Monarch of Darkness, Arsene

Chapter 652 - Abyssal Qi

Chapter 652 - Abyssal Qi

Why did I need to hold myself back? Why did I need to continue to hide some of my baser instincts? Moderation is important. What Ren-Shii teaches is extreme, in both body and mind, but I am not in the position to reveal who I really am. Not yet. Once I enter the Abyss, Asura will Vanish, and there shall only be Arsene Snow.

"Asura," Elder Gu pleaded, opening his arms to relay his stance. "We are a righteous sect."

I nearly spat at his words. How disdainful that I have fallen so low as to remain here. I need to start pushing the inner devil of a man's heart—I'm tired of being a Star-Lord. I need to start gathering more divinity.

"You cannot speak truth to this demon," Kerr'ii rejoiced, levitating near Elder Gu; he smiled, thinking of me trapped. A fool if I have seen one. "We ought to kill him now, Elder. Why raise a devil cultivator. I'd rather see myself dead than a devil in our Sect."

There was a moment of praise from the opposition. Amused, I snickered, dismissing my spear, back into the Ring of Bael. "You are losing my attention Kerri'ii although your wife didn't. Quite a catch you have there. Don't worry, my friend. I will give your wife a new meaning of balls deep."

Thunder crackled over the twilight. The winds howled under the bloodlust Kerr'ii as he quivered. Anger filled his dark eyes, and fangs extended over his lips, revealing the inner beast.

"What did you say?" Kerri'ii said through clenched teeth.

Laughing derisively, the laws around me began to recede. Taken by my rising body, I glared while peering into his heart. Flickers of images and sounds crept into my mind as the crackles of the master's whip burned like fire against his back. Pleading and begging, the master called to his men.

"Salt the wounds of this filth. A slave should know his place." He commanded, taking apparent pleasure over the young Kerr'ii suffering.

"Master! No! For–"

Having Witnessed enough to grasp of an idea of Kerr'ii past, my laughter only grew. "I expect nothing less from a slave child like yourself." His eyes grew wide, and fear seemed to permeate his expression. "Such a wonder-full countenance."

"That is enough," Elder Gu growled. He glanced back at the ashen Mid-God and shook his head. Undoubtedly not knowing of his past. "Head to Temple and meditate." He ordered sternly, turning his attention back to me, "as for you we–"

Frozen in place alongside Elder Gu, our eyes grew wide as I peered towards Alos, billions of lightyears away. Tremors had ceased control over space. Instinctively I stared, knowing that I was looking in the right direction. My gaze became fixed, and my heart began to shake. I could see small nodes of a scarlet black qi from the void, purer than anything I had felt before. Swirling alongside the winds bringing about fear in many, myself included, the Path of Abyssal Night awakened. Washing away the weakness of my heart, I arched my fingers, allowing a single node of Abyssal QI to fall over the tip of my finger as if it were snow.

"What is this?" Elder Gu said in agitation, clenching his chest near the heart. His shoulders trembled under the power of the abyss.

"Death," I muttered beneath my breath, filling my eyes with divinity. I honed in on the image of the pale gate, countless lightyears away, in another galaxy, all together. The pale gate was glowing. "What has happened?"

"Raise the shields!" A heavy voice ordered. "All four of the superclusters are in the same position. It's all happening at once!"

Dozens of Pillars of multicolored light soon reached the skies in seconds, Unfolding an enormous barrier to cover the Sect and all its people in a blink of an eye. I lifted my hands to block the powerful gust of wild qi whipping past me. A little impressed, I could not help but notice, abyssal qi was still falling over the land like ash.

At the rim of the Sect, at the base of each pillar, stood dozens of squads. All gathered in a circle under each pillar of light. Their faces were grim as the ash of abyssal Qi continued to rain over the Holy Sword City.

Curses of despair began to race from their lips off in the distance, knowing their barrier did nothing. They still maintained the barrier until further notice from the Sect Master.

"What is this?" Said Elder Gu, grimly observing the qi under the misty twilight.

"Abyssal Qi," I answered, "Seen it on Midgard. Look there on Alos. That gate is glowing with the same type of power." I pointed out, narrowing my eyes past the bloody war racing. "It's safe to say something is happening."

"By the Raziel's Grace, "He prayed, catching my attention. My heart sunk. "It's a Horseman Gate! The Pale Gate," He too confirmed, a little too late. "I need to inform the Sect Master."

Whipping past me into the Sect's core, I glanced at the other Mid-Gods, all busy with this strange phenomenon. I was a bit curious, too, but time is not a factor I have. I needed power, and I needed it quick.

Questioning my fellow sect disciples who had exited their cultivation cave to witness what was happening. I found some information regarding the Time Manipulation chambers that was not too far and well within reach of my divine sense.

Racing after my goal, knowing not many had time to deal with me as of yet. I could not be bothered even to care. I was going to abuse the shit out of my position. I was now Sera's disciple, the great Arc-Angel of heaven.

Taking note of the large pasture with a large stone tower, I landed near its crooked base. Noting the few disciples were coming in and out, I approached, where I met another shriveled-headed old man, who seemed closer to death than elder Gu. Blocking the passage to the stairs with his large desk, he slowly opened his hollow eyes.

"Asura Bloodgrave." He asked as if to confirm, in a long-winded manner, apparently not bothered by the Abyssal Qi.

Not sure how he knew my name, I nodded, "The one and only." I answered. "I'm here for a room to train."

"How long?" he asked, and I shrugged.

"Till someone comes looking for me."

His thin lips slightly lifted, "Amusing. I will grant you a thousand-year for each hour in real-time.. That is the maxim limit I can grant to chosen like you."
