[Reforged High Human | Junior Defier of Fate (3rd Unsealing)] (Species)

Considered to be the superior variant of one of most well-known species throughout the universe, High Humans appear in the universe through three specific methods, each resulting in different outcomes.

The first method for one to become a High Human is through the ascension of one's class rank, unsealing the first three racial shackles a human has through species evolution.

Due to how easy one could become a High Human through this method, these High Humans are considered by the system as the weakest type, being barred by the system itself from improving their species any further.

Nevertheless, they are still considered a great improvement compared to normal humans. The second method for one to become a High Human is to be born innately as a High Human, needing at least one of their parents to have transcended mortality first for it to be possible. Unlike those that became High Humans through the system, those innately born as High Humans aren't barred from unsealing the remaining racial shackles within their bodies. Not only that, but they boast greater stats and abilities compared to a High Human formed through ascension.

Then again, compared to the final method, even innately born High Humans pale in comparison to them.

After all, what's better than being born as a High Human... if not becoming a High Human through one's own efforts.

With their efforts being recognized by the system, these High Humans are differentiated by the system by having the Reforged prefix to their species, showcasing that they've achieved their ascension to become a High Human without relying on the ascension feature of the system.

Just like innately born High Humans, Reforged High Humans aren't barred by the system from unsealing their remaining racial shackles.

At the same time, their stats and abilities are greater than even innately born High Humans, a reward of sorts from the system for their valiant efforts.

However, just like the differences between the various High Humans, not all Reforged High Humans are born equal as well, with some having the means to ascend their species even further through continuous effort.

Once the system realizes this, it automatically considers these humans not only as beings that go against the natural flow of the universe, but also as beings that potentially have the ability to forge a new path of power to the pinnacle.

In recognition of the potential power they hold and the threat they pose to the balance and natural order of the universe, the system categorizes these beings as Defiers of Fate.

With that, these beings are not only bestowed by the system with rewards befitting of their strength, but also tribulations that the system imposes upon them as a way for them to prove that their paths are indefatigable and infallible.

As a being classified by the system as a Junior Defier of Fate, do not hesitate in showcasing your strength to the universe. Being recognized as a Defier, the road ahead of you shall only become more treacherous the higher you go.

<Racial Skill: Defiance of a Thousand Aspirations - The human race is considered the strongest race in the universe when it comes to adaptation, able to survive in any situation and environment through sheer tenacity.

On the other hand, the Defiers of Fate are the pinnacle of this human nature, showing the human race that anything is possible with enough effort.

This skill converts 10% of the user's total base stats into Points of Aspiration, which can be allocated however the user chooses to do on their eight main stats.

Any stat points gained in the future shall also be converted into Points of Aspiration, but only under the condition that the user ascends to a higher class rank. Cooldown: 5 minutes.>

<Racial Passive 1: Reforged Constitution - Boosts all of the user's stats, as well as the user's maximum HP and MP by 10%. Also boosts all of the user's stats by 15 points each, as well as the user's maximum HP and MP by 1,500 points.>

<Racial Passive 2: Defiance Against Ascendants - Increases the temporary level increase effect of [Slayer of Ascendants] from 2 levels to 5 levels.>

<Racial Passive 3: Quasi-Longevity - Extends the user's lifespan to thrice of what it originally

was.>

<Tribulation 1: The XP cost to upgrade one's level or one's skills have been tripled.>

<Tribulation 2: All enemies slain by the user that are at least one level lower than their current level now only yield 1 XP.>

With all things considered, Valyr thought of his new species as a massive upgrade to his previous species in all aspects.

From the Racial Skill his current species gave him access to, to the various passives his current species had, Valyr had no complaints whatsoever with any of them.

However, when his eyes went over the last few lines on the screen, the satisfaction he felt towards his current species immediately dissipated as he began to adorn a frown.

"... What the hell is this?" muttered Valyr to himself at some point, not understanding what he'd done to obtain such detriments.

Fortunately, a second skim over the entire thing eventually allowed the young man to understand what was going on, letting out a faint sigh as he continued to look at it. "In short, it's the Records' fault why I have these two Tribulations."

"I didn't even know you could get Tribulations as a species. I've heard of Limitations before on some species, but not Tribulations," said Valyr to himself sometime later, only to let out a faint sigh once more.

With all things considered, even with the Tribulations, becoming a Reforged High Human was overall a net positive for him.

Of course, the fact that the XP cost to upgrade his levels and skills were tripled definitely annoyed him, but it didn't really matter much to him for the meantime, especially with how much XP he still had in stock.

That notion was even more pronounced when it came to his skills, considering he had access to the Realm of Myriad Experiences, a place that allowed him to improve his skills without the need to spend XP or Skill Keys.

Naturally, the second Tribulation was also a slight annoyance to the young man, but he also thought of it as a non-issue.

After all, he was more than confident in his own strength, even more so now that he'd proven himself capable against a true Myth-level being.

"Well, if I were to consider the Defier of Fate thing as a test from the system to see if my current path has the potential to go far, then I guess it makes sense for the system to impose Tribulations," said the young man to himself at some point while pondering over his

thoughts.

"Then again, I don't know if any other person classified as a Defier of Fate would say the same thing, though. After all, my current circumstances allow me to more or less ignore them." Faintly shrugging his shoulders at the thought, the young man soon shifted his attention towards the Racial Skills he'd obtained, specifically the one named [Defiance of a Thousand

Aspirations].

Reading through its description, the young man soon recalled the original version it was based off of, faintly nodding in understanding as he voiced his thoughts out.

"In comparison to [Hundred Aspirations], [Defiance of a Thousand Aspirations] is definitely

an upgrade in many ways."

From the ratio of stats transformed to Points of Aspiration to the cooldown time it had,

[Defiance of a Thousand Aspirations] could be considered an evolution to the original

[Hundred Aspirations] one would get as a High Human.

Though, what truly set [Defiance of a Thousand Aspirations] from it was the fact that one could convert more of one's stats into Points of Aspiration as long as one ascended to a higher

class rank.

On the other hand, [Hundred Aspirations] only allowed one to convert a portion of one's stats to Points of Aspiration during their ascension to High Human.

Deciding to actually make use of the Racial Skill later, Valyr soon looked over the passive skills he'd gained from his species, immediately nodding in satisfaction once he read over the description of the first one.

As for the second passive that involved [Slayer of Ascendants], the young man was somewhat surprised that one's species could affect the effects of a specific skill.

Though, with a bit of rummaging through his treasure trove of memories, as well as the fact that the skill meshed well with the whole Defier of Fate thing, the second passive eventually made sense to him, thinking of it as a boon while fighting higher-leveled enemies.

'If I had this passive while I was fighting against Myth-level Void Rabbit without relying on my trump cards, I would've probably won faster,' thought Valyr to himself. Eventually, his eyes landed on the last passive, which improved the [Basic Longevity] passive he previously had into a passive that was more potent than the former, but was half as potent than actual [Longevity]

'Does this mean that if I continue improving my species, this passive would eventually turn into [Longevity]?' Looking at the final passive that extended his lifespan, Valyr could not help but come up with such thoughts.

After all, [Basic Longevity], the passive he had before, was an inferior version of [Longevity],

which only doubled his lifespan.

On the other hand, [Longevity], which was what people throughout the universe sought after,

extended one's lifespan by five times.

'With my lifespan tripled... that means I could now potentially live for over a thousand years

even without ascending to Rank 4.'

Coming to this thought, it was no surprise that the young man began to calculate how long

he'd live if he were to become a Legend with the same passive.

The answer?

Around 2,250 years.

'It's seriously insane how simple it is to extend one's lifespan.' Letting out a sigh of wonder

from the number he came up with, Valyr thought back to the book he'd read on lifespan back

in the kingdom's Myriad Archives.

'The fact that I now have a passive that better bolsters that effect makes it more insane.'

Closing his eyes for a bit, Valyr soon closed the screen he brought up before taking a glance

outside the window.

"Now then. Since I've already ascended my species..."

"What should I do next?"
