Chapter 65.1. Masatoshi Eats Cold Pizza

-Masatoshi’s POV-

The commoners’ section was a gathering where shoulders were relaxed. Masatoshi was somewhat reassured by this and joined the party.

Since then, he had traveled to the Imperial Castle using the secret escape transition team. The secret transition team was located in a hidden room, and he moved through a door that only Sena and other members of the imperial family could open.

The transfer team was capable of transferring anywhere in the castle. Even if they get discovered, their pursuer couldn’t enter from the other side. And the door could only be opened by the imperial family members. Other people couldn’t misuse it.

As they moved around, they heard it was a transition camp used by the royal family who often sneaks in. In the past, it was used for emergencies, but now it seems to have been transformed into a place where people go out secretly.

So, since those who are familiar with the imperial castle know about it, even though it’s a secret, it’s said to be an open secret. It is only natural that the royal family would find out about it if they used it as a secret for generations.

When Masatoshi asked her what she’ll do on her way home, she replied she’ll walk back normally. It seems she’s going out incognito is a prerequisite for her receiving a sermon.

Masatoshi read the original story but knew there was no such thing in the novel. He thought it was inevitable because readers would be disappointed if they knew the backstory. Like the castle in the sky, Masatoshi thought that the novel’s world that became reality. It has a sense of life and is boring.

“Wow. What is this?”

“What is it? I don’t understand. A mysterious object?”

“It’s pig’s feet, pig’s feet.”

Sena was wondering about the pig’s feet on the plate in her hand, and Shin was twisting his head to see if he had never seen it before, so I told him. I could understand why he had never eaten them. I was aghast and wondered who had served pig’s feet as a dish. I guess it’s because it was cheap.

“What is this?”

“Is it a cookie?”

“It’s honeycomb toffee.”

He answered with a sigh, as Sena and Shin looked questioningly at the new honeycomb toffee in my hands. Who prepared the Honeycomb toffee? It was cheap, but.

“Then how about this?”

“Kaki no ta… It was too cheap! What’s with this dish!”

he finally puts his finger on what Sena is bringing. It was too cheap. I heard the food is gorgeous even in the commoner’s section, but it’s not.

“Ha-ha-ha. Your friend is funny!”

Sena and Shin bring in such strange food that he wonders if they’re not choosing it on purpose. It’s not bad, but those crispy-looking sticks are cheap, too.

To my dumbfounded triumph, the girl tapped me on the shoulder with a bang and burst out laughing.

“What!? Oh, no, what is it?”

He thought about yelling but held back because Sena was looking at him, and Masatoshi turned his gaze to the girl with a tight-lipped smile.

She has an ordinary dark-haired, dark-eyed girl. Short hair, a little shaggy. She’s wearing clothes that are probably one of a kind, but they are very old and faded.

She looked somewhat like a lotus leaf. She gives the impression that she has been through a lot at her age, but her cheerful smile erases the hardships she has gone through. She was that kind of girl. The freckles left on her face, and Masatoshi had the rude thought that this was a mob. She looked charming, but she had the not-so-good face of a background painting in a coffee shop or something.

“That’s the candy section over there. Everyone is going for expensive food, but only those kids. It’s funny, hahaha!”

“I wonder if they have pig’s feet in the sweets corner too.”

I look at Sena and Shin with half-lidded eyes, wondering if that’s what they mean when the girl taps me on the shoulder with a bang, laughing funnily. Okay, even though many people lined up at the other tables, especially the one where the grilled steaks were, he thought it was strangely empty there. Indeed, the sweets corner would not attract many people. The people in charge of this table were surprisingly busy. Whoever was in charge of this table probably wanted to show the unexpected things, but failed to do so. Apart from the sweets corner, there is a table with cakes and other desserts.

“Well, ……… that’s fine. You don’t have to eat here.”

They could always eat the food in this class. On the other hand, it would be difficult for them to eat spoiled sweets.

“Heh! That’s pretty good! By the looks of your hair. You must come from a pretty nice family.”

He waved his hand to ward off the following girl with a friendly, grizzled shoulder. Sena and the others are so engrossed in their candy that they are not paying attention to them. Then there’s no need to act.

“Noisy. You shouldn’t be able to talk to me.”

Guu~~.

He tries to shoo her away, and his stomach rumbles, causing his cheeks to turn red. He was so busy this morning that he didn’t have time to eat even a slice of bread. At the party, he was similarly busy greeting people and hadn’t eaten anything, which caused his stomach to growl.

“Ha ha ha! What? What did you say? Originally? What was that?”

“Shut up! Damn, I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to eat anything!”

Masatoshi yelled at the girl laughing, blushing from embarrassment, and she quickly held out the plate she was holding in one hand.

“Hmm.”

“Hey, what?”

“Well, you made me laugh, so I’ll share. It’s free food anyway!”

On the plate was a pizza, a tekkomaki, and onigiri, all of which would fill one’s stomach. Masatoshi grabs a slice of pizza and bites into it. It was a little cold, but still delicious.

“Ah, interesting. My name is Akechi Mion. What’s your name?”

“My name is Aguni Masatoshi.”

“Aguni? Hmm, where have I heard that name before?”

“Yes, you have, haven’t you?”

After all, he’s the heir to one of only three dukes in the country, and Masatoshi’s chest heaves, and he makes a smug face. Mion remembered when she snapped her fingers and opened her mouth.

“That’s the name of the bakery on the corner! Are you the baker’s son?”

“No, I’m not! It belongs to the Dukes of Aguni! The dukes! Dukes! The dukes, the dukes!”

When Masatoshi yells, why a bakery? Mion laughs again. Is she a laughing maniac? This girl?
