremeth.
Facing such one sided love from him, Sebastian doubted if he was even worthy of being shown such grace and as to how he got as lucky to have a master like Kremeth.
Seeing his disciple tear up, Kremeth too felt emotional.
He knew Sebastian's display of emotion was genuine and that the boy felt overwhelmed by this moment, which was why he did not regret giving Sebastian the weapon as he knew that he was worthy of receiving it.
" I promise to grow to an old man like you master- and I promise to ensure the safety of Max and Mira as well.
The disciples of Kremeth the coward won't perish.
We will make you proud " Sebastian said with unprecedented conviction as Kremeth nodded in approval.
" Don't forget to kill some demons with it too " Kremeth said as he patted Sebastian on the back and hugged him goodbye.
As a reclusive man, Kremeth had never meddled with the politics of the universe and was already semi-retired.
However, today he took a full retirement from the universal stage. Never to return to active combat again.

( Meanwhile Max )
Following the council meeting, Max gave an urgent order to the Bloodfall clan logistics department to buy non-flammable bandages and metal shields with wooden handles.
His clan was tasked to be the ground support for the dragon's which meant that they would come under Dragon's Breath attack from the enemies.
Under such circumstances, wrapping his troops in non-flammable bandages turning them into mummies and equipping them with metal shields with wooden handles that would help insulate the heat would give them the best chances of survival.
Naturally, these were very nominal measures, as the first and most important line of defence would be him and the clone who would not let dragon fire fall on his troops, as dragon's breath could quite literally reduce his men to ashes with the non- flammable bandages being reduced to ashes alongside them.
