Chapter 1193 Obtaining the Final Piece
"It's been a long while since I've last arrived at this place."
Whoosh!
Appearing once more at the center of the Blacksmith Guild's Teleportation Hall, Valyr looked around his surroundings for a bit before glancing at the staff member looking back at him.
Seeing how she was staring at him ever since he appeared within the hall, the young man softly let out a chuckle as he flashed a faint smile at her, causing the young woman's legs to turn soft for a brief moment.
Letting out yet another chuckle at her reaction, Valyr went ahead and changed his appearance to the other identity he began to use more often, telling the woman after that to keep it a secret from others.
After making sure that any word of what he did would not leak outside the guild, it was only then did the young man leave the guild, allowing him to see the entirety of Anadhar City once more.
"…Ahh." Taking in a deep breath of the air within the city, the young man closed his eyes for a bit as he recalled the overall layout of the city within his mind.
Then, hastening his movement speed by activating [Flash of the Azure Dragon], he then went ahead and made his way to the city's entertainment district, grinning at the thought of the man that appeared in his mind.
"It's been a while since I last saw Jekyll," muttered Valyr to himself, thinking back to the couple times he'd met the man in the past.
The first time he met the man was back when he accompanied Wells to his family manor in the city.
Though, after thinking about it for a bit more, he remembered that he planned on heading to Anadhar to meet with Jekyll first to obtain [Gambler's Discerning Eyes]. It was only because Wells decided to tag along that he recalled more of the latter.
As for the second time he met up with the man, it was sometime before entering the Four Pillars' Inheritance. More specifically, it was around the time his identity as Ylvar became well-known in the blacksmithing world as a Rank 2 prodigy who forged an artifact.
During that time, Jekyll showed him the true version of the skill he'd come to know and love, which was a skill that focused on finding and pinpointing the weaknesses of one's enemies and using it to one's advantage.
'I suppose it would only make sense for it to be taken one step further,' thought Valyr to himself, feeling a hint of anticipation for what he felt would be the final version of the skill he'd obtained in his early days.
'After all, only a skill like that would be fitting for someone called the Northern Star to have.'
'Though, with the war still ongoing, I suppose it'd be better to call him the Silver Death from now on?'
…
"Here we are. The Silver Gambling Den."
Standing in front of the casino Jekyll was working in, Valyr felt a hint of nervousness at the thought of meeting the man after a long time had passed.
'Then again, almost a year has passed since we've last met.'
Fortunately, taking in a few deep breaths was more than enough for him to calm down, allowing him to ponder over his next steps as he eventually thought of heading into a nearby alleyway.
Swoosh!
'This will help things go smoother.' Deciding to make great use of his identity as Ylvar, Valyr changed his appearance before heading into the gambling den, immediately catching the attention of those who recognized him from the tournament.
Thankfully, a brief release of his aura was more than enough for those within the casino to understand his intentions, which was to not spread the news that he was within the gambling den.
Smiling at how almost everyone in the casino quickly understood what he implied, the young man then began to make his way to the back end of the casino, only to find a familiar man tending to the casino's rear portion like before.
"How may I help you, Ylvar?" Although he wasn't the direct target of the aura Valyr let out earlier, the man with the light gray hair still felt a hint of fear as he talked with the young man in front of him.
Though, seeing as how Valyr had no intentions of doing the same thing to him, the man eventually calmed down, allowing him to interact with the former like he did with the others.
"I'm here to find Jekyll," replied Valyr to the question after giving the man in front of him the time he needed to calm down. "He has something that I need."
"Er… I'll send a message to the boss, then. " Scratching the back of his head for a bit, the man briefly looked at Valyr with slight confusion before bringing up a screen in front of him. "Is there something else you want me to tell him?"
"Tell him that the one who inherited his legacy has met his requirements," replied Valyr after some time, finding it slightly peculiar that the man in front of him was going to such lengths. "Tell him that I now have an Intent."
"Okay…?" Though the man did not understand what Valyr meant by that, he still did as told, sending Jekyll a message containing all of the things the young man just told him, as well as a brief explanation of the situation in the casino.
"Say…" Seeing how the man continued to interact with the screen he brought up, Valyr finally began to get the feeling that something odd was going on. "Where is Jekyll?"
"He's uh… currently at the frontlines," replied the man after some time, causing Valyr to stare at the former in slight disbelief. "He left about a month ago. Told me it was his duty to fight for humanity."
"Could you tell me where he is, exactly?" asked the young man in response, feeling a slight headache coming up the more he talked.
"It was one of the defensive lines, but I'm not sure where…" said the man, only to pause as his expression brightened up from Jekyll's reply.
"The north defensive line. Jekyll is currently at the north defensive line." Shifting his gaze towards Valyr, the man began to talk with renewed confidence. "He told me that you should head to the north defensive line if you want to retrieve the remainder of his legacy."
"The north defensive line, huh?" Seeing that his thoughts had come true, Valyr could not stop himself from letting out a sigh as he faintly nodded in response. "Tell him that I'm on my way."
After saying those words, the young man proceeded to leave the gambling den, heading out of the city at the fastest speed he could muster.
"Well… it's ultimately my fault for waiting almost a year before meeting up with Jekyll again." "Haah… I just hope Juno keeps his side of the deal until I get back."
…
…
…
"…Achoo!"
"Is someone talking about me?"
