"So what should we do, we can't just wait here expecting them to catch up with us"
"I don't think we need to, Melissa is running towards us," Rebecca said and they all turned their eyes toward the direction she was coming from.
Surprisingly she was extremely fast, as she reached where they were within seconds, she immediately dropped to the ground in exhaustion as soon as she reached, she had been running at full speed for some seconds now, and she even lost track of Alex.
"What about Alex?" Gabriel asked.
"He back there somewhere," Melissa said panting.
"I'm right here" Alex spoke also panting on the ground close to one of the trees.
"Huh!! when did you get here?" Melissa asked.
"Hehehe" Alex chuckled, "I'm quite fast and sneaky"
'I thought I could sense him but I didn't notice him till he spoke, assassins are really dangerous, I hope the demons aren't like assassins or we'll be killed before we figure out where they are' Rebecca mumbled to herself.
"You aren't faster than me, you came here after I did, though I'll commend you for keeping up with me," Melissa said as she stood up.
"How did you know?" Alex asked.
"I'm quite perceptive cause I know you are sneaky, get on let's leave before more wolves caught up to us," Melissa said.
The rider stood there astonished, they weren't even injured by the wolves and still had enough strength to race themselves back to the carriage, they were true warriors.
"Alex what are you waiting for get on" Max shouted.
"I'm sorry but I can't stand up" Alex chuckled.
"Are you joking or what, you know we are not safe here right, let's go" Gabriel spoke.
"I'm really serious, I can't stand up," Alex said.
"Please help him up let's keep moving," Melissa said and Max jumped down from the carriage.
"Uhmm guys, the wolves caught up with us," Rebecca said and Max quickly helped Alex up, both of them climbed into the carriage and the rider picked up the pace.
"You tried too hard to keep up with me, your stamina couldn't keep up" Melissa smiled.
"I should have started this game the moment it was released, I would have been one of the top players" Alex pouted.
"Oh, the rain is finally easing down" Lynx spoke.
"The wolves also stopped chasing us, maybe we should slow down a bit," Rebecca said looking at the rider.
"Oh you are right, we wouldn't want the wheel to break" the rider muttered as he reduced his speed.
'Interface' Alex mumbled inwardly.

Alex leveled up back then when he killed the blue orc but he didn't bother to check his interface, he was now at level 23 and gained 10 SP, the orc gave him 3,000 XP while he gained 1000 XP from the wolves he killed.
'My stamina and vitality are the only stats not up to 100, I should work on them' Alex mumbled as he sat upright, with the rain dying down the journey continued smoothly.
The carriage moved without stopping for about an hour, and they could see the village they were going to stop at from afar.
Nestled amidst large trees and bathed in a soft light lies the small village in front of them, while unassuming at first glance the village was more beautiful than most villages with large wood surrounding the village serving as a natural wall.
As their horse approach, they notice the rooftops adorned with colorful banners fluttering in the breeze, adding a touch of vibrancy to the otherwise humble dwellings.
Two guards were in front of the village and they stopped in front of the guards.
"We're heading to Zenith City" the rider spoke and they were guaranteed access.
"How come a village is here in the middle of the forest and it hasn't been raided by bandits?" Alex asked the rider.
"Huh! Haven't you heard stories about Elven village, you can't harm anyone inside the village, and the animals in the forest tend to protect the villagers" the rider spoke.
"What!! how come, and why is the name of the village Elven village?" Gabriel asked.
"From what I heard, the village was built by elves in the olden days, elves are one with nature, that was how they were able to build the trees, and once you are inside the village you would be able to attack anyone," the rider said.
"Wait, if you guys haven't heard the stories where are you from?" the rider asked.
"Somewhere" Alex replied as he looked around the village and was fascinated.
The village streets, though narrow, were lined with cobblestones polished by countless footsteps. Quaint shops with inviting storefronts display an assortment of handcrafted goods, showcasing the talent and creativity of the local artisans. Their wares range from intricately woven tapestries to delicate pottery, each piece carrying the mark of its maker's dedication and passion.
Amidst the bustling marketplace, a lively atmosphere fills the air. Musicians and street performers entertain passersby with their melodic tunes and skillful acts, eliciting smiles and laughter from young and old alike. The aroma of freshly baked pastries drifts from a cozy bakery, tempting visitors with their mouthwatering allure.
At the heart of the village, a bustling square bursts with activity. Here, villagers gather for festivals and celebrations, their laughter echoing against the backdrop of a beautifully adorned stage.
As they delve deeper into the village, a hidden gem reveals itself—a small library tucked away in a quiet corner. Its shelves overflow with books of every genre, inviting bookworms and curious minds to lose themselves in a world of imagination.
The gentle rustle of turning pages mingles with the occasional gasp or chuckle of someone engrossed in a captivating tale.
As twilight casts a soft, dusky hue over the village, lanterns suspended from tree branches and doorways illuminate the pathways, transforming the village into a magical realm. The sound of laughter and music lingers in the air, creating an enchanting ambiance that stirs the soul and leaves a lasting impression.
"The library must have spell books?" Gabriel said.
"You are right" Alex replied.
"You should wait till we get to the inn we'll be staying, we'll need to spend the night here" the rider spoke.
