Chapter 183 – Updated Later

"So, you want to take actions? You have the green lights, but what will you do?" Morris asked.

He was dead asleep alongside with Anna when the snow blizzard that covered the whole town an inch deep was raging. Del wished he weren't this sleepy, or he could provide much more details to Morris, and hopefully, getting an ability to call for SF backup for another time.

"Let's make the process faster. I want to kidnap Aveline, right now. The students were still stressful from the exam and no one should even bother about it if we create a big enough rumor in the academy." Del sipped on his cup of coffee, trying to regain back some energy before he ended up having a sleep failure and fell asleep on the ground like Mira.

"Sure, if the higher-ups approve it, let's do that. For now, just stand by for anything suspicious, besides, today is Sunday. It's better to take a rest, don't you think?" Morris asked.

"Yeah, I think so. Besides it, Morris, do you still have any intel from the operation of the night before. I still need it."

"Which one? The one where you infitrate Elbanian?"

"Yeah, that one. The one I retrieved a month ago."

Del and Anna infiltrated Elbanian to steal several document to get status update from the current affairs in there. It might be important for them, it was a routine to get information every two months or so. The information could be used to judge the current situation. So far, the war effort had been not that good for them.

It seemed that Anna was pleased to hear that there were some unfairness in her trial and the group of heroes had splitted into two factions. One was the suspicious group, the one that supported Anna and condemned the execution. The other was Eric and his goons.

The Reian seemed to be bolstering their military hardware, mainly because Ilbistirum military-industrial complex provided them with the means to do so. It was not really a war for them, but a means to avoid any genocide to their people again.

Losing for them wouldn't only mean that they would lose territory again, but it would also mean that their entire race would be wiped clean. No demons would be left behind, and that was not the outcome that the Reian nor Ilbistirum was hoping for.

As a result, several airstrikes had been conducted in Elbanian terittory every single time the Reian became the losing side. It was rather secretive, judging that there weren't any formal connection between Reian and Ilbistirum.

Morris gave Del a file, "Here ya go, I still don't know what kind of info that you need though, Del. I think we have gotten everything we need, unless we're talking about the personal issues that you have with them."

"Yeah, this is the personal issues problem. I still want to know whether Eric would come or not."

"Suit yourself then, I wouldn't help that. Anyway, it seems that our war effort would immediately come to an end, sooner or later."

"Yeah, I see the news."

The war effort in Ilbistirum had paid off too thanks to the enormous support from this secretive air strike. Several nobles were killed in the airstrikes, including the prince of the current Ilbistirum Imperial king. This damaged the morale of the soldiers from their side and increased the morale of the soldiers on our side. Needless to say, it was a marvelous achievement.

Basically, B-1 bomber that they had literally singled-handedly won the war that had been in a stalemate for a very long time. As a result, there was a negative side effects of doing this. What was the negative side effects? Well, bombing aka terrorist had gone up significantly.

Security became much tighter, even some of the soldiers had begun to increase their numbers in the street. Sneggor hadn't been hit, yet. However, using this event of chain terrorism, Del had a good idea.

"You know, Morris, what if we staged a terrorist accident in the academy just after we kidnap Aveline. It should give a lot of ruckus there and security would be tighten up."

"Sure, but do you think Daniel should be taken into consideration as well? This dude will be the first person that looks for Aveline, what do you want me to do with him? Kill him or just let him be."

"Kidnap him, too."

"Aye aye. Damn, I never thought I'd kidnap so many people in my life, now I know why the bosses want me to work with you, you seem to always choose the less lethal option."

"It just left a bad taste in my mouth, that's all."

"I see. Well, you'll get used to it, eventually."

"Anna hasn't waken up yet?" Del asked.

"She's still sleeping like a baby. Anyway, a certain doctor called this morning, she expressed an interest for curing your sister."

Cure? Well, it would be good if Anna could get skin replacement or something. It might help her gain her sanity back after living in pain for three months or more. Besides, Del felt bad for her have to take medicine every six hours or so. There were like seven pills that she had to take.

"Who was the doctor? Cassandra?" Del asked.

"No, we're talking about Mr. Gable, not Cassandra herself."

"Ah, her father?"

"No, his grandfather. You know, this is the director of Lullin general hospital. I think Cassandra told him Anna's condition and he remembered something about it. Cure might be radical, but it can be helpful, ya know?"

"I see. I'll call her back later. Back to the topic, any suggestion on how to pull this off?"

"I'll kidnap the girl, but I'll leave the boy up to you. So far, you got two options. Either sneak into the perimeter, snag the boy and get out with fulton. If you take this option, then yes, a bombing would be necessary as a distraction."

"Hmm, sounds easy enough with Mira and I. What else do you have?"

"The next one is the loud option. You barge to the dormitory at night, guns blazing. You snag him and escape the military response while lifting Daniel using a fulton balloon. If you take this option, a bombing wouldn't be necessary."

Del preferred the loud option. He would get two birds with one stone and it would save time for him. However, there was a caveat to that, right? There would be no way in hell that Morris would allow him to do that.

"Is there a caveat?"

"Yes. You have to use weapons that are available on this world. It means no HMG, no AR, no high-tech things. You do this with anything that looked similar to what this world have. So, I limit the weapons to WW2 equipment, doesn't sound so hard, does it?"

Well, Del had survived worst with WW2 equipment. He was sure that he would be able to survive it again, but this time, it seemed that an armor would be required. He might be able to use plate carriers with thick plates. It should stop most rifle rounds from this world.

Still, he and Mira needed to reduce the amount of available reinforcement if they used that choice. They could attack the military and security division, risky. Or they could poison the reinforcement. Of course, the last option seemed to be more sensible.

"I'd use tear gas to help me, is that okay?" Del asked.

"Yeah, I heard that the military is developing that kind of weapon in this world too. You should be fine using it. You also need to wear face concealment and you need to erase any threat that comes back at you. So, what do you say?"

It seemed to be too risky, even though it was rather time-saving. Well, stealth was the only option, again. Well, it was not like winter wouldn't be coming sooner or later. There would be another blizzard even greater than this. It should help him in kidnapping Daniel. Still, the cold temperature could kill Daniel if they weren't careful.

"I think I'll wait for another blizzard. Mira and I will kidnap him, bring him here, wait for the blizzard to subside and then flew him up with a fulton. It would probably be way easier than going guns blazing."

"I thought so. Anyway, if that's all, why don't you take a rest? You have done enough for today and I don't think there would be any further assignment from the higher ups. I suggest we wait more until we kidnap her. In the meantime, focus on Bosch. He would be a big threat sooner or later."

"Ok. I'll do it. Well, it seems that our effort in the war would be paid soon, right?"

"True. Sooner or later, we'll wipe out Ilbistirum Empire and we will reunite this country again. Don't worry, we only need to be careful for any potential terrorist accident.. Dismissed, Del."
