"Damn."
Taking a look at the stats the armor set gave now that Valyr had done everything he could to improve it, the young man was left at a slight loss for words, feeling the armor to possibly be the best set of armor he'd forged thus far.
'It kind of makes me want to forge a set of the armor for my own,' thought the young man to himself as he looked through the stats of the other pieces making up the armor.
'It kind of makes me want to not give it to Myst.'
Inwardly chuckling at the thought, it did not take long for the slight greed he felt to disappear. 'Then again, the True Wyvern Armor would probably have similar stats once I push it to the peak of Rank 4.'
'On top of that, I soon plan on finally taking that step from the guide that turns the set of armor into something more tailor-made for me.' As this thought came to mind, a bitter smile briefly appeared on Valyr's face. 'I'll probably need to amass some more merit points before that happens, though.'
Naturally, while Valyr was viewing the upgraded set of armor through his own skills, Myst was doing the same with her own identification skills.
"This is..." Seeing the drastic change to the armor's properties now that Valyr was done pushing the armor to its limits, the woman was left at an utter loss for words, her mind immediately coming up with scenarios involving the armor in mind.
Unsurprisingly, one of those scenarios was her fight with the Greater Tidemother in the recent monster tide.
Allowing her mind to wander, she eventually felt certain that if she had the set of armor in her fight against the Greater Tidemother, she would have undoubtedly won the fight, even after the Tidemother underwent a second phase of sorts.
Taking in a deep breath to compose herself, Myst eventually closed the screen she brought up before looking at Valyr. "Are you really giving me this set of armor?"
Hearing those words, Valyr closed his screen before nodding back. "I did say I probably wouldn't be able to help the town defend against monster tides in the future. Thus, I've decided to forge this in the hopes it could compensate for my absence."
"I know that..." Myst nodded, though her expression was that of slight concern. "But isn't this armor a bit too precious? Doesn't this set of armor usually cost a lot? After all, Tristan told me that even Rare+ grade weapons took a lot of time and effort to forge."
"Oh, that. Don't worry about that." At those words, Valyr let out a chuckle, telling Myst to use her identification skill on the armor he was currently wearing.
Though she had no idea why Valyr asked her to do that, Myst still did what she was told, only to be left at a further loss for words once she took a look at the properties of the armor the young man was wearing.
Seeing the look of shock evident on her face, Valyr let out a bit of laughter as he voiced out his thoughts. "As I said, don't worry about that. It may take a lot of time and effort, but it's not really that much of problem."
"Plus, the cost of the materials I used to make armor is probably smaller than the amount of money I've spent while in the village, so it's fine."
At those words, it was only then did Myst hesitantly accept the set of armor that was now her
own.
Whoosh!
Equipping the set of armor for what was now the third time, Myst immediately felt the drastic difference between the armor from before and the armor she wore now, causing her to faintly wonder whether she was even wearing the same armor in the first place.
Fortunately, the dark and green appearance of the armor reminded her that she was indeed wearing the same set of armor, prompting her to profusely thank the young man for his efforts once more.
With the armor situation now settled, Valyr decided to ask Myst things about the monster tide, wanting to update what he knew in comparison to the information he'd accrued from the previous tides and from his past life.
Due to their conversation regarding the monster tide focusing mostly on the Greater Tidemother, Myst didn't spare even a single detail in her explanation, telling the young man her experiences while fighting against the Greater Tidemother.
After that, she talked about the Greater Tidemother's skills, as well as the weaknesses the town could use once the monster tide came.
By the time it had turned into afternoon, it was only then were the two finished talking, with Myst relaying Alfaera's words of getting some rest to Valyr as they parted ways.
Keeping her words in mind, Valyr thought about heading to the barracks to see if he could make use of the dormitory there.
However, after recalling what Alfaera and Tristan told him about Damian, Valyr eventually opted to head to the town hall instead, meeting up with Alfaera as he told her about how he needed a temporary place to stay for the meantime before the tide arrived.
In response, Alfaera told Valyr that he was free to stay in one of the town hall's multiple guest rooms before the tide arrived, prompting the young man to thank her as he briefly went outside the hall to get some food.
Having not eaten anything for the past couple of days while working on Myst's armor, it went without saying that Valyr engorged himself on a ton of food by the time he found a restaurant, causing some to look at him with shock due to his display.
Then again, the young man couldn't care less what the others thought, ignoring all of the stares he was getting as he gradually ate his fill.
By the time he was done, the day had already turned into night, prompting the young man to return to the town hall, only to be led to one of the guest rooms Alfaera had allocated for him
while he was away.
Feeling grateful to Alfaera after seeing all of the various amenities the guest room had, Valyr swiftly went through his usual routine before heading to bed, eventually falling into a deep slumber as he allowed the exhaustion from forging for over four days straight to seep in.
Because of that small decision, by the time he woke up...
The monster tide had already begun wreaking havoc before Astarto Town.
