Chapter 988 The perfect move
" What you are saying, young man, it's not impossible, however, it can't be labelled as a sword move if you add other spells to it.
What you wish to create is the greatest attack sequence, not the ultimate sword move.
However, I will still help you" The sword saint said as he stroked his beard and looked at Rudra in approval.
He had hardly ever met someone who had deep insights into the sword but was not an absolute sword fanatic like himself, however, Rudra was one such man.
Not only did he have a great understanding of the dual-swordsmanship that he wielded, but also had a great understanding of its flaws and how to bridge them as he was a special individual in that regard who piqued the sword saint's interest.
The era which the sword saint belonged to was an era where fighters only focused on learning a single weapon for their entire life.
One was either a swordsman, or a spearman or a mage, but that was it for them as a fighter.
Those who touched the sword never touched a spellbook and while this helped the people of his time reach incredible heights in their chosen field, overall as a warrior they could not compare to the modern warriors with many versatile moves under their belt.
Before ascending to the Celestial realm, he had already mastered the perfect sword sequence, yet not only did the perfect warrior defeat it, but Rudra also managed to do the same and that too on his first attempt.
The pinnacle of swordsmanship could in the end only amount to this much and the sword saint was hence impressed by Rudra's desire to mix-in secondary moves to the perfect sword sequence.
The theory of any step-by-step move was the same. They attempted to control the variables of battle by limiting the options that an opponent had with every progressive move.
The first few moves were called a 'Set-up- sequence', they were a sequence of moves that would force the opponent into an unfavourable position and lay the groundwork for the 'Trap'
The 'Trap' was the penultimate move of any sequence and it aimed at deceiving or disarming an opponent to leave them defenceless for the 'Kill'
The ' Kill' as the name suggests was the damage dealing move of the sequence, the one for whom the entire set-up was made and it was this one attack that the entire lead-up was for.
In a pure sword sequence, all these moves would be martial, however, the sequence which Rudra envisioned was much more intricate and it used a much deeper level of trickery.
By combining the power of the seeds, Rudra was planning an attack sequence that would finally help him land a deep gash on the perfect warrior's body as he desperately wanted to hurt that bastard at least once.

( Meanwhile Max and Kremeth )
Kremeth woke up groggily and in chains as he tried to remember where he was and why he was in this situation?
He was previously on a merchant ship that was taken over by pirates, which meant that after being knocked out his current position might have changed to the pirate ship.
He was still alive and locked up amongst the other passengers in a dark and damp room of the ship and his lovely father who had knocked him out was patiently sitting beside him.
" What is the meaning of this father? Why did you knock me out!" Kremeth complained first after waking up as Max threw him a casual glance and said " Space pirates have attacked a vampire ship, what do you make of this situation? Do you think they are a rowdy and independent bunch or do you think they have backing?"
Kremeth mumbled under his breath for a second, he was still pissed about being knocked out, yet his father had conveniently changed the topic.
" I think someone is definitely behind it. This crew is not strong enough to have the balls to attack one of our ships, plus the fact that no responding frigates came means that they understand our response network well.
This is an inside job, most likely sponsored by one of the fallen clans who are not happy with how you are running things" Kremeth speculated as Max's eyes shone in pride.
His physical abilities aside, Kremeth most definitely had a sharp brain as his assessment was spot-on.
This has to be an inside job and Max already had a slight inclination as to who it might be, however, since Kremeth had proved to be a smart and capable kid up till this point, Max decided to give him a chance to figure out this mystery for himself.
" Alright, since you have a theory, you can now go out and collect proof-
This pirate ship has 40 tier2 pirates, 10 tier3 pirates, 2 tier4 pirates and one single tier5 commander.
It's nothing you can't handle, so go for your thing and force them to reveal who their boss is" Max said as he entrusted Kremeth with a small mission.
*Crunch*
*Clank*
Easily bursting out of his metal restraints, Kremeth stood up within the dark and damp room, causing the other passengers to go into a frenzy.
' Look someone free'd themself '
' Help! Please free me, help!'
' Boy! Boy! I'll give you five, no fifty silver if you free me, please free me '
One after another they begged Kremeth to help them and the commotion forced the guard outside to open the door and take a look at what the commotion was all about.
" Shut it! It's night-time and the vice captain is taking her beauty nap, so don't you dare disturb her" the guard shouted, however, the very next moment he saw blood red eyes staring at him from within the room and in the next instant his vision turned dark.
" *Sigh*, Knocking out your opponents? What are you in kindergarten?" Max wondered disappointedly as he realised just how soft Asiva had made their son.
